Summoners: One Golden Term per Level

Lie Mountain Tribe.

The Medicine Ancestor was meticulously studying the Immortal Technique taught by Ma Shihuang, finding the pace of learning Immortal Techniques in this Great Wilderness too slow.

Surprisingly, it required gradual mastery, whereas on Blue Star, as long as the master provided him with a Skill Book, he could grasp it instantly.

However, his Calamity Poison Body indeed caught the eye of Ma Shihuang, at least qualifying as a constitution capable of becoming immortal.

Although he discovered that in this Ancient Secret Realm of the Great Wilderness, killing Exotic Beasts did not lead to equipment drops.

But some of the Immortal Techniques and poisonous herbs here were indeed real.

It was a real world, thanks to his identity as a True Disciple of Shennong.

His [Calamity Poison Body] had now been advanced to a [Tier Seven of Legend].

Mainly, his status was quite gratifying, knowing that back then, Shennong tasted all the herbs under the heaven.

The poisonous herbs almost poisoned the then Tier Ten Shennong to death.

Among them, the strongest ’Soulbreaking Aconite’, even to this day, cannot get rid of the toxins that were found when Shennong pioneered the path of the Medicine Immortal.

It additionally weakened his body, and it could be said that tasting all the herbs back then led Shennong to become the Common Lord of the Human Race.

It also forced him to promptly appoint a successor, which sowed the seeds of discord leading to the rebellion of the Jiuli Tribe today.

”Shall we guide them to the Youxiong Tribe?” Medicine Ancestor suddenly received a message from Little Pu.

The master asked him to influence Ma Shihuang and other cultivators to go to Youxiong Xuanyuan and make contact.

Medicine Ancestor carefully stored the herbs he was brewing and went to where Ma Shihuang was cultivating.

Ma Shihuang was initially cultivating, but upon seeing Medicine Ancestor approaching, he opened his eyes and asked, ”Do you have questions regarding your practice of the Immortal Technique?”

Medicine Ancestor shook his head and said, ”It’s fine for now. Actually, I wanted to ask Senior Brother for leave.”

”Where to?”

”To the Han River Front, to join the battle,” said the Medicine Ancestor.

This statement made Ma Shihuang frown and say, ”Your primary goal now is cultivation; only when you reach Tier Ten can you be most effective on the battlefield.”

”Moreover, last time you performed admirably in holding the rear; if not for you, many Medicine Immortal seedlings would have perished.

The master has already permitted you not to participate in the war with the Jiuli Tribe, yet you still wish to go?”

Medicine Ancestor shook his head and said, ”My goal is not to participate in the battle but to better preserve the vital forces of our Lie Mountain Tribe.”

”Lest when our Lie Mountain Tribe comes face to face with the Youxiong Tribe, too much of our vital force is wasted on the Jiuli Tribe...”

At first, Ma Shihuang was angry that Medicine Ancestor wanted to go to the front, but upon hearing his analysis, he asked in bewilderment, ”How could Youxiong ever come into conflict with us Lie Mountain?”

”Xuanyuan is already the successor of the Common Lord; once the current Common Lord..., he will truly be the Common Lord.”

Medicine Ancestor sat beside Ma Shihuang to show his closeness and softly said, ”The Jiuli Tribe is actually not to be feared.”

Because the shamans of the Jiuli Tribe are inherently difficult for both the Lie Mountain Tribe and Youxiong Tribe to accept.

Coupled with both tribes attacking together, the Jiuli Tribe is on the brink of collapse.”

”But has Senior Brother ever considered that after the Jiuli Tribe collapses, only we and Youxiong will remain.

Then, once Xuanyuan becomes the Common Lord, how should we position ourselves?”

Ma Shihuang was somewhat puzzled; the words of the Medicine Ancestor revolved in his mind perhaps giving him some insight.

Then he stopped circulating his mana and began to carefully observe the Medicine Ancestor, saying, ”Please clarify, junior brother.”

He vaguely felt that Medicine Ancestor seemed to have a farther view, even though the Lie Mountain Tribe, whether from the tribe side or the cultivator forces,

had never viewed the Youxiong Tribe as a threat, rather seeing them as quite a good ally.

