The Sword God of the Universe

Chapter 857: Chapter 857: Old 4 Old 5

Old Six and Old Seven naturally remembered when Jing Yan first came to the Death Abyss, he was merely at the Daoist Master Realm.

At that time, Jing Yan first broke through to the Daoist King Realm and then advanced to the Dao Emperor Realm inside the Death Abyss.

After stepping into the Dao Emperor Realm, Jing Yan had defeated them both and obtained the second part of the Sky Vaulting First Divine Skill inheritance before leaving the Death Abyss.

Had it been less than ten years since, that he had entered the Saint Realm?

”I have indeed entered the Saint Realm, and you remember correctly; it has been less than ten years since I last left the Death Abyss,” Jing Yan laughed.

”Amazing, truly amazing! Brother Four and Brother Five probably did not see it coming! Jing Yan, are you here this time to enter the Death Temple and obtain the third part of the inheritance?” Old Seven asked, barely containing his anticipation.

These Life Puppets, their duty is to guard the Death Temple and the inheritance of the Sky Vaulting First Divine Skill. If someone were to obtain the complete inheritance, they could be relatively free for a while. At least, they could leave the Death Abyss with Jing Yan to see the outside world.

”Yes, I am here to enter inside the Death Temple to gain more of the inheritance,” said Jing Yan, his eyes narrowing.

”Since you’ve decided, come with us! However, this little girl has to wait outside,” Old Six said, looking towards Bai Xue.

”Can’t Bai Xue enter with me?” Jing Yan frowned.

”No, that’s the rule. If you want to bring an outsider into the Death Temple, you must defeat our eldest brother. If you can do that, you can bring anyone you wish inside the Death Temple!” Old Six said.

”Then, I’ll wait outside!” Bai Xue spoke up.

Although she also wanted to go inside and was worried about Jing Yan’s safety, she couldn’t bring trouble to Jing Yan. Since the Life Puppet didn’t allow her to go, how could she insist?

”Alright!”

”Bai Xue, you wait here for me, you can use the Divine Crystals to cultivate and improve your cultivation base,” Jing Yan instructed.

When they were inside Qian Kun Small World, Jing Yan gave Bai Xue some ninth-level elixirs and Divine Crystals. Bai Xue being in the Dao Emperor Realm could absorb the energy within the Divine Crystals.

Moments later, Jing Yan followed old Six and Old Seven, entering the Death Temple.

”Brother Four, Brother Five, come out!”

As soon as they entered, Old Seven yelled at the top of his lungs.

”Whoosh!” Two astonishing presences appeared in a flash, and amid flickering lights and shadows, Jing Yan saw two additional figures nearby.

Clearly, these figures were none other than Old Four and Old Five.

Jing Yan’s expression grew severe.

The aura emanating from Old Four and Old Five was exceedingly formidable, much stronger than that of Old Six and Old Seven. Old Six and Old Seven had not spoken idly when they said that without stepping into the Saint Realm, Jing Yan absolutely stood no chance against Brother Four and Five.

Even when Jing Yan was at the peak of the Dao Emperor Realm, battling against Old Four and Old Five, he had absolutely no odds of winning.

”Old Seven, what are you yelling about?” one of the figures shouted.

”Hehe, Brother Five, Jing Yan is here; he wants to challenge you,” Old Seven chuckled.

Since Jing Yan left the Death Abyss for the first time, Old Six and Old Seven had frequently mentioned Jing Yan to the other Life Puppets, so Old Four and Old Five were aware of who Jing Yan was.

”So, you are Jing Yan?” Old Five looked at Jing Yan.

”That’s right!” Jing Yan nodded; the primordial energy within his Purple Mansion subtly began to circulate.

”It seems you wish to challenge me and Brother Four, so let’s begin! Remember, if you can’t hold on any longer, immediately admit defeat, and we will stop attacking. If you refuse to admit defeat, we will keep attacking you until you die. Moreover, even if you admit defeat, we might still accidentally kill you if we cannot stop in time!” Old Five said in a deep voice to Jing Yan.

As soon as Old Five finished speaking, his figure moved, and a black long blade weapon appeared in his hand, slashing down towards Jing Yan.

”Boom!” Jing Yan quickly defended himself.

”Bang, bang, bang!” In that instant, surging energy struck him three times in succession, sending Jing Yan flying more than ten meters.

Old Five, however, merely swayed slightly.

”What colossal strength!”

”I am already at the Second Realm of Holy, and in terms of strength, I still pale in comparison to Old Five. My vitality is not like that of typical Saint Realm Second Stage martial artists; it should be equivalent to the Saint Realm Third Stage. This Old Five’s strength is absolutely stronger than most martial artists in the Saint Realm Third Stage!” Jing Yan was alarmed.

”Good strength, come again!” Old Five’s attack had no pause.

Three slashes forced Jing Yan back, and the subsequent attacks quickly followed.

When pure strength reached a certain level, it could be extremely terrifying. If Jing Yan had not stepped into the Saint Realm, he might have been directly killed by one slash, without even a chance to admit defeat.

”Holy Light Sword Technique!” Knowing that he couldn’t match Old Five with sheer strength, Jing Yan immediately resorted to the Holy Light Sword Technique martial arts.

Sword Light permeated, layers of Power of Laws entwining.

As Old Five’s blade shadow made contact with the Power of Laws, it visibly slowed and lost some of its speed and strength, but the black long blade continued forward, eventually clashing with the black Sword Light.

After a loud crash, both Jing Yan and Old Five involuntarily took a few steps back.

”Jing Yan is so strong!” Old Seven watched, excited.

”Indeed not bad, he’s actually holding his own against Brother Five, and they seem evenly matched. It looks promising. If he can last a tea’s time under the joint hands of Brother Four and Five, he will have passed this test!” Old Six unusually added more words.

”Jing Yan, keep it up! You must hold on!” Old Seven shouted to cheer Jing Yan on.

”Both of you shut up!” Old Four, who had been standing still till now, reprimanded Old Six and Old Seven.

Old Six and Old Seven immediately shut their mouths; Brother Four’s temper was not to be tested. If they angered Brother Four, he might strike to teach them both a lesson. Though their bodies were incredibly tough and could withstand the beating, the experience was still unpleasant.

”Brother Four, I might not be able to handle him on my own,” Old Five took a few steps back and slightly paused before speaking to Old Four.

”Hmm, this Jing Yan kid is indeed good, I’ll join in as well!” Old Four nodded.

As he spoke, his figure suddenly blurred. Following that, a black blade shadow appeared beside Jing Yan.

”Such incredible speed!” Jing Yan was shocked.

From the blade shadow, it seemed Old Four’s strength was somewhat less than Old Five’s. However, his speed was more than twice that of Old Five’s.

As Old Four struck, Old Five didn’t remain idle either and also attacked Jing Yan.

”Boom!” Jing Yan quickly swung his sword to defend.

”Whoosh!”

Suddenly, Jing Yan’s body was sent flying, hitting a wall in the Great Hall before finally stopping.
