The Sword God of the Universe

Chapter 763: 763 Chapter: Saving You

This elder of the Dao King Realm, named Gu Yingfang, was a person of elder level in the Gu Family, and within the family, he held a highly respected position, capable of getting whatever he wanted.

However, for the past thirty years, he had been personally ordered by the Ancient Family Ancestor, Gu Wanquan, to guard this damned prison.

In the prison, there was only one prisoner. Over these thirty years, no second prisoner had ever been sent here. This meant that he, a venerable Gu Family elder, now had no other job but to guard a nearly dead prisoner.

He was, of course, furious!

Gu Yingfang had thought more than once about killing this prisoner. He figured that if the prisoner were dead, he could leave, but ultimately, he never had the courage. Because, the Ancestor Gu Wanquan had sternly instructed that the prisoner must remain alive.

And as long as this man was alive, Gu Yingfang had to stay here to guard him and even had to bring him food every day.

The food bowl contained a sticky, black mess, unidentifiable as food.

”Damned thing, eat up fast!” Gu Yingfang scolded.

He didn’t know that this prisoner was Jing Lunnan.

He also didn’t know that the famous Jing Yan across the Heavenly Origin Continent was Jing Lunnan’s son.

The Ancient Family Ancestor had never disclosed any information regarding Jing Lunnan’s identity to Gu Yingfang.

Jing Lunnan, sitting cross-legged, moved his eyes and looked towards Gu Yingfang not far away, his gaze filled with contempt.

Then, his body moved—he raised his arm and picked up the food bowl. Along with it, the sound of chains clinking traveled through the air.

A chain as thick as an arm pierced through Jing Lunnan’s pipa bone.

Facing this unidentifiable food, Jing Lunnan was in fact planning to eat it. Over the years, he had been eating such food that even pigs and dogs would refuse.

Because he needed to stay alive, he needed to survive.

More than a decade ago, Gu Wanquan had personally come here to tell him about the death of his son, Jing Yan.

That time, Jing Lunnan almost lost his will to live; he felt crushed, feeling that continuing to struggle for life seemed meaningless.

But at the last moment, Jing Lunnan changed his mind—he needed to keep living, for living meant hope. He firmly believed that he could eventually leave the prison. As long as he didn’t die, he would try everything to avenge his son.

Now, the drive that kept him alive was his hatred towards the Gu Family.

And just at that moment, a figure quietly walked into the prison entrance.

The person who walked in was none other than Jing Yan, dressed in a blue robe.

Outside the residence, under the cover of his Divine Soul, within moments of breathing, Jing Yan had discovered this strange prison and had also seen his father, Jing Lunnan.

Jing Yan hardly remembered his father, and had long forgotten what he looked like. However, when his Divine Soul touched Jing Lunnan, Jing Yan instantly understood that this was his biological father. The sensation of blood connection was so clear and deep-reaching.

A rage spread within Jing Yan’s heart. He had prepared himself before coming, knowing his father’s situation might be bad, but seeing the scene inside the prison with his own eyes still made him uncontrollably angry.

The fury inside him was almost bursting out uncontrollably.

He had snuck into the residence, approaching the prison, and along the way, every Gu Family person he encountered was silently killed by Jing Yan. Be they Dao Spirit Realm, Daoist Master Realm, or Dao King Realm martial artists, the outcome was the same! None could withstand the crushing might of Jing Yan’s Divine Thoughts infused with Sword Intent.

Jing Yan came in front of the prison.

”You... who are you?” Gu Yingfang snapped to his senses, his eyes looking towards Jing Yan in shock and anger.

It was only when Jing Yan appeared before him that he noticed. Before that, he hadn’t sensed anything; he didn’t even know when Jing Yan had come in from outside.

And this person was a stranger to him, obviously not a member of the Gu Family residing within.

Thoughts flew through Gu Yingfang’s mind, startling him.

Meanwhile, Jing Lunnan also lifted his sights, surprised as he looked towards Jing Yan.

Jing Yan’s appearance had changed from when he was two or three years old; Jing Lunnan couldn’t recognize him. Moreover, Jing Lunnan had thought Jing Yan was dead over a decade ago and certainly couldn’t imagine that the person standing before him now was Jing Yan.

Had it not been for this Gu Family person’s exclamation, Jing Lunnan would have thought this young man belonged to the Gu Family as well.

However, although Jing Lunnan didn’t recognize Jing Yan, he felt a sense of familiarity, as if he had seen him somewhere before but couldn’t recall where.

”Gu Family elder? Dao King Realm Peak martial artist?” Jing Yan’s voice was ice-cold as he looked at Gu Yingfang.

”You know that’s good! Boy, who exactly are you, and how did you get in here?” Gu Yingfang shook off his initial shock, becoming aggressive.

If he knew that Jing Yan had fought his way here from outside, he perhaps wouldn’t have been so composed. He thought to himself that Jing Yan must be someone from inside the house who had been brought in from outside.

He couldn’t even imagine that Jing Yan had come in directly confronting them head-on.

This was East Gate County, the base of the Gu Family. Who would dare to cause trouble on the Gu Family’s turf?

Such incidents hadn’t occurred in hundreds to thousands of years.

”Boy, you better come clean and tell me. Tell me who brought you into this residence! As long as you tell me, I can spare your life.” A menacing light flashed in Gu Yingfang’s eyes.

Anyone who dared to bring outsiders into this residence, he would definitely not let them go. Once discovered, harsh punishment would follow. And this young man must also die!

”No one brought me here,” Jing Yan said indifferently.

”I came by myself, and, my name is Jing Yan,” Jing Yan revealed his name.

”You came by yourself? Haha, you’ve got quite a tough mouth, kid! But... wait, what did you say your name was?” Gu Yingfang was speaking when he suddenly registered the name Jing Yan had said.

Jing Yan?

That name was now known by everyone on the Heavenly Origin Continent.

Moreover, Jing Yan was a sworn enemy of the Gu Family! Even the Ancestor Gu Wanquan was unable to handle Jing Yan.

Gu Yingfang, stunned and confused, looked at Jing Yan.

This Jing Yan, could he really be the Jing Yan from the rumors?

Gu Yingfang had never seen Jing Yan before; he had just heard about him many times. And comparing the young man before him to Jing Yan’s rumored image, his heart couldn’t help but tremble once more. Because, the person in front of him looked exactly like the Jing Yan from the rumors.

”Jing... Jing Yan?”

”Clatter!” a slight sound, and the pitch-black food bowl fell from Jing Lunnan’s hands.

His heavy breathing sounded as he stared at Jing Yan.

”Father, it’s me! I’ve come to rescue you,” Jing Yan said calmly, his voice laden with endless emotions.
