Chapter 2296: Chapter 2296: The Great Demon Lord Is a Woman

The Emperor Weapon Moon God Bell has been lost, yet the Great Demon Lord of the Ten Thousand Demon Mountain is not the least bit anxious.

Upon hearing the Great Demon Lord instructing him to leave first, the One-Armed Demon Lord was quite astonished. He had been the Second Demon Lord of the Ten Thousand Demon Mountain for a very long time, and during all those years, he had seen many powerful figures targeting the Emperor Weapon Moon God Bell. But all those people eventually died at or were defeated by the hands of the Great Demon Lord. Up to now, few dared covet the Moon God Bell anymore.

It was precisely because of this confidence that the Great Demon Lord let the Youlong Demon Lord take the Moon God Bell out. Originally, the city-cleansing operation was foolproof but met with an unforeseen event, allowing the bell to fall into the hands of the summoned being named Jing Yan.

”Yes!” the One-Armed Demon Lord responded.

Facing the Great Demon Lord, he dared not defy him; since the Great Demon Lord had claimed to know, he needn’t say more.

After the One-Armed Demon Lord left the mountain peak, the Great Demon Lord stood quietly for a long time.

The mountain wind howled!

No one knew how much time had passed before the Great Demon Lord finally moved.

”Perhaps... I should go personally,” a pleasant voice came from the Great Demon Lord’s mouth.

If anyone else were here to hear the Great Demon Lord’s voice at this moment, they might be shocked.

Because this voice was not a man’s voice at all.

When the Second Demon Lord, the One-Armed Demon Lord, was present, the Great Demon Lord’s voice was hoarse and heavy. But now, with only the Great Demon Lord on the peak, the gentle voice was distinctly female.

Could it be that the Great Demon Lord of the Ten Thousand Demon Mountain is a woman?

If this news spread, the cultivators of the entire Iron Bay would find it unbelievable.

The Great Demon Lord of the Ten Thousand Demon Mountain seldom appeared publicly; most of the time, the other four Demon Lords led the city-cleansing actions. Yet almost all cultivators in Iron Bay and even those in all of Nightmare City’s Eighteen Bays believed that the Great Demon Lord was an overwhelmingly powerful male cultivator.

Even the other four Demon Lords of the Ten Thousand Demon Mountain had always assumed the Great Demon Lord was male. These four Demon Lords had never seen the true face of the Great Demon Lord either.

”I should go,” the Great Demon Lord again said softly.

Then, her figure flickered slightly and vanished without a trace from the highest peak of the Ten Thousand Demon Mountain.

...

”Folks, why is there no movement from the Ten Thousand Demon Mountain?”

In a grand palace, Tian Ba Overlord asked with a frown.

Here, besides Tian Ba Overlord, there were other Overlords from Iron Bay present.

They had not long left Bai City before gathering together. In their view, once Jing Yan took the Moon God Bell, the Ten Thousand Demon Mountain would surely take significant action at once. Even if they did not take revenge on Bai City, they would certainly do everything possible to reclaim the Moon God Bell.

Their opinion was unanimous. In their eyes, though Jing Yan was strong, perhaps stronger than all of them combined, he couldn’t possibly hold onto the Emperor Weapon Moon God Bell. If Jing Yan did not return the Moon God Bell to the Ten Thousand Demon Mountain, the Great Demon Lord would likely kill him to get it back.

So, they gathered together, all awaiting the next move of the Ten Thousand Demon Mountain.

In Bai City, they suggested to Jing Yan to let them handle the Moon God Bell. Jing Yan, however, neither agreed nor handed over the bell. Therefore, these Overlords harbored much dissatisfaction toward Jing Yan. Among them, only Bu Yun Overlord didn’t want to see Jing Yan perish at the hands of the Great Demon Lord.

They waited and waited, yet there was no movement whatsoever from the Ten Thousand Demon Mountain, prompting confusion.

”It’s indeed peculiar. What is that Great Demon Lord of the Ten Thousand Demon Mountain thinking?” Niu Yan Overlord shook his head.

”This Great Demon Lord is certainly not soft-hearted. How can he remain calm with the loss of the Moon God Bell?” Zong Ming Overlord’s face was full of doubt.

”I just can’t understand it, I truly can’t,” Tian Ba Overlord stood up.

”Even if the Great Demon Lord had delays preventing him from going to Bai City himself, the other Demon Lords should be taking action, right?” Niu Yan Overlord added.

”The current situation is that there isn’t the slightest sign of activity from the entire Ten Thousand Demon Mountain, as if the Moon God Bell was never lost. But we all clearly saw Jing Yan take the Moon God Bell,” Tian Ba Overlord said.

”Hmph, no matter what, I don’t believe the Great Demon Lord would abandon the Moon God Bell. I think the Great Demon Lord will certainly go to Bai City to retrieve it,” Bu Yun Overlord remarked swiftly.

As these Overlords were gathered and discussing, the Great Demon Lord of the Ten Thousand Demon Mountain had already quietly arrived at Bai City.

Wearing a blue long robe, upon arriving at Bai City, the Great Demon Lord did not enter the city directly.

She hovered above the city, watching as the cultivators within restored the many damaged buildings. Her face was hidden behind a Ghost Face Mask, obscuring any change in expression.

Initially, she hovered over the city for a long time without anyone within noticing her. It wasn’t until much later that a cultivator, inadvertently looking up, saw her silhouette.

”Why is there someone above our Bai City?”

”What? Where?”

”Look, just hovering there. Who is that? Is that one of our Bai City cultivators?”

The cultivator who first discovered the Great Demon Lord’s silhouette spoke to the person next to him.

”Indeed! Wearing a mask, probably not one of our Bai City cultivators, right?” someone said.

”Hmm, likely not a Bai City cultivator,” another person remarked, frowning.

”I know, this person must have heard how we defended against the city-cleansing of the Ten Thousand Demon Mountain and came to join us in Bai City. Yes, that must be it.” someone said with a knowing look.

”Yes, yes, that’s it. In the future, more and more powerful figures will come to join Bai City, and our Bai City will become more prosperous,” the cultivators became excited.

”But why is he not coming in? We... better report this to the Bai Family quickly,” someone proposed.

The message quickly reached the Bai Family Mansion.

Bai Wentai, the Bai Family Patriarch, also received the news.

”Oh? So soon, we have powerful figures coming to join Bai City? This is excellent news!” Bai Wentai said in surprise and delight upon hearing this.

Bai City was, after all, the Bai Family’s city, and the more powerful figures joined, the happier the Bai Family would be, hoping for as many strong cultivators within Bai City as possible.

”Patriarch, that person remains hovering over the city, not entering the city. Should I go and have a look?” a Bai Family elder proposed.

”No, I should personally take a look. This is the first cultivator to come to us after the city-cleansing by the Ten Thousand Demon Mountain. We must show our sincerity and attitude,” Bai Wentai said vigorously, waving his hand.

The Bai Family elder nodded in agreement.

Subsequently, Bai Wentai set out. Upon looking up in the courtyard, his entire body trembled slightly, almost collapsing to the ground.
