Summoners: One Golden Term per Level

Gonggong originally thought that those cannons could only be placed on ships, using the ships as carriers.

And since the war started between the Lie Mountain Tribe and the Jiuli, the gunpowder weapons have been the most feared.

After all, these things have completely rewritten the style of Low Tier warfare.

When these two things were introduced, the cannons were presented as a part of the ships.

After all, though Gonggong had never handled the cannon personally, he had seen them, and their size was such that even the Golden Core tribe members found it difficult to manage on their own.

The cannon’s power was at most equivalent to a Golden Core Immortal Technique, which is to say you needed a Golden Core tribe member to carry a cannon with power comparable to a Golden Core Immortal Technique.

Which was of no practical use at all.

Thus, they instinctively believed that cannons could only be placed on ships.

And when those Jiuli soldiers landed ashore, they would switch to another weapon, but no more powerful than Foundation Establishment.

This led Gonggong to think about what to do if they clashed once more with the Jiuli.

How to deal with the cannons on the ships and the fast-firing guns after they land ashore.

They had always forgotten, before their gunpowder weapons emerged, the Jiuli Tribe could sweep across the East, which was not just due to having stronger weapons than others.

But also because of the Jiuli Tribe’s Exotic Beast army, although these Exotic Beasts were not very strong in themselves.

But whether it was the speed of their charge, their defense, or their capacity to bear heavy loads.

Made it challenging for other tribes to deal with the Jiuli Tribe’s Exotic Beast Cavalry in any way.

Which is why the Jiuli Tribe was able to annex them so quickly.

But once the gunpowder weapons became known to them, the Jiuli Tribe’s Exotic Beast Cavalry was forgotten by Gonggong and the others.

After all, compared to the shock brought by the gunpowder weapons, the Exotic Beast Cavalry seemed outdated.

Yet Gonggong did not expect that the Jiu Li Great Priest would actually combine the Exotic Beasts and the cannons.

Gonggong recognized these Exotic Beasts carrying the cannons, known as ’elephants.’

They were inherently dull, but their massive bodies could bear much weight.

In the past.

Even the Jiuli Tribe’s cavalry was almost never used to attack with these Exotic Beasts.

Because these creatures were extremely afraid of noise, once startled, they would flee in all directions.

”Seal their five senses with Witchcraft, letting them only move forward, with someone else controlling the cannons?”

Gonggong quickly realized how the Jiuli achieved this.

Even as Gonggong’s astonishment hadn’t subsided, the cannon fire below had already begun to thunder amidst the torrential rain.

”Ah!”

”So painful!”

”Boom, boom, boom——!”

A series of screams accompanied the cannon fire resounding, and the troops previously stationed by Gonggong began to suffer heavy losses.

And those charging forward were even more so, being directly blown to pieces, even the Immortal Techniques used by cultivators could not withstand it.

Originally, Gonggong had defended against cannon fire from ships, so he kept his forces a distance from the riverbank.

He had witnessed Jiuli’s cannons so many times before, and although each time resulted in significant losses, his strength had allowed him to understand the cannon’s general power and range.

His troop arrangement had naturally been well-prepared.

It was only after the Jiuli troops landed and moved beyond the range of the ship’s cannon fire that he ordered his forces to attack.

Who knew that the Jiuli would act without honor, bringing ashore what he assumed could only be used on ships.

In an instant.

Heavy losses were incurred.

Gonggong’s forces were forcibly halted by the assault, and began retreating step by step.

Meanwhile, the Jiuli troops continued their assault, leaving the Lie Mountain Tribe with no way to organize an effective counterattack.

Gonggong took a deep breath and shouted, ”All cultivators, step forward and fight!”

Since they couldn’t win at the lower levels, they could only seek victory at the middle or even higher levels.

In an instant.

With Gonggong’s words, beams of Spiritual Light rushed from the back of the battlefield, the glow of their Immortal Techniques illuminating the dim sky.

Shen Fei naturally would not remain indifferent, and with his command, many Centurions and Chiliarchs stepped forward.

The next moment.

Savage battle cries rose once more, and given their proximity to the Lie Mountain Tribe, their support speed was still relatively fast.

For a time, the battle in the heavens became a stalemate, and the cultivators on the Lie Mountain Tribe’s side could occasionally spare their hands to support the war below.

Slowing down the Jiuli Tribe’s advance.

Shen Fei raised an eyebrow and said, ”Not bad, it seems your foundation is deep indeed, I didn’t expect the internal strife within the Lie Mountain Tribe to be so serious.

And yet so many cultivators are assisting you.”

Gonggong snorted coldly and said, ”How could our Lie Mountain’s strength be imagined by the likes of you barbarians?”

But Gonggong was still disappointed, as the Middle Tier cultivators and tribe members he considered capable of surpassing the Jiuli Tribe.

Though the Jiuli Barbarians mastered that Witchcraft, rapidly creating a batch of powerful individuals and Low Tier witches.

In the middle levels, with the speed of Jiuli Tribe’s annexation, there would surely be difficulty in having a large number of middle-level witches.

But now he realized.

Jiuli’s foundation was much more terrifying than he had imagined.

They didn’t even hold an advantage with the Middle Tier Extraordinary Power?

And this wasn’t even in the frontline, or say in the Mufu Mountain Range.

Where supply lines were hard to reach, and support was slow.

Now the Han River was just over a hundred thousand miles from the inland borders of the Lie Mountain Tribe.

With the speed of the Jiuli Army, they could quickly reach it once they crossed the Han River, but that also meant rapid support for people like Gonggong was possible.

That’s why Zhurong’s support was so swift then.

With timely support, Jiuli’s front lines extended so far.

Yet they still managed to resist?

”Do you think our support is lacking? Haven’t you seen our shipbuilding?”

”Did you really think all the ships I built were only used for battle?”

Shen Fei said with a smile, during this time when the aerial battle had yet to unfold, inland naval warfare was usually a strategic point to be claimed before battles arose.

Especially in areas with numerous rivers, whoever controlled the rivers wouldn’t need to worry about support and supplies.

Gonggong’s expression changed, ”But river narrowness...”

Gonggong hadn’t finished speaking when he thought of a possibility, narrow rivers hardly accommodating numerous supply ships.

So widen the river surface, allowing many ships to enter, and Shen Fei had been doing just that.

But if this Han River could accommodate a large number of ships, does this mean.

It’s quite possible that there was already a large fleet, possibly having already crossed the Han River...

Gonggong had always had a knack for aquatic terrain, and such thoughts had just emerged in his mind.

When the distant roars erupted madly, and the noise came from behind their encampment.

Gonggong’s face turned ugly immediately, glaring at Shen Fei in the distance and shouted, ”You actually performed a two-sided pincer attack!”

Gonggong was about to lose it, they were clearly occupying a favorable defensive position this time.

Yet Shen Fei still managed a pincer attack, they couldn’t even use their favorable ground.
