Inheriting A Divine Cultivation Clan At The Start, All My Juniors Are Empresses

Chapter 1286: Chapter 352: A Spirit Beast Named Xiba

Today, Yuchi is thinking about two things. These two things seem unrelated, but both are quite important.

”The first thing is, Ascension Gate is severely lacking funds. After spending fifty million on advancing to a higher level, we are left with only 1.5 million Dao Points. Then, after the disciples used some, we now have just over 800,000 Dao Points left.”

800,000 Dao Points might last for about half a year. This is mainly because Ascension Gate’s level is relatively high, which helps save on Elixir costs. Otherwise, with the costs of Elixirs and the expense of several demons learning about Medicinal Herbs, it would be exceedingly expensive.

So now, we must find a way to make money quickly.

There is a way to make money, which is to seek help from the lovely Cloud Descending Sect.

”I remember I’ve stored quite a lot of gold and silver in Cloud Descending Sect. I need to find out the location of Cloud Descending Sect first, at least arrange for their leader, and then take my gold and silver. This way, I can solve the urgent financial issue of Ascension Gate. But Cloud Descending Sect is rather hard to locate, so I’ll need to inquire from the locals or go back and ask Yinghan.”

That wraps up the first thing. Of course, besides this first thing, Yuchi feels there’s a second thing to do.

”Mahjong.”

This may seem like a leap in thought, but Yuchi plans to promote various forms of Mahjong from his past life. Looking at this world, Mahjong doesn’t exist as an entertainment form. The common forms of entertainment are mainly found in places like brothels, although that’s not the most important point.

”The most important point is that Jiangnan needs its own cultural foundation.”

Yuchi believes this is critical. Culture is not something fake or superficial; it’s like a hometown dish—each place has its unique culture, which helps locals maintain their identity even after leaving.

Jiangnan needs its own culture. In the future, culture will be emphasized, whether it’s Mahjong, various ball games, or other miscellaneous things. These things don’t need to spread to other regions but should circulate within Jiangnan.

Thus, through culture, we can spiritually attract more people. Calling it ’brainwashing’ is excessive, but at least it can increase local people’s sense of belonging to Jiangnan. Otherwise, today Jiangnan succeeds in one thing, and tomorrow someone imitates it and does something similar elsewhere.

This is rather troublesome.

And culture cannot be copied easily.

A world without cultural identity is like a rootless duckweed, drifting everywhere.

”Therefore, Mahjong should be promoted as a cultural element, giving Jiangnan a shot of adrenaline on a cultural level. Even if others want to imitate, it would be nothing but a hollow shell without soul. Jiangnan’s people might just find it amusing that other towns are trying to do similar things, as they’ve only learned the surface.”

”This is like the Immortal Robe Pavilion. Is there any difficulty in learning the model of the Immortal Robe Pavilion? Not really, but for such a long time, no one in Jiangzhou City has successfully copied the Immortal Robe Pavilion. This is because the clothing culture of Immortal Robe Pavilion is unique and hard to replicate.”

”Failing to replicate it would just turn it into a laughing stock.”

In the past, a lot of traditional culture was lost, too.

People called it being outdated, but with the loss of culture, many things like a sense of belonging are also lost, leading to an uneasy mind. Over time, things become more complicated. Cultural invasion is more terrifying than mere firearms and cannons.

”Mahjong should be placed directly under the Jiangnan United Commerce Association, putting this honor there. Promotion would be much easier. Of course, to promote something, there must be a gimmick. I could find the Courtesan Lady.”

”Once Jiangnan calms down temporarily, I will bring the Courtesan Lady over. By then, I will teach these Courtesan Ladies how to play Mahjong. Spreading from the top down is easier than from the common people to the upper echelons. Then I’ll roll out other entertainment activities.”

”The Jiangnan United Commerce Association is definitely not a cold, emotionless entity. It not only maintains the stability of the business but also stands up for the people and aims to forge Jiangnan’s strong culture.”

Yuchi thought about some games from his past life.

In those games, one either conquered others through culture, economy, or Combat Power. Jiangnan must be strong in all three aspects. This is not something to be taken lightly, as neglecting even one rule could lead to endless troubles.

”I’m sure finding the Courtesan Lady won’t be an issue. She will definitely give face to Old Honest Yuchi. Teaching them is a matter of one or two days. These Courtesan Ladies aren’t ordinary; their collective wisdom is the peak among women.”

”Hmm.”

”Then it’s decided.”

”I’ll first spend time dealing with the Cloud Descending Sect. Once that’s sorted, the timing should be right to bring the Courtesan Ladies into Jiangnan when things stabilize, causing a new wave in Jiangnan!”
