Ancient Godly Monarch

Chapter 1674: The Chaos in the Azure Mystic Immortal Realms

Translator: Lordbluefire Editor: Lordbluefire

The Azure Mystic Immortal Realms. It has been close to 200 years since the war in the Evergreen Immortal Empire. That war, startled the heavens and earth, over half of the major powers in the immortal realms had participated in that.

The Skymist Immortal Empire, Paragon Sword Sect, Taihua Immortal Dynasty, Senluo Immortal Empire, Nine-Emperors Immortal Empire, Sacred Sun Sect, Phoeroc Race, Heavenhold Demon Race, Void Beast Race, White Tiger Race, in addition to the Eastern Sage Immortal Emperor, the Violet Emperor and other terrifying existences. All of them descended personally at the Evergreen Immortal Empire to kill a single Qin Wentian.

But for that war, there was also plenty of powers who fought for Qin Wentian.

The Evergreen Immortal Empire, Thousand Transformations Immortal Sect, Southern Phoenix Clan, Matriarch Ji, Emperor Yu… many powerful experts fought for the sake of protecting Qin Wentian. In fact, even the three great devil halls of the Myriad Devil Islands had participated to help him. Other than this, the monks from the Askheart Temple had joined in as well. But despite their strength, they still failed to protect Qin Wentian. He arrived at the Evergreen Immortal Empire with the Southern Phoenix Matriarch, cloaked in multi-colored light as he proposed to Evergreen Qing`er. With his cultivation base at the immortal king realm, he killed three immortal emperors in a single battle, exuding boundless magnificence. But ultimately, he still died at the end as his dao vanished.

For that war, over half of the peak powers in the immortal realms had joined in. That could be said to be an era-determining battle.

That battle had also affected the entire immortal realms. From that day onwards, true chaos descended as the peak powers rampaged against each other. The entire realms descended into the flames of war. Naturally, other than the war where Qin Wentian had died, the appearances of the dao elements in the City of Ancient Emperors had added to the cause. Because of the dao elements’ existence, the people of the Azure Mystic Immortal Realms had no choice but to fight each other for them. Many people contended against each other for a single dao element, each hoping to gain enough insights for them to break through to the ancient emperor level. No matter how slight the possibility was, since it existed before their eyes, they naturally had to fight for it even if their fight caused the heavens and earth to crumble.

And through these two hundred years, the impact of these many battles had ravaged the land, causing many experts to die. At the same time, there were also many legends that rose up.

Among these characters that rose up, all of them were extremely famous in the City of Ancient Emperors. They were all those characters who were at the very peak of the immortal king realm back then in the City of Ancient Emperors. And now, although some of them had died, the others were gradually climbing to the peak. There were people who once silently mused…back then, Qin Wentian defeated every single one of his enemies in the City of Ancient Emperors. Regardless of whether they were supreme demons from the Sun Gold Race, peak-level geniuses from the Phoeroc Race, all of them were not a match for him. In fact, even the supreme crown prince of the Senluo Immortal Empire, as well as Jia Huangtian of the Phoeroc Race, were both killed by him, which invoked the furies of both the Senluo Immortal Emperor and the elders of the Pheoroc Race.

If Qin Wentian didn’t die, what heights would he have reached…?

Nobody knew this. Everyone only knew that Evergreen Qing`er, whom Qin Wentian gave his life to protect back then, has now already broken through to the mid-stage of the immortal emperor realm, with unparalleled control over spatial law energy, possessing numerous terrifying spatial slaughtering arts. She even had the strength to contend against ordinary peak-stage immortal emperors and could be said to be extremely powerful.

Right now, Evergreen Qing`er was known as the White-Hair Killing Goddess in the immortal realms. Because, she had a headful of silvery white hair and her hands were stained by the blood of her countless enemies. This was because, there were simply too many people who wanted to kill her, and too many people she wanted to kill. For those who had participated in the war back then and had participated in taking Qin Wentian’s life, she wanted to hunt them down one by one. Hence, that princess of the Evergreen Immortal Empire that was once as pure as a snow lotus, gained the title of the killing goddess. Even the Eastern Sage Immortal Emperor, who had hatred with Qin Wentian back then, was forced into hiding by her. He didn’t dare to show himself alone any longer.

