Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1048: Chapter 1049: Public Security Is Getting Worse

Qi Taiguo didn’t come back all night, Cheng Su got up and touched the bed next to her, it was still cold, what kind of mission is this?

After washing up and going to make breakfast, she saw Hualing with a belly holding a newspaper and reading, Cheng Su said: ”Be careful reading while walking!”

Hualing glanced at her, pointed at the newspaper and handed it over, saying: ”Look at this, criminals appeared in the neighboring county last night, sigh, the security is getting worse, it’s really scary.”

Cheng Su took it and looked, the big headline said separatists took hostages, she saw soldiers from the military district, could Qi Taiguo have gone out for this mission last night?

Looking further inside, it said three people died, her heart couldn’t help but tighten.

”Society has developed, but people’s hearts have not,” Cheng Su sighed.

As society continues to develop, such things will only become more frequent, and incidents of petty criminals and crimes will increase.

”What are you talking about?” Guiying came over holding Cancan.

Cheng Su saw the chubby Cancan and broke into a smile, she stretched out her finger to poke his chubby cheek, and made a sound by clicking her tongue to tease him, making the little guy giggle.

Hualing was also fond of him, reaching out to hold him, this child was born with her help, so naturally, she was fond.

But as soon as she reached out, Cheng Su and Guiying both stopped her.

”What are you doing?” Hualing glared, not even allowed to hold the child!

”You’re pregnant yourself, don’t hold him, they say kids will be stingy because of that!” Cheng Su nudged her belly.

”Yes, that’s what they say back home, pregnant women don’t hold other kids.” Guiying also laughed.

Hualing rolled her eyes and clicked her tongue: ”You’re so superstitious!” But she didn’t insist, after all, she’s also nervous about the baby in her belly.

”It’s for your own good!” Cheng Su huffed at her.

Guiying smiled, then asked what they were talking about earlier, Cheng Su pointed to the newspaper headline.

”Oh dear, was our Dahe out on this mission last night?” Guiying said immediately.

”Probably, Old Qi went too!”

Upon hearing this, Hualing’s eyes darkened slightly, since that incident, Chen Shouwang seldom went on missions, and now he almost has no presence in the military.

Cheng Su was the best at reading people, seeing her expression she knew what she was thinking, she said: ”Security isn’t as good now, you all need to be careful when going out! Especially you, Hualing, being pregnant, be very cautious.”

”Jinx!” Hualing gave her a glare.

”We have to be. Heard that Auntie from Zhong family’s Southeast Ladder 201 got her gold earrings snatched a few days ago, even bleeding her ear.” Guiying said fearfully.

Cheng Su and Hualing both furrowed their brows.

”How about, for now, let Chen Shouwang pick you up after work!” Cheng Su turned to Hualing, ”Besides, don’t wear any jewelry for now!”

”You know how the military is, how could he come back to pick me up. Forget it, just have to be careful yourself!” Hualing curled her lips, then glanced at her, ”It’s actually you who should be careful, dressing up so flashy all the time!”

Cheng Su twitched the corner of her mouth, this person never admits defeat.

”I’m making breakfast, have to rush to school!” Cheng Su surrendered herself, shoved the newspaper back into Hualing’s hands, and took the pot to the kitchen.

And when she returned to the classroom at school, she heard bad news, a girl in the class was murdered and everyone was in a state of fear, talking about the current security.

Cheng Su offered a minute of silent mourning in her heart, thinking this is just the beginning!
