The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss

Chapter 576: Level Improvement

”So, Pandora? Did you manage to do it?” Azraelith asks curiously as I stare at the various bones left over after completely dismantling the chandelier. I’ve been fiddling with them for a few hours.

And incredibly, I didn’t find anything useful just by looking and touching. But by using my divine weapon and shrinking it so it could get inside the bones’ structure, I found what I was looking for.

”Yes, I found it, big sister.”

’It’s a really low amount, I think.’ I think about how to extract it, looking at my sister, who’s staring at the bones with curiosity, trying to learn what I’m doing.

”Big sister, could you lie down on the floor?” I’m not sure how Mom did it, but I think I can extract this and shape it into a consumable sphere.

”Pandora, why do I need to lie on the floor?”

”Just wait patiently, sister, don’t be impatient,” I murmur, touching the bones as I start trying to extract and solidify this. Because if I just extract it, it’ll come to me.

For the extraction, I use my shrunk divine weapon, and to solidify it, I use the same principle as forming a core.

”...You’re just tricking me because you don’t want me getting in the way, aren’t you?”

”...You’re smart, big sister.” I say with a smile as she gets up from the floor, clearly irritated at almost being fooled. Meanwhile, a small sphere starts to form, and I begin shaping it into a fruit to make it easier to eat.

”Pandora, you make this kind of thing look so easy.”

”Thanks for the compliment! It’s simply that I look at the patterns!” Everything that exists tends to follow a certain kind of ”predictable movement.” Once you learn the pattern, you can do amazing things.

”I can do things you know how to do too.”

”Oh, really? And what have you learned from me?” She splits into dozens of tiny clones of herself—the ability I only got after that spider bitch kept me trapped for so long, and Azraelith copied and made something similar in no time.

”...That’s fucking unfair.” I say, seeing the clones staring at me with an arrogant smile.

”You looked cute, sister. But you’re not going to bother me, right? I’m doing something important.” I hold back my anger at her blatant copying while looking at the clones staring at me.

”Fine, I won’t bother you. I’m just showing that your arrogance is presumptuous. I can do things you do too, even if it takes me longer!” She says this with such pride it’s cute.

’It’s just a copy in the end.’ Her ability seems inferior to mine; her copies don’t seem to have the same passives as the original.

”Will it take long?” They all ask in unison.

”No. Now, could you go back to your normal size? I get it, you copied me.” I say to her, as the sphere of energy I managed to pull from the bones is the size of a cherry, and almost all the energy is already gone.

’Looks like Mommy used almost all of it... how annoying...’ If I’d known you could steal levels, I would have kept that arm from the Dragon Goddess that I won in the bet. I gave it to Mom as a present, but now I miss it.

”...” Azraelith grows back to her normal size, her copies vanishing, while I notice she’s much more ”at ease” with me than before. Or rather, we really seem like sisters now. I guess even though I stole her level, our interactions have still increased our affection.

”Hey, Azraelith, is Baeh’Wa good in bed?” I ask curiously, trying for a neutral topic, molding the energy mass into a cherry shape since apparently this is going to be the maximum size! Also, this could be called a ”Level Fruit,” since eating it will increase the consumer’s level.

”Oh, yeah, she’s okay, I guess. The thing is, she doesn’t react much or try anything, so she just moans beneath me. Plus, she kisses badly, and a lot of the time when she climaxes, her body splatters like slime on the floor, which is just annoying.”

”Hahaha, sounds tough.” I laugh at that. Despite hearing this, I don’t really feel jealous of her. It’s kind of curious, since I do like her, but I guess she’s free to sleep with others if she wants.

”Here, I’m done making it.”

”And what is that supposed to be, Pandora?” Azraelith asks, looking at the fruit in my hand.

”It’s kind of like an orb with the levels that were left in the body. By consuming it, we’ll gain whatever remained as levels.”

”But it’s so small.” She says with that kind of disappointed tone, and really, there’s no way to know how much level is left inside this. Could be a few billion, a few million, a few thousand, and in the worst-case scenario, a few hundred.

