The Lifelong Saint Hall, inside the ancient hall, the Realmlord was seated on the throne. He exuded majesty and there were two rows of experts at the empyrean level before him. They stood there with solemn expressions, giving off a huge sense of pressure.

Qin Wentian, Di Tian and Jialan Jiangshan all stood in the front most row with many others behind them. Some of the people behind them were Sun Qian, Lin Ba, Zhuge Xiong, etc. These were all witnesses of the incident and naturally had to come.

“We pay our respects to Realmlord.” All of them bowed. Regardless of whether they were sincere or not, at the very least, a respectful expression could be seen on their faces now.

The Lifelong Realmlord didn’t say anything, he simply stared at them. The people standing all lowered their heads and after that, Di Tian took the lead and spoke, “Supervisory Commander of the Lifire Palace, Di Tian, begs your eminence for forgiveness.”

“Oh? What crime did you commit?” The Realmlord’s voice turned cold, no longer as casual as how he chatted with the others in this great hall before their arrival. However, a heavy pressure could be felt within his casual tone.

“In Lifire City, the Lifire Empyrean had designs on Governor Qin, wanting to frame the death of a monarch onto him, using this excuse as he sought the death of Governor Qin. After I received news from central governor of the Lifire Palace, Sun Qian, and after joining forces with Jialan Jiangshan I immediately rushed over, wanting to stop the Lifire Empyrean. However, the Lifire Empyrean was extremely tyrannical, treating all of us as traitors and wanting to slaughter everyone there. Helplessly, we could only choose to act together and killed the Lifire Empyrean. Realmlord, please forgive us.” Di Tian bowed very low.

Although his words sounded logical, it was still a fact that he killed one of the world palace lords and did so before he informed his intentions up to the Lifelong Saint Hall. This was simply acting first and reporting later.

“You’ve already killed him before coming to beg for forgiveness. Acting first and making a report after? Although I conferred upon you the position of the supervisory commander, when had I ever given you the authority to kill my world palace lords?” The voice of the Realmlord was ice-cold as a formless pressure bore down on Di Tian.

“Realmlord, the situation at that time was extremely tense and the Lifire Empyrean had already gone crazy, using the lives of others to threaten me. If we didn’t kill him, a scene of massacre would definitely happen. Given the Lifire Empyrean’s strength, other than a few people, no one else would be able to block him if he wanted to start a massacre.” Di Tian kept his back bowed as he replied.

“In that case, you were acting for justice and were helping me to clean my subordinates up?” The Lifelong Realmlord coldly snorted.

“Your subordinate doesn’t dare to.” Di Tian lowered his head even more. The Realmlord snorted, how would he not be able to tell that Di Tian was putting up a play? He had even brought members from the Xuanyuan Clan, Jialan Clan and many others from major powers in Lifelong City to act as his witnesses that his slaying the Lifire Empyrean was an act that was necessary.

“You don’t dare to? You are truly audacious!” The Realmlord coldly snapped. “From now onwards, your position as the supervisory commander of the Lifire Palace will be stripped. Also for the lack of tax contribution during the development of your Emperor Pavilion, you are to pay out ten times the amount of tax you didn’t pay through these years. Any objections?”

“Your subordinate will comply.” Di Tian nodded respectfully.

“Jialan Jiangshan.” The Realmlord then turned his gaze towards Jialan Jiangshan as he coldly spoke. “What about you? Back then when you contended against the Lifire Empyrean for authority, I had always closed one eye. Today, who gave you the guts to directly kill one of my direct subordinates? One of the nine world palace lords?”

“Jialan knows my crime.” Jialan Jiangshan didn’t dare to explain. Right now, no one knew what the Realmlord was thinking.

“In the future when you do things, use more of your brains.” The Realmlord coldly spoke. Jialan Jiangshan turned pale. The Realmlord was mocking him.