Even though within the Lie Mountain Tribe, some people felt that the next Common Lord should still be from Lie Mountain.

They had never viewed the Youxiong Tribe as an enemy.

Now, Medicine Ancestor’s view was quite novel.

Seeing Ma Shihuang begin listening seriously, Medicine Ancestor smiled in his heart, reasoning that this was extremely likely to happen.

These cultivators had no sense of belonging to the Lie Mountain Tribe, forming their own forces.

Many cultivators stayed in, or pledged allegiance to, the Lie Mountain Tribe because it was the tribe of the previous Common Lord, Shennong.

And Ma Shihuang and Chi Songzi’s positions as leaders of the cultivator forces were partly due to their connections with Shennong.

But neither Ma Shihuang nor Chi Songzi necessarily meant to share life and death with the Lie Mountain Tribe.

”I heard that on Xuanyuan’s side, like the Profound Lady Race itself, it’s a group formed by gathered cultivators, intertwined with the Dao Lineage and bloodline.

Also, there are rumors that Xuanyuan attained the Dao from Guang Chengzi, surely having some Dao Lineage behind him.”

”Youxiong Xuanyuan even has connections with members of the Dragon Race among the Exotic Beasts...”

”When Youxiong Xuanyuan truly becomes the Common Lord, does Senior Brother think that when we, the old ministers of Lie Mountain, go over...”

Medicine Ancestor paused and continued, ”We may only be considered as performing jobs for others.”

Ma Shihuang slightly frowned, indeed Medicine Ancestor’s words were true, the crux of the matter was that now the Jiuli Tribe loomed large.

The key issue was whether Xuanyuan would become the Common Lord.

”How do you think the Jiuli...”

Ma Shihuang was about to ask, but suddenly realized it, the Jiuli cannot win no matter what.

This is also the contradiction between cultivators and shamans, if Lie Mountain and Youxiong win,

it would just circulate between Lie Mountain and Youxiong.

But if the Jiuli Tribe wins,

the shamans will remain above the cultivators forever.

And what Medicine Ancestor proposed dealt with the Lie Mountain and Xuanyuan’s victory, focusing on the future living environment for the cultivators of the Lie Mountain Tribe.

In Lie Mountain, accustomed to being the leader, how would Ma Shihuang feel taking orders in Xuanyuan Tribe?

At that moment, Ma Shihuang realized that regardless of whether Xuanyuan or Jiuli’s tribe won,

it would not be favorable for their cultivator forces at all.

Unless a Common Lord once again emerged in the Lie Mountain Tribe, but Shennong had long named the successor of the Common Lord...

Ma Shihuang then looked up at Medicine Ancestor and asked, ”Is it possible that Junior Brother plans to contact Youxiong in advance?”

The only way for them to benefit was to pledge allegiance to Xuanyuan before he fully became the Common Lord,

even making significant efforts on Xuanyuan’s way to becoming the Common Lord.

”Junior Brother merely voiced such concerns, the final choice still lies with Senior Brother.”

”Does Junior Brother have a pathway?”

Medicine Ancestor shook his head and said, ”Junior Brother has never been to where Youxiong Tribe is located, how could there be a pathway.”

In fact, there was, like Chi You’s Ghost Swordsman Legion, possibly having some within Youxiong, and the matron.

But none have been contacted yet, but as long as there’s an approach, they can be contacted.

However, Medicine Ancestor could not say that now; it had to be saved for a critical moment, now was not the time.

”Then Junior Brother will take leave ahead to Han River.”

After finishing his words, Medicine Ancestor stood up and was about to go when Ma Shihuang stopped him.

”Do not go, the battle of Han River may very likely end in a great defeat, go after some time.” Ma Shihuang suddenly said, Medicine Ancestor was surprised, but didn’t say more, and nodded, ”Then I shall focus intently on practicing Immortal Techniques in the tribe.”

”However, lately, I need some herbs for my practice, I must go out to gather them.”

”Hmm, don’t go too far. Recently, the situation is tense, and staying far from the tribe will be seen as communicating secrets.”

”Not far.”
