Strongest Hammer God

Chapter 158 Rolling

Its maw was no longer a maw since the entire ceiling was missing.

That derpy salamander actually blew a crater that was about three meters wide into the wormʼs face!

ʼDude, what? I canʼt do that!ʼ Kyle thought. ʼI thought I could deal a ton of damage with my hammer, but thatʼs just ridiculous!ʼ

”Thatʼs a Skinner Salamander,” Theodor commented. ”There are not many beasts that are stronger in the First Realm.”

Kyle watched the worm thrashing around chaotically.

”Donʼt even think about it,” Theodor commented. ”You canʼt kill that. Even with the Beast Tamer helping you.”

”Colossuses have brains all over their body. You would need to destroy half of its body to kill it, and the Skinner Salamander doesnʼt have that much Ether. Its strikes are powerful, but they need long preparation time and cost a lot of Ether.”

The next second, Kyle saw the Colossus digging into the ground again.

And then…

It fucked off.

”Are you okay?” Selene asked with worry as Skweera approached. ”I must apologize for my slow reaction. I didnʼt think there actually was a Colossus there.”

”Huh? Yeah, yeah. Iʼm fine,” Kyle answered. ”Also, Iʼm pretty sure I told you there was one.”

Selene became a bit red in the face. ”Yes, I know. I apologize. It wonʼt happen again.”

Kyle looked with confusion and concern at Selene.

ʼWhatʼs up with her?ʼ he thought.

”Well, as long as it doesnʼt happen again, sure,” Kyle commented.

”Thank you,” Selene spoke with embarrassment.

Right now, Selene wasnʼt embarrassed because of Kyleʼs lies but because of herself.

She hadnʼt believed in Kyle, and that had endangered his life.

ʼI should have been ready!ʼ she shouted at herself in her mind.

Meanwhile, Skweera was walking to the pieces of flesh that had been blasted off the worm and started to eat them.

”Leave some for me!” Kyle shouted as he also started to chow down.

As he ate the first piece, he furrowed his brows.

ʼBland. Itʼs not bad. Itʼs just… bland. It tastes like nothing.ʼ

Luckily, there was enough meat for Skweera and Kyle.

When they were done eating, Kyle looked at Skweera and Selene.

”So, yeah… that was… something,” he said.

Selene nodded. ”Skinner Salamanders have incredible destructive powers, but they are slow and need a lot of preparation time. Thatʼs why I need a Shouter.”

”If I were on my own, Skweera might not be able to prepare an attack in time.”

”Huh,” Kyle uttered as he looked at the derpy salamander.

ʼWe got artillery now,ʼ he thought. ʼThis thing is like a mortar or something. Scary.ʼ

”We should continue,” Selene said. ”Whereʼs the Peak Beast specimen?”

”Oh, right!” Kyle shouted before he started coughing.

”About 200 meters in that direction,” he said as he ran in the indicated direction.

Selene looked with a complex expression at Kyle.

He really didnʼt look confident, and it really seemed like he was lying.

Yet, he had been right every time so far.

In the end, Selene decided to believe in Kyle.

The two of them continued traveling for about 200 meters before Kyle stopped.

”And here it is,” Kyle said, stopping in front of a random spot.

Selene couldnʼt see any signs of beast activity in the area.

”How do you know?” she asked.

”Eh, trade secret,” Kyle answered.

In truth, Theodor had used Colossuses before to dig out the gigantic cave his city was in, and he had experimented a lot with them.

He could tell where the specimens were just by looking at the patterns in the sand.

”Specimens?” Kyle coughed into his arm. ”Shouldnʼt it be specimen?”

”Specimens is the proper plural,” Theodor answered with annoyance. ”Donʼt question my language skills. Youʼre the one with the dwarf brain.”

”So, what do you need me to do?” Kyle asked Selene.

Selene looked at the random spot on the ground.

”I will tame it as my first Secondary Beast. When it is stronger, I will make it my Primary Beast. In order to tame the Colossus, it needs to be weakened and feel inferior,” she explained.

”And how do we do that?” Kyle asked.

”We beat it in a fight,” Selene said.

”Oh! So, you just want to beat the shit out of it?” Kyle asked.

”Kyle, strong beasts do not defecate,” Selene commented.

”Itʼs a phrase,” he answered with a roll of his eyes.

Selene didnʼt engage further with the topic. ”Lure it out, please.”

”Sure thing, Boss,” Kyle answered as he jumped onto a random spot on the ground.

As soon as he landed, his eyes widened.

BANG!

Kyle jumped to the side as the Colossus charged out of the ground.

ʼThat was way faster than the other one!ʼ Kyle thought.

This specimen was much smaller than the last one.

It was only about 20 meters long, and its maw was about two meters wide.

After its attack, the Colossus became wide open to an attack since it needed to retreat into the ground again.

Since Kyle had seen how the earlier Colossus moved, he could predict with relative accuracy how this one would move.

Beasts like this were quite stupid, and they all moved in the same pattern.

Just when the worm lowered its head to dig into the ground, a green hammer hit the side of its face.

BOOOOOM!

The head shot to its right, hit the ground, and the entire body rolled over twice.

”UUUUUH! Good hit!” Kyle shouted.

Selene watched in surprise.

She had seen Kyleʼs power earlier, but now, it became apparent just how powerful he was.

This was ridiculous!

Sure, Skweera was much more destructive, but compared to Skweera, Kyle could move around and launch a bunch of attacks in succession.

Selene imagined how a fight between Skweera and Kyle would go.

She came to the conclusion that it all depended on the starting location.

If there were twenty meters or so between them, Kyle would just die before reaching Skweera.

But if it were any closer…

That was when Selene remembered that Kyle was actually quite slow.

Skweera could just run away and strike from a distance.

Yet, Kyle could just hide behind the terrain.

In short, the results would be inconclusive.

Despite Seleneʼs shock, she only hesitated for a single second this time.

Skweera readied its attack.

BOOOM!

Kyle hit the worm again when it wanted to retreat into the ground, rolling it some more.

”This is fun!” Kyle shouted.

He wasnʼt doing a lot of damage since this thing was all muscle, but he basically made it helpless.

When Selene saw that, she told Skweera to hold its attack.

Maybe they didnʼt need Skweera for this.
