Nine Dragons Saint Ancestor

Chapter 307: 307 Jade Pot Cave Level 9

Within the entire Xuanyue Empire, perhaps only the formidable Xuanyue Imperial Family dared to meddle with affairs concerning Jade Pot Sect. The arrival of Xuan Zhi undoubtedly kindled a glimmer of hope for success in Fu Du.

Having obtained the answer he desired, Fu Du hesitated no longer. Those who aspire to achieve great undertakings are not bogged down by trivialities; whether they become a king or suffer defeat, once he ascends to the throne of the Jade Pot Sect Master, who would dare to criticize him then?

However, what Fu Du failed to see was the moment he agreed, a mysterious flash of light that went unnoticed flickered in Xuan Zhi’s eyes, suggesting that not everything was as straightforward as it appeared.

...

The sky above Jade Pot Cave!

Two dark dots, drawing closer from afar, were Mo Qing and Yun Xiao riding the Wolf Hawks towards the Jade Pot Cave. However, this time, they did not head towards the mid-slope platform of Gourd Mountain but directly flew over the top of Gourd Mouth.

This place resembled a gourd-shaped cliff split in half by a strike, appearing rather enigmatic. As Yun Xiao came closer to Gourd Mouth, he suddenly found that the blood-red crescent mark on his right palm was growing hotter.

This invisible summoning excited Yun Xiao somewhat, and he was somewhat impatient. It was not until the Wolf Hawk descended in front of a cave entrance that he regained his composure.

”This is the special entrance to the ninth level; no need to ascend from the first level!”

Mo Qing explained briefly and then proceeded toward the entrance of the ninth level, where there was someone who didn’t seem all too unfamiliar to Yun Xiao.

”Su He, the Elder?”

Seeing this, Yun Xiao was somewhat surprised. This Sixth Elder of the Jade Pot Sect had always been in charge of the affairs of the Outer Sect. Why had he now become the Guardian of the ninth level of Jade Pot Cave?

”Hehe, Elder Li Shan still has lingering poison, so I am temporarily taking over for him!”

Seeing Yun Xiao’s puzzled look, Su He spoke first. Now, he held Yun Xiao in extremely high regard, not only because of his cultivation talent but also for saving Li Shan’s life.

”Yun Xiao, congratulations, this fortune is unprecedented in the history of the Jade Pot Sect; even Miss Mo Qing doesn’t have the privilege to directly enter the ninth level of Jade Pot Cave!”

It seemed Su He was somewhat sentimental and even perplexed about the Sect Master’s decision, thinking that someone like Yun Xiao should not be suitable to enter the ninth level of Jade Pot Cave even if he had achieved great merit.

However, since it had come to this, Su He did not say much more, but stepped aside, and added, ”Remember, you can only stay on the ninth level of Jade Pot Cave for three days. Whether successful or not, you’ll need to come out immediately after three days, or else you’ll be breaking the rules of the Sect!”

Understanding these conditions, Yun Xiao nodded slightly towards Mo Qing and then stepped past Su He, plunging into the cave entrance that was just tall enough for one person.

”Hey, I wonder if this little guy will gain some fortune. The treasures of the ninth level of Jade Pot Cave aren’t that easy to obtain!”

Watching Yun Xiao disappear into the cave entrance, Su He said with slight emotion, intrigued since Yun Xiao had left a profound impression during the Outer Sect competition and his subsequent entry into the Inner Sect.

”I believe in him!”

However, Su He’s monologue-like statement was met with a response. As he turned around to see Mo Qing speaking, a peculiar expression surfaced on his face.

Su He knew that due to her cultivation technique, Mo Qing had been aloof and indifferent to every man and even women ever since she joined Jade Pot Sect.

But now, while saying these words, a smile graced Mo Qing’s face, an expression never seen before by Su He, which of course surprised him.

As if sensing Su He’s gaze, Mo Qing’s cheeks tinged slightly red without further ado, and she walked over to sit down nearby. However, her gaze still occasionally flitted over to the entrance of the ninth level of Jade Pot Cave, as if deep in thought.

...

While Yun Xiao was unaware of the conversation outside after he entered the cave, the moment he stepped into the ninth level of Jade Pot Cave, a strange feeling surged within him.

This feeling was utterly unlike his previous two ventures into Jade Pot Cave; any possible dangers seemed to have vanished within this ninth level.

Yun Xiao had great confidence in his sixth sense, perhaps stemming from his battle-hardened experiences in Nine-layered Dragon Cloud, allowing him to sense any dangerous aura at the first instance.

As Yun Xiao delved deeper into the ninth layer of the Jade Pot Cave, he encountered no formidable Vein Demons nor any harmful forces, allowing him to proceed quite effortlessly for about thirty minutes.

