Villain: Manipulating the Heroines into hating the Protagonist

Chapter 480 Beating Lin Fei In Alchemy

As the journey continued, Lin Xingya and Wang Jian were engrossed in conversation, their voices mingling with the rustle of the wind around them. Lin Fei, however, trailed behind, seething with suppressed anger.

ʼHow dare she look at him like that?ʼ Lin Fei fumed inwardly, his fists clenched at his sides. ʼAnd Wang Jian, with that smug smile on his face...ʼ

But despite his boiling resentment, Lin Fei held himself back. He knew this wasnʼt the time or place to let his emotions get the better of him.

Wang Jian, meanwhile, couldnʼt help but feel a twinge of amusement at Lin Feiʼs restraint. He noted the simmering anger in Lin Feiʼs eyes, but the fact that he didnʼt dare to act on it just amused Wang Jian to not ends.

As they flew through the air, Lin Xingya and Wang Jianʼs conversation turned to a subject close to Lin Xingyaʼs heart—the Imperial Sovereign Pellet.

”So, tell me more about this Imperial Sovereign Pellet that you plan to concoct,” Wang Jian prompted, genuinely intrigued.

Lin Xingyaʼs eyes sparkled with excitement as she launched into an explanation. ”Itʼs an incredible pellet that can completely transform oneʼs cultivation. With the Imperial Sovereign Physique, Iʼll be able to enhance my affinity with the Wind Element and accelerate my cultivation speed.”

Wang Jian listened intently, his curiosity piqued. ”And youʼve already found most of the herbs needed for it?”

”Yes, and thanks to you, I found the final two herbs—the Luminara Blossom and the Ephemeral Moon Orchid,” Lin Xingya replied.

Wang Jian grinned, pleased to have been of assistance. ”Have you thought about who will concoct the pellet for you? Itʼs no small task, especially with such rare and precious ingredients.”

Lin Xingya shook her head. ”Not yet, but I plan to look for a skilled alchemist once we return home.”

At this point, Wang Jian leaned in, a confident gleam in his eyes. ”Well, look no further. Iʼm confident in my abilities as an alchemist. Give me the recipe, and Iʼll have that pellet ready for you in no time.”

Suddenly, a burst of laughter interrupted their conversation, and both Lin Xingya and Wang Jian turned to see Lin Fei approaching with a smirk on his face.

”Whatʼs so funny?” Lin Xingya asked, puzzled by her adopted brotherʼs amusement.

Lin Fei couldnʼt contain his mirth as he addressed Wang Jian. ”Forgive me for eavesdropping, but I couldnʼt help but laugh at your boast. A true alchemist knows that concocting such a rare pellet isnʼt as simple as following a recipe. It takes skill, experience, precise control of the flame and even the quality of the flame.”

Wang Jian bristled at the challenge to his expertise, but before he could retort, Lin Fei spoke up again, turning to Lin Xingya with a confident smile.

”Did you know, sister, that Iʼm also an alchemist? And not just any alchemist—I have the ability to wield Phoenix Flames, which can greatly enhance the purity of the pellet.”

Lin Xingyaʼs eyes widened in surprise. She had no idea that her brother possessed such skills.

Now faced with a choice between Wang Jian and Lin Fei, Lin Xingya was torn. Both men seemed confident in their abilities, but who should she trust?

Before she could decide, a maid approached, whispering in her ear. Lin Xingyaʼs eyes lit up with understanding as she realized she had enough herbs for both Wang Jian and Lin Fei to have a chance.

”Letʼs make this interesting,” she declared with a mischievous smile. ”Iʼll give each of you a set of herbs and see who can concoct the Imperial Sovereign Pellet first.”

Wang Jian and Lin Fei exchanged a glance, their competitive spirits ignited. It was on.

Soon, after reaching the Southern Settlement and meeting up with the human cultivators in the area, Lin Xingya, Lin Xingyaʼs trio of maids, Wang Jian, and Lin Fei left the Forbidden Celestial Abyss Star.

They were now on a Flying Ship as it traversed the starry expanse towards the large settlement of the Heavenly Sea Star that was within the starry region of the Lin Family, one of the twelve ancient families.

The bustling city settlement of Heavenly Sea Star greeted them with its vibrant energy as Lin Xingyaʼs flying ship gently touched down. The streets were alive with the sounds of merchants haggling, cultivators training, and the occasional burst of laughter echoing through the air.

