Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1068: Chapter 1069: No Child Should Suffer

Little Yu watched Cheng Su and Niannian talking. She didn’t know what they said, but Niannian giggled, and her pale little face had a touch of color. Little Yu couldn’t help but smile as well.

”Taiguo, you’ve married a good wife!” Little Yu looked at Qi Taiguo and said, ”She is wonderful. She will surely be a good mother in the future.”

Qi Taiguo looked over and saw Cheng Su genuinely smiling, then nodded and said, ”She is quite attentive to the children.”

Whether it’s Niannian, or Xiao Yun from the eldest sister’s family, or Dahe’s Cancan, and so on, she always shows that she loves them.

You can usually tell if someone is good by whether the children like her, because children’s eyes never lie.

Qi Taiguo felt honored and proud to have her.

”You’ve settled down, so your Brother Zheng can also be at ease!” Little Yu remarked.

Qi Taiguo’s smile slightly faded as he looked at her and said, ”These years have been hard on you!”

She worked herself so hard. Although she was roughly the same age as him, because of the toil, wrinkles had early crept onto her face, making her look as if she were in her early forties. This was due to how tough her life had been.

As a woman to uphold a household, it was very difficult!

Qi Taiguo felt a pang of heartache and thought of that towering figure again.

”It is hard, but after enduring a few more years, there will be light.” Little Yu smiled slightly and said, ”Once Xiao Bin goes to college, he’ll have prospects. Then I can hold my head high in front of Old Zheng!”

”Sister-in-law!” Qi Taiguo choked up.

”Enough, let’s not talk about it. You came with such care. As for the medical bills, I will repay you someday!” Little Yu smiled, ”Though I don’t know when that day will be.”

”That’s not urgent!” Qi Taiguo quickly responded.

”Mm, thank you. It’s dark now; the road is not easy to walk, so you both should head back!” Little Yu said.

Qi Taiguo nodded, ”We will come to visit Niannian again tomorrow!”

”No need to come over; the doctor said there were no major issues, and she will be discharged in a couple of days!”

Qi Taiguo did not respond definitively.

Calling Cheng Su, Little Yu escorted them out of the ward. Cheng Su took three Great Unity RMB bills from her bag and stuffed them into Little Yu’s hand, ”Sister-in-law, take this money to buy the child some nourishing food. She is too thin!”

”How can this be, you’ve already helped to cover the medical bills!” Little Yu hurriedly declined.

”Sister-in-law, just take it!” Qi Taiguo said, ”Let no one suffer, especially not the children. They need nutrition, particularly Niannian. Her health has never been good; without nourishment, how will she grow? She seems smaller than kids her age.”

”Exactly! Sister-in-law, don’t feel pressured, just consider it a gesture for the child.” Cheng Su smiled and said, ”Tell her that in the future, when she has achieved success, we’ll be there waiting for her to bless us!”

She didn’t mention Platoon Leader Zheng, or talk about repayment, only about the child. Everyone knew the reason for the money, but by not saying it, they preserved some dignity for all.

You won’t think I’m using kindness to demand payment.

You won’t think I’m using money in return for the fact that your husband accomplished so much for us with his life.

Little Yu clutched the money, turned away, and wiped the corner of her eye, saying, ”I owe you both too much!”

”Sister-in-law, don’t say things like that. If not for...” Qi Taiguo gritted his teeth and said, ”I treat Xiao Bin and Niannian like my own children. If you face any difficulties, don’t shy away from coming to us. We will always lend a hand when we can!”

”Yes!” Cheng Su echoed.

Little Yu nodded and smiled as she saw them off.