As the true master of the Jialan Clan that was at the empyrean realm, he had lived for so many years but ended up being used by a junior like Di Tian. It was truly brainless. The Realmlord’s mockery was nothing much because it’s true that all the Jialan Clan’s effort this time around, ended up benefiting someone else.

Lastly, the Realmlord turned to Qin Wentian and spoke, “Governor Qin, you are the most innocent out of all. You were narrowly framed and killed, it must have been tough on you. Beauty Xiao also died because of this. It’s understandable about why you acted to kill the Lifire Empyrean.”

“Many thanks Realmlord.” Qin Wentian bowed.

The Lifelong Realmlord shifted his eyes away and glanced at everyone gathered below him, “The Lifire Empyrean acted too tyrannical and should have been punished indeed. Since he has already died, just forget everything then. Zhuge Xiong instigated his palace lord to break the laws. Since this is the case, he ought to die as well. Men, drag him out and execute him.”

“Realmlord, I know my mistakes!” Zhuge Xiong howled but he was forcibly dragged away by the Realmlord’s subordinates despite his pleading. This caused the hearts of everyone to tremble. The Realmlord was establishing his might using Zhuge Xiong to remind them all.

Very swiftly, a scream of misery rang out from the outside. Zhuge Xiong had been executed.

“Right now, the Lifire Palace is like a group of dragons without a leader. What do you all think?” The Realmlord swept his gaze at everyone here as he asked.

Right now, the great hall had fallen silent. This was the question everyone wanted to know the answer to.

Next, who would take over the Lifire Palace Lord’s position?

“Realmlord, how about sending someone from the Lifelong Saint Hall to take over the Lifire Palace Lord’s position?” A subordinate beside the Realmlord’s throne suggested.

“Realmlord, your subordinate has a suggestion.” At this moment, Di Tian spoke out.

“Speak.” The Lifelong Realmlord turned to Di Tian, as Di Tian continued, “I believe that the new palace lord should be either Senior Jialan or Governor Qin. The successor should be chosen between them two. Everyone knows that Senior Jialan had been putting in all his efforts to work for the Realmlord all these years, given the authority the Jialan Clan wields in Lifire City, in addition to the fact that one of the Jialan Clan’s members had also served as one of the nine monarchs before, Senior Jialan is extremely familiar with operations and is an extremely suitable choice as a successor.”

“And for Governor Qin, he himself is originally the northern city governor of the Lifire Palace. His control over the northern city regions is absolute and everyone in his governor’s manor respects him very much. If he takes over the position, everyone in the city would be satisfied and submit to his authority. He is also a very suitable candidate for a successor.”

In any case, the possibility of Qin Wentian being chosen was extremely great as he himself was already a governor and had displayed empyrean-level strength now. He was also the party that was the most passive and innocent in this entire affair. The only stain he had now was that he still had not been cleared of the suspicion of killing the Jialan Monarch.”

“Logical words. What about you? As the supervisory commander, your investigations revealed Xia Hou and Yin Qiu’s problems and now, you have also stopped the Lifire Empyrean’s killing of Governor Qin in time. This can also be considered an achievement of great merit. Also, given the current influence your Emperor Pavilion has in Lifire City, wouldn’t it be more suitable for you to take over as the Lifire Palace Lord?” The Realmlord stared at Di Tian as he spoke, a playful tone could be heard in his voice.

“Your subordinate dares not think too much about that possibility.” Di Tian lowered his head.

“You don’t dare?” The Realmlord and his subordinates around him all stared at Di Tian. This fellow recommended Jialan Jiangshan and Qin Wentian right off the bat, he didn’t want anyone from the Lifelong Saint Hall to be transferred over to take the Lifire Palace Lord’s position. It was obvious that he wanted the Realmlord to pick a candidate from the three of them. Right at the start, he left out himself in the recommendations but in reality, none of the two he recommended had a better reason than him. He, Di Tian, was the key behind this entire plan of killing the Lifire Empyrean. When speaking of merit, his merit is naturally higher than the other two who were merely being used.

