Chapter 1967: Chapter 1967: The Fall of the Ancient Tree Elder

Upon hearing the words of the Ancient Vine Elder, Jing Yan suddenly understood.

While he was in Endless Chaos, although he was close to the Controller Level, his cultivation time was indeed short. Jing Yan knew very little about much of the more hidden information. In Hongjun Heavenly Palace, Jing Yan had also never actively mentioned his identity as a Guardian of the Ancient Tree Space, so people close to him, like Nuwa Palace Master and others, naturally wouldn’t bring up the Ancient Tree Space without reason.

”Young Master, the Ancient Tree Space has various Body Refining Secret Methods, and the most powerful is the owner’s Ancient Tree Inheritance. There are other Body Refining Secret Methods which are also at the top Chaos Level, yet they still fall short of the Ancient Tree Inheritance.”

”And the Ancient Tree Inheritance is also the most difficult Secret Technique to cultivate. Only someone like the owner can be considered a true Guardian. In terms of status, it’s akin to being the King of a Chaos Country within Chaos. Well, the situation is similar anyway. The owner has also imparted the Ancient Tree Inheritance to other members of the Ancient Tree Space, but those members have hardly made any progress. However, some Chaos Creatures have made relatively significant progress.”

”But over the long years, among the Chaos Creatures, the only one I know who has mastered the Ancient Tree Inheritance up to the seventh layer is you, Young Master.” The Ancient Vine Elder’s aged face once again showed a smile.

”Well, it seems I am rather fortunate.” Jing Yan also smiled.

Suddenly changing his tone, Jing Yan asked: ”Brother Gute, how did the Ancestor Ancient Tree actually fall?”

In Jing Yan’s view, the strength of the Ancient Tree Elder must be exceedingly powerful, at least comparable to those few giant figures among the Title Controllers, if not stronger. Because, while cultivating the Hongmeng Dao Pattern and the Ancient Tree Inheritance at the same time, Jing Yan vaguely sensed that the ultimate of the Ancient Tree Inheritance might be stronger than the Hongmeng Dao Pattern.

Although not certain yet, Jing Yan had this feeling. And the Hongmeng Dao Pattern is the Palace Secret Method of Hongjun Heavenly Palace, and also Ancestor Hong Jun’s strongest technique.

Thus Jing Yan felt that the strength of the Ancient Tree Elder was at least at the level of Hongmeng Ancestor. And what kind of existence could lead to such fall?

”Young Master, since you have already mastered the seventh layer of Ancient Tree Inheritance, you are indeed the true Guardian of Ancient Tree Space. There are some things I should tell you.” The Ancient Vine Elder’s expression became serious.

Jing Yan listened attentively with a solemn expression.

”I will speak slowly, and you listen carefully.” The Ancient Vine Elder fell into reminiscence.

His essence was actually a vine from the Primordial Chaos Tree, so he knew many affairs.

”At the beginning of chaos, there was the Primordial Chaos Tree. The Primordial Chaos Tree nurtured Chaos Material, forming a continent. The original continent is now called the Ultimate Land, but now only the main body remains. Material evolved into life, and these lives over countless years created various powerful spells, starting to slaughter each other for material.”

”In the slaughter, the Ultimate Land was continuously damaged, scattered fragments spread, gradually forming countless calculable big and small Chaos Continents. The seeds of the Primordial Chaos Tree also continuously nurtured one universe after another.”

”As more life emerged, the slaughter grew increasingly severe. The Primordial Chaos Tree, unable to bear witnessing it, attempted to use some methods to stop the lives from slaughtering each other. But this brought calamity upon the Primordial Chaos Tree, as those lives suddenly discovered the Ancient Tree Space and gradually understood the benefits of the Primordial Chaos Tree to life cultivation. Driven by greed, they set their sights on the body of the Primordial Chaos Tree.” As the Ancient Vine Elder spoke this part, obvious anger appeared in his eyes.

Jing Yan nodded silently.

A leaf of the Primordial Chaos Tree had such amazing effects. Those Chaos Creatures would certainly want to obtain it.

”No matter how huge the Primordial Chaos Tree was, it couldn’t withstand all the endless Chaos Creatures plundering its leaves and so on. So, for self-preservation, the Primordial Chaos Tree began to actively nurture a type of life form, which is the current life of the Ancient Tree Space. The lives of Ancient Tree Space are born strong, blessed by the Primordial Chaos Tree, naturally able to master extremely powerful Secret Techniques.”

”With Guardians, the space of the Primordial Chaos Tree gradually stabilized. Those Chaos Creatures were slowly driven out.”

”But the matter wasn’t over here. Around some time, a kind of monster known as the Heaven Devouring Clan Mother appeared in Chaos. These monsters crazily devoured Chaos Material, then spawned locust-like Devouring Heaven Clan creatures. Each Devouring Heaven Clan life instinctively knew to devour everything; as long as it was Chaos Material, there was nothing they couldn’t absorb. As they continued to devour, they grew stronger, while the Chaos Creatures grew weaker.”

”In the beginning, we didn’t know how these Heaven Devouring Clan Mothers appeared. My master began to leave the Ancient Tree Space to investigate, and, at that time, I followed my master. After years of investigation, the master discovered that behind the Heaven Devouring Clan Mothers, there seemed to be a hand. This hand reached in from Beyond Chaos. These Heaven Devouring Clan Mothers continuously spawned Devouring Heaven Clan creatures, and they are not only enemies of Chaos Creatures but also the Emperor of Life and Death for the Primordial Chaos Tree. Since the master found a clue, he wouldn’t abandon it.”

”For this reason, the master ultimately fell. When the master fell, I didn’t know what had happened, only that he encountered an extremely terrifying enemy, an enemy even the master couldn’t stand against. The master had never met such a terrifying opponent in all his time in Chaos, and he couldn’t escape alive.” The Ancient Vine Elder’s body slightly trembled.

”Subsequent events you probably know, young master; the master used his last power to create this relic, leaving forty-nine Spirit Talismans, giving the Chaos Creatures a chance.” The Ancient Vine Elder sighed softly.

Only then did Jing Yan somewhat understand the process of the Ancient Tree Elder’s fall.

Understanding this point made Jing Yan increasingly anxious. The Devouring Heaven Clan creatures are so difficult to deal with; if there’s still a hand behind them controlling everything, and even the Ancient Tree Elder couldn’t resist it, what kind of enemy could this be?

Is that enemy singular, or plural?

Such an enemy deliberately set the Heaven Devouring Clan Mother into this chaos, with very apparent ill intent.

Fortunately, due to the appearance of the Devouring Heaven Clan Creatures, the Chaos Creatures realized the real crisis, and they became united. If not for the Devouring Heaven Clan Creatures, the Slaughter God Temple wouldn’t have been established, nor would the Five Lands and Seven Countries cooperate. At least, for now, they are united on the surface against the Devouring Heaven Clan creatures.
