The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

The police initially dispatched three cars, each officer armed and ready for a big operation.

However, they didn’t expect the result to be so smooth this time.

During previous rural arrests, Qin Feng had encountered some troublesome locals who, in order to protect someone, would gather family forces to obstruct the arrest.

Forty minutes later, Li Hui was brought into the interrogation room of the criminal investigation team.

This time, the case interrogation was led by Qin Feng and Deputy Captain Zhang Jun.

Both of them were key investigators in the team, both having grown through frontline experience, making them a golden combination.

Director Hou, Jiang An, and Mr. Chen were outside the one-way glass of the interrogation room.

At this moment, all three had deeply furrowed brows.

Mr. Chen spoke, ”This Li Hui seems calm and collected; I guess he’s not a simple character.”

Director Hou nodded, ”Currently, we indeed don’t have any solid evidence. It’s just that his basic conditions fit the profile of the perpetrator.”

”With just this condition, it doesn’t necessarily mean he’s the murderer. It’s like the necessary and sufficient conditions in mathematics; it’s just a necessary condition for the crime, but not necessarily a sufficient one.”

Hearing this, Mr. Chen shook his head, ”That’s indeed the case.”

”In fact, when we deal with murder cases, we rarely have solid evidence. Let’s see if they can make a breakthrough in the interrogation.”

Soon, both of them focused their gaze inside the interrogation room.

Beside them, Jiang An also had deeply furrowed brows, contemplating a question.

If the Li Hui inside the interrogation room continues to deny his crime, what should they do next?

It’s important to know that in the investigation of criminal cases, there are time constraints.

If they can’t find solid evidence within twenty-four hours of capturing him, they have to release him.

Twenty-four hours is a very brief time.

Moreover, during Li Hui’s arrest, he offered no resistance and was instead very cooperative.

In Jiang An’s view, based on his work experience, dealing with such extremely calm suspects is often more challenging.

As has often been said before, a guilty conscience betrays itself.

But if this criminal has thoroughly prepared, or even believes the crime is perfect, he has no reason to be nervous.

Nervousness arises when you lack confidence.

If you are confident enough, even a suspect before the police can remain calm and collected.

At this moment, in the interrogation room, Li Hui was seated on the interrogation chair.

Qin Feng asked, ”Do you know why we brought you here today?”

Li Hui shook his head, ”I was at home cleaning my fish pond, and my head’s still buzzing.”

”I don’t know what I did wrong to warrant being brought here by you officers.”

”You don’t know?”

”I don’t know.”

As he spoke, Li Hui gazed at Qin Feng without a hint of the usual nervousness seen in interrogation rooms.

Similarly, Qin Feng also stared right at him.

Actually, the interrogation process is a psychological battle.

As the saying goes, ’in a narrow path, the brave win’; in the interrogation room, it’s not about bravery, but about who is more composed.

Qin Feng picked up two photos from the table, face pictures of Jiang Shan and Zhang Qian.

Getting up, he walked over and tossed them in front of him, ”Do you recognize these two people?”

Li Hui glanced down, then shook his head, ”I don’t know them.”

”Look carefully! Do you know them or not?”

”I really don’t know these two people, never met them.”

”Never met? How about I remind you of where you might have encountered them?”

”One lay on the sofa, the other in the bathroom.”

”Now, don’t tell me you don’t know anything.”

Speaking, Qin Feng gazed intently at Li Hui.

Li Hui’s gaze flickered for a moment before returning to normal, and he said, ”Officer, I truly don’t know what you’re talking about.”

”I’ve never seen these two people, nor do I know where they are. The sofa and bathroom you’re talking about are completely baffling to me.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Qin Feng slammed the table fiercely.

”Bang!”

”I advise you to be honest with me.”

”Since we managed to find you among hundreds of thousands in Guangling, there must be evidence of you being a suspect.”

”Moreover, we’ve found evidence of the filthy things you did to the deceased.”

”Because, you are not a normal man.”

Upon hearing this, Li Hui suddenly raised his head, staring straight ahead.

”Officer, I don’t know what you’re trying to imply, but please do not insult my character.”

”Insult your character? Have you ever thought that trampling on another’s life might be more severe than me insulting your character?”

”I warn you, if this continues, I will definitely report you when I leave.”

”Report as you wish, but only if you can leave this room.”

Then, Zhang Jun played the good cop.

He spoke softly, ”Li Hui, I see your business in the countryside is thriving, with the locals praising your fish. You seem like a young man with aspirations.”

”Everyone makes mistakes. The sea of bitterness has no bounds; turn back and it’s the shore.”

”In our younger years, who hasn’t made mistakes? But if you can correct them in time, forgiveness will be given.”

”Although this case involves two deceased people, as long as you have a good attitude and confess, we will actively petition the prosecutor’s office and the court for a reduction in your sentence, and you might walk free then.”
