The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 463: Chapter 463: In What Way Am I Inferior to Her?

”What nonsense are you spouting?! Try saying that again if you dare!” Han Qingjue was so furious she was practically incoherent. What was that?! Stepfather? Was he mocking her for not having a father? Ha, even if she didn’t have a father, it was better than him not having a mother or a father!

Su Yu calmly didn’t even take another look at them, turned around, and was ready to leave.

Han Qingjue panicked and quickly took a couple of steps forward intending to stop him. Su Yu stopped and looked at Han Qingjue with a calm gaze.

Han Qingjue was slightly stunned. She had known Su Yu for so long, and this was the first time he had seriously looked at her.

”What do I owe you? What fairness do you want? What do I have to do with you, why should I give you what you want?” Su Yu’s voice was still cool and pleasant, and he wasn’t even angry; instead, he asked quite calmly.

In the past, he definitely would not have had the time to tangle with her, let alone the patience to explain anything to her.

But suddenly he remembered what Han Jing said before made some sense. A man getting married should act like a husband, not give those outside flowers and grasses any chances, to prevent unnecessary misunderstandings, lest they all come to cause harm to her.

The previous incident with He Yanxin had indeed served as a wake-up call for him.

He used to think that there was no need to explain; whether they understood or not, it was their business. He didn’t like those women, just didn’t like them, and there was no need to explain anything to them.

When he was brought back to the Spirit Flame Sect by his master, his only interest was martial arts and cultivation, to make himself stronger. As for those personal relationships and ways of interaction, he had never learned them nor bothered to, and he had never thought anyone was worth him entertaining.

So he was used to doing whatever he wanted, being happy when he wanted to, getting angry when he wanted to. He considered his temper rather good; at least he never wantonly killed the innocent indiscriminately. Wasn’t that enough? What more was required of him?

Take Han Qingjue for example, he had already been lenient repeatedly, and if it weren’t for the fact that Han Litong had repeatedly helped treat his injuries, he would have mercilessly broken her leg the first time she tried to break into his courtyard.

He had clearly indicated that no one, especially women, was allowed to approach his residence, but apparently everyone treated his words as mere air, so was that his fault too?

Han Qingjue was stunned. She widened her eyes, staring at Su Yu, yet couldn’t utter a single word.

She even opened her mouth but couldn’t make any sound.

What relationship was there between them that required him to accommodate her? In terms of status, he was the chief disciple of the Spirit Flame Sect, much higher than her as the Miss of Beihan Palace. In terms of skill, she was no match for him... If there was any connection to be forced, it was only because her mother had helped him, but that help was at Sect Leader Yun’s invitation. Sect Leader Yun’s junior brother died saving her mother, and there was no limit to how many times her mother could return the favor.

Su Yu never explained himself, but when he did, he left Han Qingjue speechless. Her pride did not allow her to say anything unreasonable, but... but what did all these years of liking him amount to?

”If not me, then is she okay? Why would you rather choose an ordinary woman and refuse to choose me? What do I lack compared to her?”
