Summoners: One Golden Term per Level

Chapter 12: Chapter 12: Jiang Ying: He’s Dead for Offending the Jiang Family!

”You, this time I’m afraid you’ve truly offended the Jiang family.”

Before long, someone from the Jiang family brought over three rare Summoner Skill Books; Jiang Ying and Jiang Lin’s expressions weren’t pleasant. They didn’t even speak to Fang Yuan and left directly.

Fang Yuan spoke with some concern.

”In Shencheng City, my words still carry some weight. Not to mention, you’ve already caught the Federation’s attention. These guys surely won’t dare lay a hand on you within the city.

But in the wilderness...”

”In the wilderness, who knows who would kill whom? Principal, rest assured. As for offending them, from the way those two brothers from the Jiang family speak, do you think giving them face means they’ll let me go?”

Fang Yuan could only nod; the Jiang family’s reputation is well-known, all bad.

”Alright, I’ve already informed the Breaking Abyss Army. You can go directly there, and here is what you wanted.” Fang Yuan pointed to the table, and a box appeared.

”Principal, you’re so generous!” Shen Fei said with a grin and opened the box. Inside was a Skill Book, along with a fiery staff, a hat, and a ring.

”Eh, you truly act according to profit, never mind. The Summoning Skill Book inside is called ’Yin Ghost’s Thorn,’ which is the Assassin-type Summoned Beast you wanted.

This thing isn’t simple, make good use of it!”

Fang Yuan helplessly continued, ”These three pieces of equipment form a set. Originally there were six, but now only three remain. See if you have the fate to collect the remaining three.

Even just these three are enough for your initial Mage Summoned Beast to use.”

”A set?”

Shen Fei was surprised to hear Fang Yuan’s words and hurriedly took out the Magic Staff.

[Fire Spirit Staff (Rare) (1/6): Hand Equipment; Limited to Summoned Beast use; Increases Fire Magic power by 30%, reduces Fire Magic consumption by 10%, can store a Fire Magic Skill for zero-cost release.

Equipment Requirement: Mage Type Profession, Level 1 and above]

Sure enough, it was a six-piece set, but just seeing the first piece felt quite powerful. No wonder in Hell Pig Forest, Jiang Lin could hang on for so long.

It seems equipment is indeed a significant part of combat strength.

”Thank you, Principal!”

This time, Shen Fei was genuinely grateful. Though Fang Yuan had agreed to give Shen Fei three Summoned Beast pieces of equipment, he could have given them casually. But he specially found a set.

Which means it was thoughtfully considered, especially for Fire Element use.

They definitely assumed Shen Fei’s second Summoned Beast was the Flame Spirit, hence selecting this set for him.

”As long as you achieve good results in the joint exchange, this gift will be worth it for me.”

Fang Yuan laughed heartily.

”Alright, I won’t let the principal down!”

”Hmm, off you go then. The future is ultimately yours!”

...

Shen Fei returned home and summoned the Five Elements Empress, handing her the set, ”Little Ji, want to try these?”

”No need to try, I can already feel the effect.”

The Five Elements Empress took the three pieces of equipment, and the next moment, she was wearing a hat on her head. In her hand was a staff, and on her alabaster fingertip, a ring with an embedded ruby appeared.

”Not bad. Although the boost isn’t much, it’s at least somewhat useful.”

The Five Elements Empress nodded but noticed Shen Fei staring at her in a daze.

She couldn’t help but laugh, ”Do I look good?”

Hearing her words, Shen Fei snapped back, his face a little embarrassed, ”You look good.”

”As long as it looks good.”

The Five Elements Empress covered her mouth with a light laugh, her master was indeed adorable.

Wearing the equipment, the Five Elements Empress looked even more majestic, with allure and authority combined, leaving Shen Fei momentarily spellbound.

He scratched his head, hesitated for a moment but decided to first put ’Yin Ghost’s Thorn’ into the backpack.

The extra entry [Medicine God Incarnation] was clearly for support now. Summoning it now couldn’t keep up with the pace of Vast Heaven Holy Spirit and the Five Elements Empress.