”Let’s split it!” I put the fruit in my mouth and hug Azraelith around the waist, giving her a kiss after biting the fruit to break it in two. I share the fruit’s ”pulp” with Azraelith as she hugs me back, sharing in my kiss.

”Hmmm.” The kiss is intense. Although the fruit has no taste, our tongues intertwine, sharing it for a while, before the mixture of fruit, saliva, and the heat of the kiss makes us swallow.

”...”

”Wow!!! Amazing!! Sister, my level went up to 25 billion and I got a new passive!!” I say, impressed that there were still this many levels in this corpse. They just shot up quickly and then locked.

Level = 25.000.000.000 / 100.000.000.000

Power = 24.999.953.125 / 24.999.953.125

Life = 24.999.953.125 / 24.999.953.125

Stamina = 24.999.953.125 / 24.999.953.125

Resistance = 24.999.953.125 / 24.999.953.125

Magic = 24.999.953.125 / 24.999.953.125

Total = 124.999.765.625 / 124.999.765.625

25=Anti-Gravity Hunter – A passive that turns your body into a volatile and precise environment of self-generated gravity. Your body now generates and emits different gravitational waves, which react by reducing damage from blows and increasing the power of your own strikes with gravity amplification.

”Interesting... my level went back to 100 billion, and the amount of power I can use from what I have went up to 70 billion instead of the 50 billion from before. I also got a passive; it alters gravitational centers around me and destabilizes them.”

’...Her passive is better than mine.’ It means that, in short, any gravitational mass is destabilized. It means the gravity of a planet, or even the gravity of a black hole, becomes unstable near her and can be undone.

”Hmmm, this day couldn’t be better! Level, passive, and a kiss from my sister!” I say, hugging her tightly as my tail curls around her leg.

”...I’ll give you some credit. Also, your nose is bleeding.”

”It’s nothing! It’s just a slight overload from the insane level increase! It’s literally five times more power than I had before!” I wipe the blood from my nose with my hand. I’ve had so many nosebleeds that it’s ridiculous to worry about it.

’Although I didn’t get anything else... too bad... I think this corpse is too old.’ I tried to ”devour” the goddess’s memories, but it seems there’s nothing left of her except the lingering levels.

”Pandora, now you only need 75 billion levels and you’ll be able to fight the goddesses... what do you think about that? Does it excite you? Because I have to say, I haven’t felt this excited in years! I can’t wait to crush the goddesses.”

’Yeah... but now I’ve reached the hardest part.’ How to increase levels? I’m trying every possible method to get stronger, but I doubt there’s another goddess corpse lying around for me to take levels from.

’Just going out and slaughtering monsters in the Abyss would hardly be enough for me to get my level to 100 billion.’ If I knew how to enter the foundations of creation, I could scour it for a suitable method that works for me.

”Pandora, you look discouraged.” Azraelith says, sitting on our mother’s bed.

”It’s just that a giant wall just appeared in front of me now, and I don’t know how to get past it... I’m so close, but also so far from achieving the things I need to...”

”I’m sure you’ll find a way, Pandora. Preferably one that doesn’t involve us two fighting, because guaranteed one of us would die from not being able to hold back.”

”Yeah, hahaha... yeah, I don’t want to have to fight you to increase my level through adaptation either. I’d rather look for a safer method...” The absorption of ambient level fuel is still active, but now that my level is 25 billion, it’s become so minimal that I don’t even gain 1 level per minute.

”I’m going to sleep now...”

”Really? But you practically just got here.”

”I’m exhausted, Azraelith.” I had to deal with all the destruction Mom caused when she was crossing from inside the Abyss into my universe. It literally almost got extinguished because something was firmly attached to my mother, pulling her back into the Abyss.

I had to spend 73.93% of my Mana at once to prevent the collapse, and then spend even more to stabilize the rest. So I really came back to the Abyss already tired.

”Alright, go to sleep then, Pandora. I’ll wait for you to wake up... also, if you’re tired, that’s why Violet is tired too, right?”

”Yeah, I’m not giving her magic because I’m tired!” I go to the door, giving her a wave and a little kiss.
