The Sword God of the Universe

Chapter 2117: No Response

The gap between the Ying Family Territory and the Zu Family Territory is too vast. Once the army from the Zu Family Territory arrives, the result is bound to be a one-sided crush; the Ying Family Territory cannot withstand the Zu Family.

What Lord Ying Zhu does not understand is why the Zu Family has gone to such lengths to deal with them, as neither he nor the whole Ying Family Territory seem to have offended the Zu Family.

But pondering this now is meaningless, as the Zu Family army might have already departed from their territory and could descend upon the Ying Family Territory at any moment. The most pressing matter is to request the intervention of Lord Wuxia Heavenly Monarch. In the entire Blue Rain Divine Continent, perhaps only Lord Wuxia Heavenly Monarch can stop the Zu Family.

Blue Rain Divine Continent, Wuxia City!

Heavenly Monarch Mansion!

This is the residence of Lord Wuxia Heavenly Monarch. Inside the mansion, in a grand hall.

A bright woman in a deep purple gown, with purple hair and purple eyes, sits on a translucent jade throne.

She is Lord Wuxia Heavenly Monarch.

The fame of Lord Wuxia Heavenly Monarch surpasses that of most Heavenly Monarchs controlling the Divine Continent. Her name is widely known across the vast lands, not only for her personal cultivation but also for her beauty.

It is rumored that even Immortal Rhythm Netherworld Realm Cultivators, upon seeing Lord Wuxia Heavenly Monarch, are seldom unaffected by her beauty. This even includes female Immortal Realm Cultivators.

”Lord Heavenly Monarch, should we respond to Lord Zu Ming?” A woman in black clothing stands opposite Lord Wuxia Heavenly Monarch in the great hall and asks.

Not long ago, the Zu Family Territory sent a message to Heavenly Monarch Mansion. The Zu Family Territory intends to declare war on the Ying Family Territory. Before making a move, Zu Ming detailed the events and reasons behind the war to Lord Wuxia Heavenly Monarch.

”No response necessary,” said Lord Wuxia Heavenly Monarch, her expression unchanged, in a calm tone.

The woman in black slightly furrowed her brows; she knew that if Lord Wuxia Heavenly Monarch didn’t respond to Lord Zu Ming, it would mean tacitly allowing the Zu Family Territory’s declaration of war.

Which also means, the Ying Family Territory is in grave danger.

”Lord Heavenly Monarch, Lord Zu Ming said his adopted son You Dan was killed by Lord Ying Zhu. He’s declaring war on the Ying Family for revenge. But according to our intelligence, that Peak of All Things Realm Cultivator named You Dan was sent by the Zu Ming Sect to the Ying Family Territory, where he indiscriminately killed the innocent, forcing Lord Ying Zhu to act. Moreover, the cultivator named You Dan sought death willingly,” said the woman in black.

She was not questioning the Heavenly Monarch, merely stating the facts.

Lord Wuxia Heavenly Monarch stood up and raised her alabaster-like arm, her lips curling slightly.

”Did Lord Ying Zhu ask for help?” Lord Wuxia Heavenly Monarch asked.

”Yes, right after the Zu Family Territory declared war on the Ying Family Territory, Lord Ying Zhu sent a message here for help. He hopes Lord Heavenly Monarch will intervene in this matter. Lord Ying Zhu also said he was framed,” nodded the woman in black.

”Don’t you feel it’s unusual for Zu Ming to go through so much trouble against the Ying Family? Why would he do this? That You Dan must be a Death Soldier he invested heavily in cultivating. To deal with the Ying Family, he sacrificed even such a Death Soldier. If there weren’t a special reason, why would he do such a thing?” Lord Wuxia Heavenly Monarch’s purple eyes narrowed.

The woman in black agreed, sensing Zu Ming had other motives. The Ying Family is a minor third-rate territory with few resources, even if Zu Ming takes over the Ying Family Territory, it would be a loss.

”So, let’s wait and see. No need to respond to either Zu Ming or Ying Zhu,” Lord Wuxia Heavenly Monarch said.

She was also curious why Zu Ming would do this and why he would meticulously target the Ying Family.

Divine Martial City, Lord Ying Zhu’s residence.

In the spacious hall, Lord Ying Zhu himself, along with several Nether Sky Realm Guests, were present, including Mr. Juyu.

In addition, there were several offspring of the lord, Second Young Master, Third Young Master, Sixth Lady, and Seventh Young Master Ying Zuo, all of whom were in the hall in Divine Martial City.

”Lord, Lord Heavenly Monarch has kept silent all along. I think we cannot count on Lord Heavenly Monarch to intervene in this matter,” Mr. Juyu said.

Mr. Juyu is not merely an ordinary guest but also an aide and the most trusted advisor of Lord Ying Zhu.

Lord Ying Zhu felt helpless. He also knew if no reply had come from Lord Wuxia Heavenly Monarch by now, it meant she wouldn’t involve herself in the conflict between the Ying Family Territory and the Zu Family Territory.

”Father, if Lord Heavenly Monarch doesn’t involve herself, we cannot withstand the attack from the Zu Family Territory. What should we do?” Third Young Master asked anxiously.

He knew well that if the Zu Family Territory army arrived, Divine Martial City couldn’t resist. Once the city was breached, they—the descendants of the lord—would face a high risk of death. As noble progeny in Divine Martial City and the entire Ying Family Territory, no one dared disrespect them. But the people from the Zu Family Territory would not care about their status, and a single clash in battle could cost them their lives.

Who wants to die?

Facing death, how many can remain calm?

Lord Ying Zhu did not respond to Third Young Master’s inquiry. He remained silent, a grim expression on his face.

Suddenly, Mr. Juyu took out his Communication Magical Treasure and reviewed the message, his face changing suddenly.

”Lord, people from the Zu Family Territory are here! Lord Zu Ming himself is leading a group of powerful cultivators and has entered the Ying Family Territory, heading straight for Divine Martial City,” Mr. Juyu said rapidly.

The atmosphere in the hall was heavy.

Everyone knew that the Zu Family Territory would surely come, but when they heard Mr. Juyu’s words now, their hearts shook.

”What do they want!” Lord Ying Zhu took a deep breath, his voice filled with grief and anger.

”Lord, we have attempted to communicate with Lord Zu Ming several times but received no response,” Mr. Juyu paused to say, ”I fear, Lord Zu Ming is determined to destroy the Ying Family Territory.”

”Prepare for battle!” Lord Ying Zhu said, waving his arm.

In Divine Martial City, many cultivators have already heard the news, and some have left the city in advance, fearing collateral damage. Regarding those who flee, Lord Ying Zhu does not try to control them forcibly.

You can’t expect everyone to risk their lives for you.

At present, Divine Martial City is somewhat chaotic, though overall it’s still calm. Many commercial enterprises have ceased operations on the streets. On the streets, guards from the Lord Mansion can be seen maintaining order. If you choose to leave Divine Martial City for refuge now, Lord Ying Zhu won’t stop you, but trying to take advantage of the situation is courting death.