He was thinking if he could get a support-type Summoning Skill Book.

Maybe first summon support types.

Or just wait to level up and draw a suitable Assassin-type entry, then summon it.

”Three Summoner Skill Books...”

Shen Fei took out the three Skill Books given by Jiang Ying and could only say the Jiang family was truly an ATM.

Now they’ve just gifted a Lord Skill and three rare skills, where could you find such generous benefactors!

”Heh heh, if you make trouble, don’t let me catch your weak spots, or I’ll keep robbing the rich to help the poor!” Shen Fei thought about the looks in Jiang Ying and Jiang Lin’s eyes before they left. From Jiang Lin’s personality alone, Shen Fei could tell what these Jiang family people were like.

”Let’s look at these three Skill Books first...”

Shen Fei was somewhat expectant.

[Skill Book: Spirit Blood Shield]

[Quality: Rare]

[Effect: Consumes 10% of any contracted Summoned Beast’s Constitution State to form a defensive shield for the Summoner. The shield’s defense effect equals the consumed constitution state * skill level]

[Skill Book: Magic Power Link]

[Quality: Rare]

[Effect: Once activated, links the magic power of the contracted Summoned Beast and Summoner. Either side can use the other’s magic; magic can’t be recovered when linked, and re-linking requires a 1-hour cooldown period]

[Skill Book: Bloodthirsty Giant]

[Quality: Rare]

[Effect: Once activated, selects any contracted Giant Summoned Beast for bloodthirsty enhancement. Enhanced Giant Summoned Beast has a high probability of falling into a state of chaos, with close combat attack power increased by 50%]

”No wonder they gave it so readily. Turns out they are useless or flawed for a standard summoner.”

Shen Fei raised an eyebrow; these three skills, if given to a typical Summoner, starting with the first one, their first Summoned Beast’s constitution would definitely not be strong. Not to mention, this weakens the Summoned Beast to exchange for the Summoner’s defense.

Summoners’ main battle strength is their Summoned Beasts.

But Shen Fei’s Summoned Beast is the Vast Heaven Holy Spirit, and 10% of its constitution...

Shen Fei felt that even a level 10 monster might not break his shield. As for the Magic Power Link...

His second Summoned Beast, the Five Elements Empress, can recover strength faster as long as the Five Elements exist.

At that point, Shen Fei himself would be a mobile artillery.

As for the third, it indeed is of little use, but Shen Fei can feed it to the Vast Heaven Holy Spirit.

”Sweet!”

Shen Fei couldn’t help but laugh, learning both of the first two skills, while tossing the other into the Summoning Space to feed the Vast Heaven Holy Spirit.

”Almost there, buy some stuff, tomorrow I’ll check out the Abyss Edge!”

Shen Fei began shopping online for things he might need for the trip, not knowing how long he’d be out there.

...

Meanwhile.

At the Jiang family.

Jiang Ying and Jiang Lin sat on the sofa, Jiang Lin full of anger, ”Brother, shouldn’t we just send a team to kill Shen Fei! How dare he tread on us!

A peasant!”

”Shut up. Didn’t you hear what Fang Yuan said? Besides, do you know how popular Shen Fei is right now? Even if we kill him, it won’t be within Shencheng City!”

Jiang Ying glared at Jiang Lin, ”Focus on awakening the Holy Hall Knight. Stop leveling up and gambling out of spite!”

”But didn’t Father ask me to pursue Su Muyu? He says her background is strong!”

”That’s not how you pursue someone! You’re such a fool, hurry and level up. The joint university exchange is in half a month, and my mentor will be there as well.

I’ll recommend you to him... If you can get into Imperial University, won’t you have opportunities?”

”Alright... but what about Shen Fei?”

Jiang Lin heard Imperial University, and a look of reverence flashed in his eyes, but he still couldn’t swallow his anger.

”I’ve got people watching him. Once he leaves Shencheng City, let’s see if he has the luck to come back alive!”

Jiang Ying said with a cold laugh.