Previously, Mo Qing had mentioned that the ninth layer of the Jade Pot Cave harbored no Vein Demons and no special Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures, only an elusive mysterious power.

However, how to obtain this mysterious power was unknown to Mo Qing, and Yun Xiao was even more clueless. Moreover, as he ventured deeper, he suddenly realized that the sensing ability of the Blood Moon Mark on his right palm had become somewhat blurred and unclear.

Yun Xiao had been following the guidance of this palm mark, but now the call seemed to flicker ahead and then behind, to the left and then to the right, making it quite perplexing for him.

Logically, such sensing should not be mistaken; however, Yun Xiao felt that the thing calling him might move at any moment, which seemed not like an inanimate object, but a living creature.

But previously, Mo Qing clearly said there were no Vein Demons on this layer; what could this moving entity be? Yun Xiao was utterly puzzled.

Since he couldn’t pinpoint the exact location of this entity, Yun Xiao simply gave up and walked around the Jade Pot Cave. With three days at his disposal, he hoped to encounter this so-called mysterious power or whatever was calling him.

Time quickly passed, and a day was gone!

When the uncertain time of either morning or afternoon of the second day arrived, Yun Xiao, feeling somewhat tired, casually found a spot to sit cross-legged and began to operate the Ancient Dragon Taming Technique to restore his physical strength.

After wandering around for more than a day, although he hadn’t found the mysterious power or the calling entity, Yun Xiao was certain of one thing—that the ninth layer of the Jade Pot Cave was indeed safe.

Therefore, Yun Xiao was not concerned about the sudden appearance of a powerful Vein Demon attacking him; as soon as he sat down, the Ancient Dragon Taming Technique silently started to operate.

”Eh?”

However, as Yun Xiao operated this magical Cultivation Technique, his eyes suddenly widened, and then he seemed to see, from the originally empty air, strands of a special aura swarming toward him.

Yun Xiao was certain that these special auras were not the usual Heaven and Earth Energy used for cultivation but something he had never encountered before—a tremendously majestic energy.

”Could this be the mysterious power that Senior Sister Mo Qing talked about?”

Sensing these special auras, Yun Xiao was both shocked and delighted. Truth be told, after searching the ninth layer for over a day, he was tired and even getting agitated. Discovering something under such circumstances naturally made him ecstatic.

At this moment, Yun Xiao seemed to understand something; the strange energy in the air had appeared silently because he had operated the Ancient Dragon Taming Technique.

What Yun Xiao didn’t know was that what he was inducing was indeed the mysterious power of the ninth layer of the Jade Pot Cave, but if the past Jade Pot Sect experts who had possessed this power saw this, they would probably be so shocked that their eyeballs would fall out.

Those experts who had induced this mysterious power in the past could usually summon only a thread or even half a thread of it, but that was already infinitely useful to them.

But here was Yun Xiao, whose induction of the mysterious power was continuous and might be due to the magic of the Ancient Dragon Taming Technique or some other reason. At this moment, the fortune he was obtaining was much greater than any Jade Pot Sect expert who had entered this layer of the Jade Pot Cave.

However, at this particular moment, Yun Xiao had no time to ponder these thoughts; the mysterious power, led by the Ancient Dragon Taming Technique, continuously entered his meridians within his body and eventually transformed into pure Meridian Qi, stored within him.

Yun Xiao clearly felt that this mysterious power not only rapidly enhanced his Meridian Qi Cultivation but also refined his Physical Strength, and this refining speed seemed not much different than when he initially encountered Stone Heart Marrow.

With this sentiment, Yun Xiao had reasons to believe that perhaps in just another day and a half, he might achieve another breakthrough—a genuinely tremendous fortune indeed.

”Hmm?”

However, just as Yun Xiao was overjoyed, he suddenly discovered that some of the mysterious power absorbed into his body had vanished and hadn’t enhanced his Physical Strength or Meridian Qi.

Startled, Yun Xiao activated his Inner Vision Eye, and upon inspection, he finally understood, yet felt both amused and helpless, because the vanished power was actually absorbed by the Golden Snake Worm.

If it had been earlier, Yun Xiao would have been furious and tried every possible way to contest the energy with the Golden Snake Worm. However, ever since he had leveraged the power of the Golden Snake Worm inside the Meridian Treasure, his mindset had changed.

If it weren’t for the power of the Golden Snake Worm that one time, Yun Xiao might not only have failed to obtain the Dragon Summoning Tree but might have also lost his life under the hands of that strict Royal Family powerhouse.

From that moment on, Yun Xiao gained a new understanding of the Golden Snake Worm. Although the little creature acted because of the Dragon Summoning Tree, since the two were one, they would likely depend on each other for life going forward. The strength of the Golden Snake Worm might also save him in some critical moments.
