The Sword God of the Universe

Chapter 157: Chapter 157: Courting Death Chapter 157: Chapter 157: Courting Death Other people coveting the Liu Family’s assets was one thing, but Sun Biao truly chilled Liu Daquan’s heart.

The reason Sun Biao could establish himself in Black Wind Town was because of Liu Daquan’s initial help.

Liu Daquan liked to make friends and was a very kind-hearted person, or else he would not have met the members of the Fiery Flame Adventure Team including Gao Zhan.

One could say that Liu Daquan had been kind to Sun Biao.

Some time ago, when Liu Daquan had offended the Sky Wolf Gang, he had also sought help from Sun Biao, but Sun Biao had refused to help him.

Since then, the interactions between Liu Daquan and Sun Biao had diminished.

And now, Sun Biao was even leading the charge to plunder the Liu Family’s properties.

“Unfaithful and ungrateful,” that’s what Sun Biao was.

Hearing the guard’s words filled with anger, Liu Daquan sighed in his heart.

This world never lacked ingrates.

Although he wished to kill Sun Biao, with the current situation of the Liu Family, he was helpless.

“Hm?”

At that moment, suddenly, a clamor came from outside the mansion.

The Liu Family Mansion was not very large, so any disturbance on the street could be heard inside.

“Is Family Head Liu at home?”

A woman’s voice followed immediately.

Then, Liu Daquan saw several Liu Family Guards quickly walking in with a woman in a black long dress.

Liu Daquan, of course, recognized her.

Every resident martial artist in Black Wind Town knew her.

She was Black Widow.

“Why has Black Widow come to see me?” Liu Daquan thought but quickly stepped forward to greet her.

Black Widow was also a High Level Martial Artist with the strength of Martial Arts Eighth Layer Heaven and had stayed in Black Wind Town for over a decade, gaining considerable influence and familiarity with many martial artists.

Thus, although Liu Daquan did not actively befriend her, he was always courteous and gave her respect.

“Sister Mu Nian?” Liu Daquan squeezed a smile on his face and saluted her from a distance.

Black Widow’s real name was Mu Nian.

Liu Daquan, possibly a bit older than Black Widow, still courteously called her Sister Mu Nian.

In Black Wind Town, most martial artists only knew her nickname, Black Widow, and not her real name.

Liu Daquan knew her real name.

“Family Head Liu, there’s no time left, you must prepare quickly.

Sun Biao and Liu Huang have already brought people over,” Black Widow said urgently, waving her hand to indicate that Liu Daquan shouldn’t bother with formalities.

“What?” Liu Daquan, hearing this, was momentarily stunned.

“Hurry and gather the guards; Sun Biao and his men will be here any moment,” Mu Nian said anxiously again.

Liu Daquan’s body slightly trembled, and his expression suddenly changed.

Of course, he knew what Black Widow’s words meant.

Sun Biao bringing people over definitely wasn’t a good thing.

“Liu Family Guards, assemble immediately!” Liu Daquan immediately called out.

“Sister Mu Nian, thank you!” Liu Daquan then thanked Black Widow.

Liu Daquan felt gratitude towards the Black Widow; in fact, he had little acquaintance with the Black Widow, yet she came to deliver the warning in advance.

This favor was indeed owed, but he didn’t know if he would ever have the chance to repay it.

The number of guards inside the Liu Family Mansion wasn’t many; before taking over the assets of the Sky Wolf Gang, there had been around thirty guards within the mansion.

Now, only over ten remained.

These guards, however, were loyal, perhaps because Liu Daquan usually treated them well, so they were quite faithful.

During the perilous times of the Liu family, they all chose to stay.

More than ten guards quickly gathered together.

“Hahaha…”

At this moment, a harsh laughter sounded from outside.

“Bang!”

Following that, two guards outside the gates of the Liu Family Mansion were sent flying into the courtyard.

A burly figure hurriedly stepped inside.

Following him, three Martial Artists clad in brocade gowns entered in succession, bringing the count to four including Liu Daquan.

Behind these four, a large number of guards poured into the Liu Family Mansion like a tide, almost a hundred in number.

“Surround them!” Sun Biao waved his hand grandly.

“Surround everyone, no one is allowed in or out.”

“Yes, before we finish talking, no one can leave!

Hehe!”

The other three Martial Artists wearing differently colored brocade gowns also stared at Liu Daquan and spoke.

These three were also prominent figures in Black Wind Town, heads of some family forces.

“Sun Biao, what is the meaning of this?” Liu Daquan’s face darkened as he watched Sun Biao and the others approaching and asked in a deep voice.

“Liu Daquan, let’s speak frankly.

I and the other three Family Heads have come here to give you one last chance, surrender all of the Liu Family’s assets.” Sun Biao’s eyes narrowed, and he scanned Liu Daquan with a sinister gaze, laughing cruelly.

“Liu Daquan, you better be smart and not force our hands.

The Sun Family Master said, all Liu Family assets, even including this mansion,” said Liu Huang, the Martial Artist in a blue brocade gown, squinting his eyes.

“Family Head Liu, you truly are foolish.

You killed the Town Mayor, thinking you could still stand in Black Wind Town?

If I were you, I would have left Black Wind Town long ago.

Stupid, staying in Black Wind Town is just waiting for death,” another mocked.

Today, they came to divide the entire Liu Family’s assets.

Before they arrived, the four had already discussed what parts of the Liu Family’s assets each would take.

Liu Daquan took a deep breath, his eyes sweeping across the four people opposite, Sun Biao and the others.

“I am willing to let go of my Liu Family’s assets; however, most of these assets belong to Young Master Jing Yan.

Do you really want to seize Young Master Jing Yan’s assets?” Liu Daquan suppressed the sadness in his heart and spoke gravely.

“What nonsense about Young Master Jing Yan, Liu Daquan, stop playing your clever games.

Your Young Master Jing Yan killed people from the Wei Family, killed the Town Mayor Gao Yan, and he’s probably already dead.

Liu Daquan, you still want to use a dead man to scare us?” Sun Biao opened his eyes wide and jeered coldly.

The reason Sun Biao and others had not moved against the Liu Family until now was also because of some concerns.

They were also worried about Jing Yan returning.

They had witnessed Jing Yan’s strength.

However, more than a month had passed without a sight of Jing Yan.

What else could it mean if not death?

Previously, they had also raided the Liu Family’s resources several times, aiming to test whether Liu Daquan really had connections to the major families of Donglin City.

Now, it seemed Liu Daquan didn’t dare to utter a single word; his backing was, at most, Jing Yan himself.

With Jing Yan not returning for so long, he was undoubtedly as good as dead.

What else did they have to worry about?

“Sun Biao, aren’t you being a bit too excessive?” Black Widow Mu Nian also spoke up gravely at this time.

“Black Widow, shut up, you don’t have a say here.

Humph, if you want to accompany Liu Daquan in death, I can make that happen too,” Sun Biao yelled at the Black Widow.