“What a sly fellow.” Everyone mused, silently cursing at Di Tian’s craftiness, advancing in the guise of a retreat. His talent was so high yet he was still so crafty. No wonder the Lifire Empyrean was played to death by his schemes.

Di Tian lowered his head and no longer spoke. His purpose was precisely to let everyone think that he was a crafty and scheming fellow. He wanted them to think that he had plotted everything out, strategizing the Lifire Empyrean’s death step by step all for the sake of him ascending to the Palace Lord’s position. Hence, he didn’t mask his intents at all.

The Realmlord would only dare to use people with flaws. If the Realmlord knows of his connection with Qin Wentian and felt that Qin Wentian had a part to play in the schemes as well, he definitely wouldn’t use either of them.

Right now, no matter how the Realmlord chooses, both him and Qin Wentian had a much higher probability of being chosen compared to Jialan Jiangshan. In fact, the possibility of him being chosen was higher because the Realmlord felt that Qin Wentian was Ancient Emperor Yi’s disciple.

“Qin Wentian, you will temporarily replaced Zhuge Xiong as the grand governor and settle everything that needs to be settled in the Lifire Palace. Organize the people probably.” The Lifelong Realmlord commanded.

“Yes, Realmlord.” Qin Wentian’s expression didn’t changed. He bowed and accepted the order, as low-profile as ever.

“Alright, all of you can disperse for now and wait for my orders.” The Lifelong Realmlord waved his hands in dismissal. This was also something they had predicted. The Realmlord would at most only punish them on the surface. After all, it was true that the Lifire Empyrean had made a mistake and they had settled things beautifully. There was nothing more the Realmlord could say.

After Qin Wentian and the others left, the Realmlord stared at the subordinates around him as one of them laughed, “Realmlord, this Di Tian is truly a character. If he can be loyal to you, you can consider him to take over the Lifire Palace Lord’s position.”

“I’ll consider things a little more.”

The Realmlord stood up and walked out from the great hall, arriving at an elegant courtyard.

Not long after, the Realmlord sat there, enjoying food with beautiful wine and there were even beauties before him presenting their dance. These beauties were none other than the people from the Red Dust Immortal Palace, Ye Qianyu was also aomg them.

Beside him, Beiming Youhuang silently stood there, watching the dance as well.

The Lifelong Realmlord slowly sipped his wine as his gaze focused on a beautiful figure out of all the dancers. A trace of heat could be seen in his gaze and after a long time, the dance stopped but he still didn’t say anything, only continuing to drink his wine. After another long period of time, he finally spoke, “The Lifire Empyrean is dead, killed by Qin Wentian.”

Ye Qianyu and Beiming Youhuang both trembled as their hearts were rocked by waves of shock.

Ye Qianyu didn’t feel that it was strange for Qin Wentian to kill the Lifire Empyrean, she knew this would happen sooner or later. It was just that she didn’t expect this to occur so fast. Her beautiful eyes stared at the Lifelong Realmlord, she didn’t know if this matter would place Qin Wentian in danger or not.

“Don’t you have anything you wish to say?” The Realmlord asked Ye Qianyu.

“Realmlord, what do you want me to say?” Ye Qianyu replied softly.

“There are people recommending him for the position of the Lifire Palace Lord. However, I’m thinking that he killed the Lifire Empyrean because of you. In that case, when he grows strong enough in the future, wouldn’t he target to kill me as well?” The Realmlord stated, looking at Ye Qianyu. His words caused Ye Qianyu to turn pale. If the Realmlord thought this way, Qin Wentian would truly be in danger.

“Realmlord, you are not the Lifire Empyrean. Leaving aside your strength and status, just based on the fact that Realmlord has never made things difficult for me before, Qin Wentian would only feel gratitude towards you. Why would he have that sort of thinking?” Ye Qianyu hesitated for a moment before she replied.
