The Sword God of the Universe

Chapter 2131: Begging for Mercy

The appearance of Wuxia Heavenly Monarch caused Ying Zhu and the others to adopt solemn and respectful expressions, including the group surrounding Lord Zu Ming.

Just a moment ago, Wuxia Heavenly Monarch had taken action to kill the Immortal Rhythmic Strong People, Ji Bian. In the Blue Rain Divine Continent, Wuxia Heavenly Monarch had seldom made her move; her management of the continent’s order had remained relatively stable. She largely prohibited wars and killings between territories. However, if there was a reason to start a war, Wuxia Heavenly Monarch would not easily interfere in territorial matters.

To a cultivator at Wuxia Heavenly Monarch’s level, the addition or subtraction of territories in the Divine Continent made no difference. If she were to personally address every dispute, wouldn’t she be overwhelmed? Besides, disputes between cultivators cannot be completely forbidden; without killing and fighting, the progress in martial arts would slow down, which applies universally.

”Jing Yan greets Wuxia Heavenly Monarch.” Jing Yan cupped his hands toward Wuxia Heavenly Monarch.

Wuxia Heavenly Monarch’s lips seemed to curve into a more pronounced smile. She was certainly confident in her appearance; it wasn’t uncommon for those at the Immortal Rhythm level to lose composure in front of her. Jing Yan’s behavior strengthened her belief in the exceptional stability of his Divine Soul.

”Fellow Daoist Jing Yan, you are not a native cultivator of the Blue Rain Divine Continent, are you? May I ask, where do you hail from?” Wuxia Heavenly Monarch inquired.

She also posed such a question.

Actually, it was expected. She was in charge of the Blue Rain Divine Continent and generally had insights into the exceptional cultivators within the continent. Even young promising talents were tracked and reported to her regularly. Yet, this Jing Yan seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. There was no related information about Jing Yan within her residence.

”I come from a remote place. That place doesn’t even have a name and is completely insignificant.” Jing Yan replied.

”Heh...” Wuxia Heavenly Monarch chuckled softly.

She didn’t believe Jing Yan’s words but did not continue to question.

”Fellow Daoist Jing Yan, your strength is truly unimaginable. Just stepping into the Nether Sky Realm, you can suppress an Immortal Rhythm level like Ji Bian. Although you are only at the Nether Sky Realm, your strength can almost rank in the top ten within the Blue Rain Divine Continent.” Wuxia Heavenly Monarch continued.

”Heavenly Monarch, you overpraise me!” Jing Yan didn’t know if Wuxia Heavenly Monarch had a special motive for saying such things, so he casually replied.

”I speak only facts, with no exaggeration. Fellow Daoist Jing Yan, I wonder when you might have time. I would like to have more exchanges.” Wuxia Heavenly Monarch said, her violet eyes slightly turning.

”Oh?” Jing Yan felt a subtle stirring in his heart.

Originally, Jing Yan indeed wished to contact Wuxia Heavenly Monarch as he wished to enter the Yellow Spring Cave. But now, having stepped into the Nether Sky Realm, by rule, he couldn’t enter the Yellow Spring Cave anymore, even if it was opened, he could only watch. Unable to enter the Yellow Spring Cave, his intention to interact with Wuxia Heavenly Monarch faded. Yet now, Wuxia Heavenly Monarch proactively spoke such words.

Wuxia Heavenly Monarch’s strength, Jing Yan had also seen, was absolutely not something he could contend with now. To kill Ji Bian with one move, Jing Yan’s Ancient Tree Inheritance, Void Space, and Divine Soul Attack Technique were probably not much of a threat here. He wasn’t thoroughly acquainted with Wuxia Heavenly Monarch, and in such uncertain circumstances, Jing Yan felt he should give Wuxia Heavenly Monarch due respect.

”Heavenly Monarch, you are too courteous. Perhaps in a few days, I will personally visit Wuxia City?” Jing Yan paused slightly before saying.

”Very well, then I shall await you in Wuxia City.” Wuxia Heavenly Monarch laughed lightly.

”Heavenly Monarch, help... help me!” Lord Zu Ming, seeing Wuxia Heavenly Monarch seemingly about to leave, couldn’t hold back any longer, knowing he couldn’t remain silent anymore.

As the situation presently showed, only Wuxia Heavenly Monarch could save him. If Wuxia Heavenly Monarch did not intervene, he would surely not survive leaving the Divine Martial City today. As for the group he brought, perhaps some could survive if they fled, but he, Zu Ming, certainly wouldn’t be among them.

The logic is simple, Jing Yan might spare others, but would never spare him, Zu Ming. There’s no need to think deeply; the first person Jing Yan would want to kill is undoubtedly him, the lord.

Wuxia Heavenly Monarch heard Zu Ming’s plea, her gaze turned, fixating upon Lord Zu Ming.

”Lord Zu Ming, your Zu Family Territory declared war on the Ying Family Territory, and I did not interfere. You brought people to Divine Martial City, and I didn’t show myself until just now. Now, you feel endangered and seek my help. Do you think I would assist you?” Wuxia Heavenly Monarch’s voice turned cold.

In fact, Wuxia Heavenly Monarch had not intervened in the dispute between the Zu Family and the Ying Family. She had only taken action to kill Ji Bian, a rogue Immortal Rhythmic Strong People she had personally warned against misdeeds within the Blue Rain Divine Continent.

Lord Zu Ming’s face darkened.

”Heavenly Monarch, you must save me. If you don’t save me, I won’t survive.” Zu Ming even began showing signs of being unreasonable, completely disregarding any dignity.

At this point, dignity was indeed not important. Survival was the most crucial.

Jing Yan coldly watched Zu Ming.

”Zu Ming, this matter, I won’t intervene; it is between you and Lord Ying Zhu.” Wuxia Heavenly Monarch shook her head.

Upon hearing Wuxia Heavenly Monarch’s words, Lord Zu Ming’s spirit waned even more, but soon, his eyes brightened slightly.

Yes! Lord Ying Zhu!

This was indeed between his Zu Family Territory and the Ying Family Territory. If Lord Ying Zhu could spare him, perhaps Jing Yan wouldn’t continue to pursue him either?

”Lord Ying Zhu, spare me! This time, the Zu Family Territory waged war on the Ying Family Territory, I was truly compelled! It was all Ji Bian’s idea; being an Immortal Rhythmic Strong People, I had no choice before him!” Zu Ming didn’t even mention the matter of his adopted son being killed, as it was utterly meaningless; everyone knew it was but a part of Zu Ming’s plan.

Ying Zhu glanced at Zu Ming, then at Jing Yan.

”Lord Ying Zhu, your territory nearly faced annihilation at Zu Ming’s hands today.” Jing Yan said with a faint tone.

Lord Ying Zhu nodded slightly.

”Lord Zu Ming, why did you and Ji Bian declare war on my Ying Family? My Ying Family is just an ordinary lord family; the resources within the territory are not abundant. We have never previously offended the Zu Family. I wish to know, why?” Ying Zhu inquired.

”It... it was all because of that Virtualization Treasure! At the auction hosted by Chunyu Bo, you commissioned the auction of an Immortal Charm Voidification Treasure, which I acquired. Ji Bian saw this Magic Treasure and speculated you had more powerful Virtualization Treasures, or even Virtualization Techniques. So, he wanted to obtain these things and made me declare war on your Ying Family Territory.” Zu Ming quickly explained.
