The Mecha Driver Is a Cultivator

Chapter 257: Chapter 140: Ruins of Civilization

“Civilization ruins?”

Qin Jin raised his eyebrow slightly, recalling the moment he arrived on this planet and viewed the area shrouded in dense fog from the sky: “Is this area where I currently reside?”

In front of him, new information emerged word by word.

Qin Jin decided to observe the surroundings, waiting for the information to fully appear before checking it.

At this moment, he was in a resting room about twenty square meters in size, a small room but with all kinds of living items readily available. The door to the resting room was slightly ajar, and he pushed it open to look outside. It was a wide courtyard, empty with nothing inside.

At the edge of the courtyard was a curtain-like Restriction surrounding the area, seemingly restricting the participating students from leaving.

“Although it’s a team competition, everyone starts independently.”

As the thought passed, Qin Jin returned to the resting room and looked at the information on the curtain.

[Star Dome Limit-Breaking Cup · Team Competition]

[Duration]: 15 days

[Mode]: Exploration / Harvest / Points / Combat

[Rule Introduction]: Explore the civilization ruins, any valuable information, materials, or items can be evaluated for points. Defeating others can also gain points. In the end, the ranking is determined by the total points of all team members to compete for the team competition’s ranking.

Beneath the rule introduction, more detailed text was shown.

Participants, for the next half month, this resting room will be your initial location.

During random daily times, the Teleportation Gate to the civilization ruins will open. After entering the Teleportation Gate, you will appear in a random area of the ruins to explore within the time limit and go to the exit point for evacuation before the time ends.

Note: Anyone not evacuated when time ends will have their gains cleared to zero.

Note: Exit points are divided into random exit points, fixed exit points, and task exit points.

Note: Please explore the hidden rules of the civilization ruins during the team competition.

As Qin Jin’s gaze fell on the last line of text, new information appeared below.

[Qin Jin, stored in the drawer on your right-side desk is your personal wristwatch. You can use it to check points, scan and evaluate items, and confirm your status.]

His gaze swept over, Qin Jin opened the drawer, took out the wristwatch, and wore it on his wrist.

The wristwatch opened, presenting information.

[Participant]: Qin Jin

[Camp]: Wuyuan Academy

[Current accumulated points]: 0

[Status]: 100 (Data generated based on the participant’s status, considered a failed exploration if status falls below 50 during civilization ruins exploration, and automatic return ensues)

Below, there were options such as [Scan], [Map], and many others.

“So…”

Qin Jin pondered the rules in his mind: “This team competition mode is similar to the treasure-hunting mode in games?”

“The civilization ruins, is that the map arranged by the organizers?”

A fleeting thought, just then, the information related to rules on the curtain received, turned into icons listed at the bottom, and new information emerged.

[Civilization ruins exploration is about to begin]

[Please prepare to enter the participants waiting in the courtyard]

“Although it’s a team competition, it seems like everyone needs to act independently and eventually calculate the point summary.”

“Or perhaps, within the civilization ruins, there might be possibilities for collaboration in other aspects?”

Since coming to participate, he devotedly considered the information, walked out of the resting room and reached the courtyard.

In the center of the courtyard, a Teleportation Gate, roughly one-person-high, took shape, currently in a closed state.

Qin Jin’s gaze swept through the yard: “So spacious, if it were merely for generating a Teleportation Gate, the resting room would suffice.”

“Wait…”

His eyebrow raised slightly, thinking about the information within the rules: “The rules mentioned evaluating points for items within civilization ruins but did not mention recovery.”

“So, after evaluation, could one’s gains also be used?”

While deducing in his heart, the Teleportation Gate opened in front of him, a whirlpool spinning inside, and Qin Jin stepped into it.

…

In an instant, the shuttle completed.

At the moment when he first felt his foot landing on firm ground, Qin Jin sensed something, Primordial Power surged, condensing into light beams, Source-Killing Cannon activated, abruptly shooting out.

Primordial Power traversed mid-air.

In the next moment, approximately several meters beside him, an Energy Construct resembling a mantis shattered, accompanied by a ding-dong sound, something crashed onto the ground.

Qin Jin reached out, Primordial Power surged and adhered to it, confirming no anomalies, falling into the palm.

A deep purple, thin sheet-like crystal chip.

This was not an Energy Crystal Core but an Energy Fragment, Qin Jin could feel the surge of energy inside.

“The opponents aren’t just other participants.”

“Within this civilization ruins itself, there exist attackers too.”

As the thought shifted, Qin Jin aimed the wristwatch at it and activated the scan function.

The wristwatch had no response.

“During ruins exploration, scanning cannot be conducted?”

Qin Jin instantly realized.

“This also tests the participant’s own eyesight and perception ability, it’s highly likely that the items brought back might have low point value or even might not be point-evaluable.”

“Within the civilization ruins, surely there will be large pieces, I wonder what the situation of the exit point is.”

He activated the [Map] function on his wristwatch.

The projection was cast out, but the map above was pitch black, with only a few light points lighting up.

One specific light point represented Qin Jin’s location, while three other light points were positioned in different directions.