Naturally, the increase in fame also put huge pressure on Qing`er. Many people wanted to kill her while they could now, not wanting her to grow any further. If it wasn’t because of the fact that she had the Evergreen Immortal Emperor and White Emperor, who had both broken through to the peak-stage of the immortal emperor realm, behind her. As well as her master Matriarch Ji and multiple immortal emperors as her apprentice sisters behind her back, she might have already died. But even so, the Evergreen Immortal Empire was in tatters, no longer having the glory it had in the past. The population here had grown sparse. Vast stretches of land ravaged by war could be commonly seen and they were now in the middle of a crisis.

Other than Evergreen Qing`er, Qin Wentian’s junior brother from back then, Jun Mengchen, was also now a legendary character. Everyone gave him the title of Great Emperor Dominance, capable of dominating everything under the heavens, exuding boundless imposingness. From this title, one could imagine how strong he was.

Also, Qin Wentian’s adorable demonic beast companion, that was a heaven devouring beast, has now matured into a supreme-grade greater demon. Ordinary characters didn’t dare to antagonize him at all.

The Samsara Emperor Hua Taixu had once helped Evergreen Qing`er out before as well, rescuing the White-Hair Killing Goddess from a crisis or Evergreen Qing`er would have already died.

Also, the grand priestess of the Myriad Devil Island’s judiciary devil hall, Blood Empress, was also said to have an unusual relationship with Qin Wentian. All of these people connected to Qin Wentian, had shocking growth in their strength.

Hence, this led everyone to muse that if Qin Wentian was still alive, how much more shocking would he be compared to his friends given his absurdly high talent.

Naturally, that was nothing more than a fantasy. Death was death. After that battle, Qin Wentian was blasted so badly that even his soul scattered, his body has long fade to dust. If it wasn’t for the battle being too shocking as well as his friends all being too outstanding, he most probably would have already been forgotten by the Azure Mystic Immortal Realms. This was especially so given how many legendary characters have risen through out these 200 years.

And right now, those companions of Qin Wentian from those years ago, were currently encountering a great crisis.

That year, when the two factions warred in the Evergreen Immortal Empire, they did say that as long as Qin Wentian died, all grudges would be wiped clean. However, everyone understood that suggestion was only brought up because both parties had reservations and didn’t have the courage to start a true all-out battle. If not, the situation would end up in one where both the net is broken and the fishes died. It was unknown how many people would die.

After all, it wasn’t so easy for hatred to be wiped clean just with words. During these years, the countless battles that has occurred have already proved this point. The influence of the war back then continued to affect the various peak powers of the Azure Mystic Immortal Realms even today.

Ever since the Demon God Mountain descended on the boundlessly vast Desolate Mountain Range, an unknown number of powerful greater demons appeared, rising up rapidly. Right now, the demons here were already spread all around the immortal realms and they had already encroached on the territories of humans, seeking to invade them.

At this moment, at a certain area in the Desolate Mountain Range, the wind and sand stirred as the land was shrouded in darkness. Terrifying demonic qi permeated the atmosphere, as the demons in the surroundings all retreated backwards as they stared with fear at that particular area. Over there, two extremely terrifying demons could be seen. Both were heaven devouring beasts and they were attempting to devour everything in their scope of influence. One was an extremely old heaven devouring beast with nine heads, the other one was a young heaven devouring beast that was brimming with blood vitality. His golden skin gleamed resplendently, there was no doubt that when it grows up in the future, it would be a king among heaven devouring beasts.

However, their opponents were even more terrifying. Jia Yemo of the Phoeroc Race had personally acted to hunt them down. His gleaming golden body and wing span blotted out the sun completely. Right now, this king of the Phoeroc Race was in its true form. Other than him, another gigantic demon beast that was of the Sun Gold Race was here as well. The giant demon beast manifested a sun spear that was over ten thousand feet long, the heat it emitted seemed capable of refining everything in this world, simply fearsome to the extreme.

