The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

”But it’s up to you whether you want to seize this opportunity.”

Li Hui on the opposite side gave a bitter smile, ”Officer, I don’t understand what you mean.”

”If you’re just making me take the fall, I’m sorry but I, Li Hui, absolutely won’t take the blame. I believe that the law is fair, and judges are just, they won’t wrongly accuse a good person.”

”Good person? You have the nerve to call yourself a good person?”

With a ”bang,” Qin Feng raised his hand and slapped the table again.

......

At this moment, standing outside the one-way mirror of the interrogation room were Mr. Chen, Director Hou, and Jiang An, all with furrowed brows.

One must know that in this case, they indeed have no solid evidence.

From analyzing the physical characteristics of the victim to the possible physical defects of the perpetrator, to finding men with such defects, these are merely hypothetical deductions, not a perfect fit like a screw and a nut.

In other words, logically speaking, Li Hui might be a suspect, but it doesn’t mean that a man with defects would definitely commit such an act.

After all, some people have a higher moral standard and stronger legal consciousness, naturally preventing them from committing such an extreme act, and at most, seek fulfillment through money or dating.

At this moment, the situation reported back by the security team emerged in their minds: That man carried a fishy smell.

So, the fishy smell only suggests he frequently handles fish.

So, is it certain that he raises fish?

Could he possibly be a long-time fish butcher?

After thinking for a long time, Mr. Chen turned and said, ”From my years of forensic investigative experience, I find it surprising how calm Li Hui is in the interrogation room. There’s no sign of panic typical of a suspect.”

Director Hou also opened his mouth to say, ”Exactly.”

”If the information the security team provided is accurate, Li Hui isn’t the only one in this city with a fishy scent.”

”Moreover, we limited our investigations to within Guangling City, just like Jiang An previously said, the suspect might not even be from Guangling.”

”He might even be from Guangling, but wasn’t treated here when injured.”

As he spoke, he turned to look at Jiang An beside him.

Jiang An nodded, ”Exactly, we are rather on the passive side now.”

”But...”

”But what?”

Director Hou hurriedly asked.

Over time, Director Hou absolutely recognized Jiang An’s personal abilities, believing Jiang An’s forensic skills to be the best.

He asked, ”Mr. Jiang, do you have any good suggestions?”

Jiang An remained silent for a while and then said in a deep voice, ”At present, without critical evidence in hand, we might only get a breakthrough through a confession.”

Then, Mr. Chen waved his hand and said, ”But you have seen the situation inside the interrogation room.”

”Throughout the entire process, he remains extremely calm during the questioning, without any agitation or improper behavior.”

Jiang An pondered for a while and said, ”He indeed seems extremely calm.”

”However, I noticed Li Hui’s hair is very thick, and his beard is also very dense.”

”For such a person, the androgen levels should be relatively high.”

”Medically speaking, such individuals ought to have stronger desires.”

”But we can confirm that he has a significant deficiency in his genital area, unable to conduct normal male activities, which should trouble him internally.”

”Therefore, from the characteristics of a suspect, I believe he is highly suspect.”

Hearing this, Mr. Chen said, ”Of course! But suspecting he is a suspect differs from definitively determining he’s the perpetrator.”

”Without solid evidence, even prolonged interrogation might not yield results.”

Mr. Chen and Director Hou exchanged glances and shook their heads helplessly at the intersection of their gaze.

Dealing with a suspect so unusually calm is rather troublesome.

Immediately, Jiang An thought for a long while and spoke, ”However, one point we must not overlook is that, for a man with such a defect, especially when the defect concerns a critical male part.”

”For such a man, his psychological health must be warped, and his self-esteem likely very high too.”

”What do you mean?”

Director Hou turned to look at him and asked.

Jiang An said, ”I want to use a psychological attack to provoke him into anger.”

”Only when people are angry do they become less rational, at which point he might let down his guard, allowing us to find some trace clues.”

Upon these words, Mr. Chen and Director Hou exchanged glances.

After a moment of silence, Director Hou said, ”Now, it seems that this might indeed be a good approach.”

”However, the premise must be based on him being the perpetrator. If our scope overlooked someone, even through such methods, it might not be effective.”

Jiang An nodded and said, ”I believe this is currently a viable way to break through.”

”If there’s a breakthrough, that would be great, if not, we’ll find other ways.”

After speaking, he immediately turned around and proceeded to the front door to enter the interrogation room.

At this moment, Director Hou turned to look at Mr. Chen, furrowing his brow tightly: ”Is your crime scene investigation team available?”

”The scene investigation team?”

”Director Hou, are you planning to visit the scene?”

”The female corpse in the river water holds no investigational value, the indoor scene has been examined several times, do you think further investigation is necessary?”

Director Hou nodded, ”The death scene doesn’t need investigation, but I feel the transportation scene warrants investigation.”

”Transportation scene? Are you referring to a vehicle?”

Director Hou analyzed, ”During the capture, we’re all waiting in cars.”

”Does Li Hui actually have a vehicle? We didn’t see one at the scene.”

”However, I believe for a body packed in a box, transporting it from the crime spot to the riverside definitely requires a vehicle.”

”Therefore, I think returning to Houshan Village to see if Li Hui’s home has a vehicle is necessary?”

”If a vehicle exists, conducting a thorough investigation to seek any clues is warranted.”

Hearing this, Mr. Chen nodded, but after reconsidering, he asked, ”But as no open wounds were found on the victim, naturally no blood traces would form.”

”Moreover, the body in its entirety was sealed in a box, so even if we find a vehicle, we might not find common blood traces, shedding cells, hair, or other trace substances.”

Director Hou’s mouth twitched, ”Without conventional evidence, we’ll see if there are other types of evidence when the time comes.”

”Other evidence? What would that be?” Mr. Chen asked.

”This...I’m unsure either, after we find the vehicle, we’ll analyze specific problems as they arise.”

Following these words, Director Hou turned and exited the interrogation room.

Soon, Mr. Chen also followed and promptly arranged a capable team from forensics, instructing them to bring sufficient equipment, including lighting, trace evidence collection devices, and Luminol reagent among other chemicals.

After all, they can’t afford to overlook any shred of hope or evidence right now.

Just like striving for entrance into a top university during your college entrance exams, if your integrated science or arts scores aren’t absolutely strong, every point in other subjects is worth fighting for.

Only by deploying a combination of moves and forming an evidence chain can a closed circle of evidence be created.

As Director Hou and Mr. Chen led the investigation team to Houshan Village, Jiang An and Qin Feng in the interrogation room commenced a new round of questioning on Li Hui...
