Forty Millenniums of Cultivation

“Everyone’s words just now are very reasonable. The problems that you are worried about are very likely to happen, too. I’m not the best at weighing the military and the political issues. It’s just that, from what I’ve heard, the only thing that matters is the conflicts of interest. But I’ve rarely heard you talk

about the ‘great Dao’. Then, let’s talk about the ‘great Dao’ and the ‘belief of the federation!”

Gui Yishou held his cane and lowered his head, both as a rock on the seashore and as a rusted bell. He tapped everybody’s head with his words. Pondering for a moment, he said slowly, “To be honest, it does not seem appropriate for an old man such as myself to talk about the Cultivation of the federation.

Besides, the so-called ‘belief is mysterious and unpredictable. Countless experts and scholars have studied it for hundreds of years, but nobody has ever figured out what the ‘belief is exactly.

“But does the ‘belief really not exist? Is it just a self-deceiving illusion? A strong self-suggestion? I’m afraid you can’t say that.

“Here, I have the latest report of the Life Research Institute. It is the result of tracing the training and upgrade data of thousands of experts over the past hundred years and analyzing them in great detail.

“From the curves, we can see that the advancement of the experts of the federation over the past hundred years is closely related to the prosperity of the federation.

“The stronger the federation is, the faster the training speed of the experts will be, and the success rate of their advancement will be higher. As a result, more and more experts will emerge in the federation, and their comprehensive national strength and potential for war will soar.

“Is this just a coincidence, or is it just because of the abundance of resources, the advancement of technology, and the stability of the cultivation environment that caused the cultivators to advance by leaps and bounds? Combining a huge amount of data, including the mental sketch of the cultivator

himself, we have come to a different conclusion—besides materialism, what is more important is the spirit. It is these cultivators who firmly believe that they walk the righteous path, that they defend the righteous path, that they allow the sea of stars to embrace the great dao. Only under the

encouragement of this belief can they press forward with indomitable will, like a hot knife cutting through butter, and continuously break the limits of humanity!”

“The Life Research Institute summarizes such phenomena in one sentence—the training of human beings depends on their own hard work. But more importantly, it is the torrent of history, the righteousness of the nation, and the spirit of civilization!

“Over the past hundred years, countless Cultivators firmly believed that they were the defenders of justice. Their crazy training and hard work not only defended their family, compatriots, and home, but also the most beautiful, purest, and kindest spirit of mankind. They were not only fighting for the

‘Star Glory Federation’, but also for the ‘justice of mankind’. Or rather, the federation was justice!

“Such beliefs are the source of their strength. They are the biggest reason why the Cultivation speed and the success rate of advancement of the Cultivators of the federation are much higher than those of the Immortal Cultivators of the Star Ocean Imperium, which allowed the federation to catch up with

the development speed of the Star Ocean Imperium and defeat the Black Wind Fleet in only a hundred years!

“To be honest, this old man has lived on and off for almost a thousand years. And from the records of your history, senior, I have also gathered information on the rise and fall of countless countries and tribes over the past thousands of years. I have seen all kinds of countries, governments, and even

tribes in various forms, but I have never seen a nation like today’s federation… A nation where citizens of all kinds of races and life forms could live together without any hesitation, a nation of gold where the lower classes ascended unimpeded, and a nation of gold where the upper echelons were

relatively clean, honest, and had ambitions. The nation was thriving and thriving.

“Of course, the Star Glory Federation is not perfect. But compared to the imperium, the Holy Alliance, and the small countries scattered in the periphery of the sea of stars, this place is already the ‘hope of mankind’.

“Then, if we regard the Star Glory Federation not as an ordinary nation but as the ‘hope of mankind’, how are we going to face the war in the center of the sea of stars?

“Right now, in the center of the sea of stars, countless people are living in misery and suffering, living a life that is darker than the sun and worse than death.

“Even such miserable days could not last long. The fragile order was about to be shattered. Countless Sectors and habitable planets were about to be drowned in the raging ocean of flames. Billions of people would die without a sound. Not even their names and screams would be left.

“Those who are lucky enough to be alive will become the puppets of the Star Glory Federation. Their independent emotions and will will will be washed away, and the seals of the three fundamental laws will be left with irreversible consequences.

“Or, they will kill each other like animals and lunatics in the barren, resource-poor, barren world of the planet, while they struggle for their last breath. They will play survival games like the ‘Hell of Asura’ in the world of martial arts.

“If we don’t stop it, everything will happen in the next two to three years. There will be no power that can help the poor people in the center of the sea of stars get rid of their miserable fate.