“ROAR~” A heaven-shaking roar rang out from the young heaven devouring beast. Runic lights flared around his maw as he activated his innate ability of devouring, clashing head-on with his opponents. The old heaven devouring beast by his side had already suffered a terrible injury, he had a sun spear pierced through his body and was pinned to the ground. Fresh blood continued to flow from his wound, dying the nearby ground red. The resplendent sun spear emitted terrifying heat, glowing in destructive brilliance.

“Go, don’t care about me!” That old heaven devouring beast roared. With a piercing sound, yet another resplendent sun spear pierced through him, nailing him to the ground completely, stopping his attempt at getting up.

“ROAR!” The young heaven devouring beast howled in madness. His large eyes shimmered with golden tears, he tried many times wanting to break out of the siege and bring the old heaven devouring beast away, but all his attempts ended in failure. Without a choice, he unleashed his ultimate technique. The area around his body shined with runic light, they transformed spatial energy which enveloped him before he disappeared from sight.

“Crafty vile creature!” Jia Yemo howled. He transformed into a beam of light and rapidly vanished. The killing intent in his eyes was extremely terrifying to behold.

“Kill him and bring his corpse back!” That terrifying sun gold beast commanded. After that, he also rushed forth with great speed and continued pursuing. They had long tolerated this young heaven devouring beast enough, he kept devouring many demons of the various races and causing trouble everywhere and was also extremely sly. Now, they had finally caught him, they must kill him for sure.

After they left, many demon emperors came here. They stared at the old heaven devouring beast who was on the verge of death. No matter what, this particular heaven devouring beast was considered someone famous in their Desolate Mountain Range. What a pity…

Numerous terrifying attacks landed unceasingly on the old heaven devouring beast’s body, completely destroying the aged heaven devouring beast’s life.

Far away, the golden heaven devouring beast transformed into a golden-winged roc and sped through the air. Its large eyes were filled with tears. He inclined his head and stared at the sky and couldn’t help but to recall the carefree days where he spent his time relaxed around that someone.

Right now, that memory seemed extremely far away. Even their mutual connection had been completely cut due to that war in the Evergreen Immortal Empire so many years ago.

Did he really die just like that?

…

In the southern region that was extremely far away from the Desolate Mountains, the Southern Phoenix Immortal City was no longer as peaceful and prosperous as those years ago. Right now, many enemy troops had arrived, the immortal city seemed to be on the verge of collapse.

There were three ancient clans in the south and they had always shared the authority and control of the southern regions. The three clans are respectively known as the Ying Clan, the Southern Phoenix Clan and the Jiang Clan. Each of them governed an area and had maintained peace in the southern regions for countless years. However, after that war in the Evergreen Immortal Empire, things started to change as the state of balance wavered. At the end, a war had erupted.

The Ying Clan challenged and provoked the Southern Phoenix Clan multiple times while the Southern Phoenix Clan fought back. The conflict between these two ancient clans occurred frequently and unceasingly. Things gradually got more serious as large-scale battles started and lasted for over a hundred years. The waves of their battles naturally affected the entire southern regions. Many other powers were forced to choose a side to support.

Although the Jiang Clan didn’t participate in this war, their attitude was very subtle, they were faintly leaning towards supporting the Ying Clan. Hence, through these years, the Ying Clan gradually obtained an advantage and caused the disparity between their strengths to increase. Right now, the Ying Clan alone led their army to war, attacking the Southern Phoenix Clan. In fact, their army had already surrounded the Southern Phoenix Immortal City, trapping the Southern Phoenix Clan within.

The Southern Phoenix Clan has summoned all their members, who were outside, to come back. Right now, in the Southern Phoenix Clan, the Southern Phoenix Matriarch stood there calmly, exuding boundless elegance, magnificence and calmness. She was prepared to enter the war that would decide her clan’s fate.

However, at this moment, from the inheritance grounds of the Southern Phoenix Clan, a terrifying pressure could be felt emitting from there. That place, was the place where the phoenix ancestor was located!
