THE GOD EATER

The rank 7 Divine Metac only grants him the possibility of advancing to rank 7, but when he thought about this possibility, he became excited. In his excitement, he said to himself, ’I’m sure a lot of people won’t like to see it happen, and they will try to stop me. But I’ll still go through with it anyway.”

”If they want to stop me, so be it. And if they manage to stop me, so be it. But they have to possess the strength to stop me first, and they must be willing to pay the price, too.”

As he said this, his eyes became full of determination. Then he let his body sink through the ground of the second heaven and pop into the second dimension.

Along the way, he changed his appearance. He became a giant with red skin. Long red hair came down from his head to his waist, and his arms bulged like pillars of muscle carved from stone.

This change in appearance was done with the Vengeful Bones Metac. He didn’t use the Nanite Metac because it is a Forging Pathway Metac and would leave traces on him to identify him as a forger.

When he reached the second dimension, he activated the Golden Lion Strength Metac. This drew the attention of the Divine Position. Its brightness stopped being dim.

The Divine Position of the Golden Lion Strength Metac shone brighter in the divine constellation for a few seconds. After ten seconds of continuous activation of the Golden Lion Strength Metac, it finally began to descend to Loki’s position.

Loki had called the Divine Position in the second dimension instead of using the first dimension so that he could avoid unwanted attraction. Unfortunately, it didn’t work.

The only thing the second dimension managed to achieve was to hide the fact that someone was using the Golden Lion Strength Metac to take a Divine Position from mortals. Mortals were kept in the dark, but no divine being was ignorant of what was going on.

First of all, Monarch Golden Lion had died only recently. It had been nearly a month since she died, so there was no way she could have reincarnated, recovered her strength, and be now making the attempt to return to her Divine Position.

With this information as the basis of their understanding of the situation, a lot could be said about this ascension and the person doing the ascension.

The divine beings watching didn’t hold back in saying what they thought about the situation. They chatted about it as they entered the second dimension to see what was going on.

When they arrived, they stood in the distance watching Loki. As more and more divine beings arrived, they formed a circle around Loki.

They were all chatting for now. But even when they didn’t talk about making a move against Loki, they had all subtly formed a barricade around him with their bodies.

It seemed that they didn’t plan to let him leave easily. Apparently, they didn’t need to discuss this plan for them to instinctively begin to execute the plan.

Their chatter was loud and bothersome, but Loki ignored them. However, all the chatter stopped when some rank 8 cultivators arrived on the scene and began talking.

Every cultivator at rank 7 and rank 6 immediately became quiet when they saw the rank 8 cultivators. Some even decided to leave now while they still could.

With the area suddenly becoming quiet, the discussion of the rank 8 cultivators could be heard clearly, even though they were only a handful of them compared to the nearly 100 weaker divine beings.

This time, Loki paid attention to what the rank 8 were saying. After all, they possessed strength that warranted that he at least listen to what they had to say.

The rank 8 cultivator of the Strength Pathway started this high-level discussion by chuckling and saying, ”It seems Golden Lion is finished since her precious Divine Metacs are being used by someone else. This isn’t something I expected at all.”

The rank 8 transformation warrior shook his head and said, ”No one expected her death in the first place. Definitely, no one expected she would die so quickly. But it seems we were still in for a surprise because not only did she die an absurd and unexpected death, but even her Divine Metacs were taken from her.”

The rank 8 cultivator of the Array Pathway sighed and said, ”Either they gained access to her Cave Heaven by luck after she died and took her Divine Metacs, or they already had the recipe for the Divine Metacs and wanted her to die so they could use the recipe.”

”If it is the first one, we should suspect the sole rank 8 cultivator of the Strength Pathway. If it is the second one, we should still suspect the sole rank 8 cultivator of the Strength Pathway. My point is that their rank 8 suspicious in her death because it would be in his interest to get rid of the upcoming competition.”

These words made the rank 8 cultivator of the Strength Pathway stop chuckling and snort before saying, ”Don’t say nonsense. I don’t care if she becomes a rank 8 cultivator or not. If she thinks it is all glamorous, she can come and have a taste of it. It won’t be long before she realizes that being rank 8 isn’t as cool and easy as it looks.”

His words were full of unconcealed frustration as he said, ”When she has to pay 10,000 years of lifespan every ten years for every Divine Position, she will be sure to wish she had never coveted the position.”

What he said was reasonable, and many rank 8 cultivators agreed. But the rank 8 transformation warrior had something to say about the relationship between the rank 8 strength warrior and Monarch Golden Lion.

He said, ”Didn’t you once invite her to join your alliance, and you rejected her?”