“Of course, I can’t say that the advocates of ‘retreatment’ are wrong. From the perspective of a dutiful commander and commander-in-chief of an ordinary country, it is only reasonable that they are responsible for the lives of every soldier under their command and every citizen behind them. It is only

reasonable that they seize the greatest benefits for their country.

“However, even though they knew that billions of citizens in the center of the sea of stars were about to fall into the abyss of destruction, they still watched them die and live a life worse than death. They calculated the consumption of resources between the Star Ocean Imperium and the Sanctuary

Alliance with extreme calmness. The Federation’s best point of entry in the war… Wait for two to three years before they participate in the war. At that time, even if the Federation obtains a victory on the battlefield and a bountiful material reward, how could they face the thousands upon thousands of

wronged souls who died miserably? How could they face the Federation’s own belief? How could the cultivators of the Federation openly tell themselves that I am training for justice, for all of mankind, and for the future of the civilization of mankind? So, justice will certainly bless me. All of humanity will

definitely support me. Thousands upon thousands of fellow humans will definitely stand by my side and fight side by side with me?

“Everyone, please don’t feel that this old man is using an insubstantial theory of the great daos to suppress you. The great daos are profound and profound, but there are traces that can be traced. Over the past hundred years, the average cultivation efficiency of the cultivators of the federation has

increased by 13% compared to the previous hundred years. It is even more than 20% higher than the average cultivation efficiency of the Immortal Cultivators of the Star Ocean Imperium over the past hundred years that we have collected recently. Do you all think that this is merely luck and that the

heavens are blessing the federation?”

“I thought that was the crux of the problem. The crux was how you viewed the Star Glory Federation.

“If you consider the Star Glory Federation to be an ordinary, muddle-headed, soulless nation no different from the many nations that once flourished in the sea of stars over the past ten thousand years, and the wars between the Star Glory Federation, the Star Glory Imperium, and the Sanctuary Alliance

are just wars of interest that you are used to, wars that are waged for the hegemony of the universe, then just continue your petty, worrying discussions of interests. It’s alright. It’s very normal. It’s very reasonable.

“However, I must remind you that, as a result, the federation will lose the advantage of the Great Dao. Cultivators, Immortal Cultivators, and members of the Sanctuary Alliance will only be the difference between hypocrites and real villains. What’s the difference? In such a case, the Cultivators of the

federation will never get the enhancement of the enlightenment, the higher efficiency of training and the higher success rate of advancement than the Immortal Cultivators, or the support of the billions of people in the center of the universe.

“How can such a federation, which has lost its belief and soul, compete with the imperium and the Sanctuary Alliance?

“However, if you, as well as thousands of other Cultivators and warriors, believe that the Star Glory Federation is not just an ordinary nation but a nation with a soul, integrity, kindness, and justice, a nation that bums with the hope of the civilization of mankind, a nation destined to liberate all of

mankind, and fight for not just benefits but also justice’ and ‘liberation’, I believe that the beliefs of all the Cultivators and soldiers of the federation will be stronger, their beliefs will be purer, and their souls will be firmer. Their training efficiency and success rate will be significantly improved, as if they

have been injected with cardiac stimulants. Even things such as ‘breakthroughs on the battlefield, breakthroughs in the last minute, breakthroughs in the face of death, and breakthroughs beyond one’s level to defeat the enemy’ will be endless. The entire cultivation world of the federation will be renewed,

and you will be greatly surprised!

“Hehe. Sorry to have made you listen to so much nonsense.

“L.. [know that, in such a high-level and critical meeting, the balance between the strength of the enemy and the interests of the nation is the least of my concerns. But talking about justice’ and ‘spiritualism’ is inappropriate and even absurd.

“As for me, an old fart from the demon race, talking about the great Dao of Cultivation in front of all the Cultivators, it was more of a mockery.

“However, other than being a demon, I am also a historian and… the creator of the tombstone of the human civilization.

“Death is inevitable. No matter how splendid and brilliant a life is, in the end, it is just a short tombstone. Isn’t it the same for a country and a civilization?

“[hope that, when the Star Glory Federation is faced with the choice of life and death, it will not forget its original intention and leave a deep and colorful mark on the tombstone of the civilization of mankind. I hope that, billions of years later, the history of the Star Glory Federation will not be mixed

with the history of other ordinary human countries and be obliterated without a trace. Instead, it will leave its unique spirit and its passionate ending.. With the greatest spirit and the most firm belief, it will turn into lines of shining epitaphs and continue to inspire a new civilization billions of years

later!”
