Chapter 1284: Don’t Go Dying

As the Above disciples were having various thoughts, it suddenly occurred to them. Why hadn’t the sect also just trusted them with the resources they would find in The Sleeping Hollow? The Sect could have also simply entrusted them with the loot, no?

So, if the Sect didn’t trust them, why should they trust the sect? Trust was a two-way road, right?

With that, Tory Hale stepped forward as he requested a Contract. The moment he signed the Contract, he took out a huge egg that was as large as a fully grown adult. Everyone stared at it for a moment as they immediately sensed the uniqueness of the egg, from the shell itself, which seemed to shimmer with ancient patterns, to the unknown Law that hummed around it.

No one needed to say anything to know this was an immense treasure. It merely needed to hatch, and Tory would possess some ancient beast with immense power.

Their eyes tore away from Tory’s egg as, in the next moment, they all began to walk forward and hand over their treasures one after another. As geniuses, their luck was naturally a bit better than ordinary people’s. Although not to the point of sheer, unbelievable fortune, it was still enough for them to discover small treasures every once in a while.

Funnily enough, only Anthony didn’t step forward as he remained in place. The other disciples stared at him for a moment, then it finally occurred to them that Anthony had only ascended a week ago and hadn’t even left the sect, so there was no way he possessed any treasures.

Anthony simply smiled and shook his head.

’Should I head to Vega’s Galaxy and bring her to The Sleeping Hollow?’ Anthony thought to himself. It would make for a rather nice setting for a date.

Vega had been working nonstop as there never seemed to be any rest for slaves, so Anthony felt she needed a breath of fresh air. She could simply leave one of the clones she normally used for cultivation in her place within the Galaxy.

Anthony shook his head. Vega hadn’t comprehended any Laws yet. If she came, she would want to participate in the battles, not merely watch from the sidelines. With that realization, he immediately scrapped the thought of bringing Vega into The Sleeping Hollow.

But then, an idea suddenly occurred to Anthony. Since Authorities were higher than Laws, shouldn’t he use his Authority Of Severance to sever the limits on the Laws that Vega had an innate resonance with?

That way, she could immediately jump to the Law Embodiment Stage and would also be able to participate in the battles. The moment he had that thought, he wanted to immediately put it to the test, but he instantly froze as he remembered something... Vega would never agree to such a proposal. She wanted power that she had earned on her own, not power that had simply been handed to her.

He sighed in disappointment. He might have to actually go to her Upper Galaxy and spend the day there doing whatever activity she had been assigned as a date. Clean the toilets? Then they would physically clean them together.

As Anthony was lost in thoughts of his girlfriend, The Punisher simply gazed at Null Nathaniel, who nodded before waving his hand. Every treasure the Above disciples had brought out vanished into his space ring.

None of the Core Elders nor the Sect Master himself were surprised that the Above disciples had requested Contracts. If any of the disciples hadn’t, they would have been more disappointed than pleased.

Null Nathaniel stared at his geniuses, then gave one final nod before vanishing from where he sat as though he was done with the meeting. Although he wanted to say something else, he ultimately held himself back, as it would simply create unnecessary tension, and the information wouldn’t help them in any way.

As for what he had wanted to say but held back? Well, it was merely a minor piece of information, that The Lover Of Death was an Eternal Apex, a Pseudo-Higher Entity.

Chaos Betroth, who had been silent all this while, finally stepped forward as she began to speak. ”I will be the one to lead you to the location where The Sleeping Hollow is expected to appear. I will guide and protect you all until we get there. All you have to do is get in and get out. Leave everything else beyond that to me,” her tone remained flat.

The disciples nodded, not daring to speak unless they were asked a question directly.

Chaos Betroth, the fifth and last Core Elder, was the only Elder entrusted to protect the Above disciples by herself. Why? Simple. She was simply that strong and was considered the strongest Elder, second only to The Sword Ruler himself, although both of them stood at the Progenitor Rank together.

The Slumbering Storm stared at Anthony. If there was anyone she wanted to return alive, it would be him. The fact that he had landed an attack on her was enough to show just how much of a genius he truly was, and she was beginning to like him. Not in a romantic way, but in the way an elder would take a liking to a promising young child. After all, Anthony was a child in her eyes, and practically in everyone’s eyes. He was the youngest person here too.

She planned for them to spar more often after he returned. That way, she could stretch her body more frequently while also watching his growth.

”I wish you all good luck,” The Slumbering Storm spoke as her body dissolved into countless particles.

Chaos Betroth was about to say that she wished them bad luck on the journey so they would be attacked and she would finally have a chance to fight, but alas, she had a duty to perform.

The Punisher, The Deceiver Of Laws, and The Decipherer Of The Heavens stared at the disciples before they too began to blur out of existence as a voice echoed throughout the hall.

”Don’t go dying on us, young ones.”

The Above disciples could only bow as they cupped their fists respectfully while everyone departed.

”Let’s move,” Chaos Betroth stated with a calm expression as she began to walk out of the hall they were all in, her destination being the huge double door.

The other disciples simply followed behind her with calm expressions and hearts filled with quiet excitement for the new adventure that awaited them.