Stepping off the ship, Lin Xingya led the way through the throngs of people, her maids trailing behind her, and Wang Jian and Lin Fei close by her side. The anticipation of the alchemical challenge ahead hung thick in the air.

As they made their way through the market, Lin Xingyaʼs eyes sparkled with excitement. ”This way,” she called, leading them to a shop adorned with intricate alchemical symbols.

Inside, the shopkeeper greeted them with a friendly smile. ”Ah, Lady Lin, itʼs a pleasure to see you again. What can I do for you today?”

Lin Xingya returned the smile. ”Weʼre in need of your finest cauldrons for a special occasion.”

The shopkeeperʼs eyes widened in understanding. ”Ah, I see. Follow me, please.”

Wang Jian and Lin Fei exchanged a glance, both eager to get started on the challenge that lay ahead.

Soon, they found themselves in front of two gleaming cauldrons, each more magnificent than the last. Lin Xingya nodded in approval. ”These will do nicely.”

With a flourish, the shopkeeper handed over the cauldrons, along with a few words of encouragement. ”Good luck to you all. May your endeavors be successful.”

With the cauldrons secured, Lin Xingya wasted no time in dividing the herbs and recipes between Wang Jian and Lin Fei. As they set up their respective stations some distance apart, the atmosphere crackled with anticipation.

Wang Jianʼs eyes gleamed with determination as he studied the recipe in front of him. ”Letʼs do this,” he declared, igniting the flames beneath his cauldron with a flick of his wrist.

As they set up their cauldrons on the ground near a serene forest, a sense of rivalry simmered beneath the surface.

Lin Fei, confident in his abilities as an alchemist and bolstered by the power of the Phoenix Flame, approached his task with unwavering determination. ʼIʼve got this in the bag,ʼ he thought to himself, his chest swelling with pride.

Occasionally, Lin Xingya would glance between the two, her heart swelling with pride at the sight of her companionsʼ dedication. ”Youʼre doing great,” she offered, a reassuring smile on her lips.

Wang Jian flashed her a confident grin. ”Just wait until you see the final result.”

Lin Fei nodded in agreement, his focus unwavering. ”Indeed. This will be a masterpiece.”

As the herbs mingled within the cauldron, a potent aura began to emanate from the vessel, signaling the birth of something extraordinary. Lin Feiʼs chest swelled with pride as he stole a glance at Wang Jianʼs cauldron. ʼJust as I suspected, his pillʼs aura is feeble compared to mine. Victory is within my grasp.ʼ

But while Lin Fei basked in his own perceived superiority, Wang Jian remained undeterred, his focus unwavering as he infused the laws of alchemy, flames, and wind into his concoction. With each movement, he seemed to tap into a higher realm of understanding, his pellet taking on an otherworldly brilliance.

Hours passed, the forest around them cloaked in a veil of silence as the two alchemists toiled away. And then, with a dramatic flourish, Lin Fei lifted the lid of his cauldron, revealing a peak-grade Imperial Sovereign Pellet—a testament to his skill and dedication.

Lin Xingya and her maids erupted into cheers, their excitement palpable as they marveled at Lin Feiʼs achievement. With a sense of triumph, Lin Fei stepped forward, offering the pellet to Lin Xingya with a flourish.

But as he watched her reaction, his heart sank. Lin Xingya, ever patient and considerate, shook her head with a gentle smile. ”Thereʼs no rush, Lin Fei. Letʼs wait for Wang Jian.”

Frustration gnawed at Lin Feiʼs insides, but he swallowed his pride, nodding in acquiescence.

Meanwhile, Wang Jianʼs cauldron continued to bubble and hiss, the air around it thrumming with an intensity that sent shivers down Lin Feiʼs spine. And then, with a final burst of flame, Wang Jian lifted the lid of his cauldron, unleashing a wave of energy that swept across the entire region.

Lin Xingya, Lin Fei, and her maids stood frozen in awe, their eyes wide with disbelief. For within Wang Jianʼs cauldron lay not just a peak-grade Imperial Sovereign Pellet, but something far greater—a peak-grade Dao Sovereign Pellet, a treasure beyond compare.

The shock on Lin Feiʼs face quickly turned to anger, his fists clenching at his sides as he struggled to process the magnitude of Wang Jianʼs achievement. ʼHow... how is this possible?ʼ

As the realization of Wang Jianʼs triumph settled over them, Lin Xingya and her maids erupted into cheers, their excitement mingling with admiration for Wang Jian who had surpassed all expectations.
