Villain: Manipulating the Heroines into hating the Protagonist

Chapter 472 Successful Tactic To Sadden Lin Xingya

?As Wang Jian continued his exploration of the southern region of the Forbidden Celestial Abyss Star, he sought information about Lin Xingya from the locals residing in inns and taverns.

Engaging in lively conversations with the cultivators, Wang Jian skillfully gathered details about the current circumstances and the role Lin Xingya played in the ongoing conflict with the Ancient Forbidden Clan of demons.

In the bustling atmosphere of a tavern, Wang Jian approached a group of cultivators, raising his mug in greeting. ”Hey there, friends! Mind if I join you for a drink?” he exclaimed, adopting a friendly demeanor.

One of the cultivators, an older man with a long white beard, gestured to an empty seat. ”Sure thing! Join us. We always welcome new faces.”

As Wang Jian settled into the conversation, he casually brought up the subject of Lin Xingya. ”Iʼve heard some intriguing stories about a beauty named Lin Xingya. Mind sharing some tales about her. Iʼm quite new around here, and Iʼm curious to know more about her.”

The cultivators exchanged glances before the older man chuckled. ”Lin Xingya, you say. Ah, sheʼs a force to be reckoned with. Came here not too long ago. Itʼs said she is seeking some rare herbs from the extreme northern territory. The catch is that those herbs are guarded by the Forbidden Demon Clan.”

Wang Jian leaned in with feigned curiosity. ”Forbidden Demon Clan, you say? Tell me more about them.”

Another cultivator, a woman with a stern expression, chimed in. ”The Forbidden Demon Clan is a menace. They control the northern region, and anyone who dares to cross them faces the wrath of demons. Lin Xingya, however, is no ordinary cultivator. Sheʼs one of the strongest among all of us. She is determined to take on the Forbidden Demon Clan and has joined hands with other powerful experts.”

Inwardly, Wang Jian couldnʼt help but smirk at the unfolding information. ʼLin Xingya has taken it upon herself to slaughter the Forbidden Demon Clan. Interesting.ʼ

As the night progressed, Wang Jian continued to collect anecdotes and insights from different groups of cultivators. He learned that Lin Xingya and her three maids were among the strongest individuals in the southern settlement, earning great respect and prestige among their peers.

Days passed as Wang Jian observed the dynamics of the settlement.

Lin Xingyaʼs reputation grew as she actively participated in the resistance against the Forbidden Demon Clan. It became clear that her motivations went beyond personal gain; she believed in the duty of eradicating demons as a responsibility of humanity.

Wang Jian decided not to approach Lin Xingya immediately. His cultivation at the Ninth Stage of the Divine Origin Realm was a stark contrast to her formidable prowess at the Ninth Stage of the Divine Spirit Realm. He needed to bolster to do something else if he wanted to gain her favor.

The clever tactic Wang Jian devised involved a discreet investigation. Roaming the settlement, he meticulously swept every soul with his heightened spiritual sense, searching for a particular trait among the residents.

After several days of meticulous scanning, Wang Jian identified an individual whose Divine Soul exhibited a hint of the Law of Contracts intertwined with demonic energy. This marked the individual as a spy of the Forbidden Demon Clan among the humans.

With a sly grin, Wang Jian observed the spy from the shadows. Choosing not to confront her openly, he sent spiritual voice transmissions discreetly.

”Hello there,” Wang Jianʼs voice echoed in the spyʼs mind. ”I know your secret. Youʼre a spy of the demon clan, arenʼt you?”

The spy, taken aback, looked around, attempting to identify the source of the mysterious voice. Failing to find anyone, she questioned aloud, ”Whoʼs there? What do you want?”

Wang Jian continued to send voice transmissions, revealing his knowledge of her demonic contract and offering a proposition. ”I want you to do something for me. If you comply, Iʼll keep your secret. If not, Iʼll expose you to every human cultivator here.”

The spy, torn between the fear of exposure and potential cooperation, grappled with the decision laid before her.

Wang Jian, concealed and patient, awaited her response, knowing that this interaction might pave the way for him to manipulate the situation to his advantage.

In the covert exchange of spiritual voice transmissions, Wang Jian laid out his next set of instructions for the spy of the Forbidden Demon Clan. He needed her to play a pivotal role in orchestrating events that would unfold on the Forbidden Celestial Abyss Star.

”Listen carefully,” Wang Jianʼs voice echoed in the spyʼs mind, maintaining an air of secrecy. ”Youʼre going to provide the demons with a golden opportunity—one that will enable them to capture one of Lin Xingyaʼs personal maids. This is crucial.”

The spy, grappling with fear and uncertainty, questioned, ”…You are targeting Lin Xingyaʼs personal maid? But why?”

Wang Jian, exhibiting a confident and persuasive tone, explained his rationale.

”Capturing a personal maid of Lin Xingya will be a significant move for the Forbidden Clan of Demons. It will allow them to use the maid as bait to lure Lin Xingya into a trap. Even these demons understand the importance of Lin Xingya, belonging to the Lin Family—one of the twelve Ancient Families of the Eastern Region of the Upper Realm.”

As he spoke, Wang Jian described the location meticulously, ”Tell them that it is the vulnerable outpost near the Sky Wind Peaks, between the Yellow Valley and the large Ice Lake,” Wang Jian commanded, the details painting a vivid picture of the precise location.

As the spy absorbed this critical information, fear began to creep into her thoughts.

She questioned the veracity of Wang Jianʼs details, suspecting that he might be leading her into a trap.

The repercussions of deceiving the demons were dire—

activation of the Demonic Contractʼs restriction, leading to her immediate demise.

Sensing her apprehension, Wang Jian, still hidden from view, addressed her concerns. ”Donʼt worry,” he reassured her. ”The information I provided is accurate. You wonʼt face any consequences if you follow my instructions.”

The spy, caught between the fear of her demonic overlords and the assurance from Wang Jian, grappled with the decision.

Despite her reservations, she tentatively agreed to carry out Wang Jianʼs instructions.

Unbeknownst to the spy, the information Wang Jian provided was indeed accurate.

Through his meticulous scanning of the cultivators in the southern settlement, he had overheard discussions about an impending attack on a weakened demon outpost.

Lin Xingya, recognizing the significance of minimizing casualties among the human cultivators, had assigned one of her personal maids, a Divine Spirit Realm expert, to accompany the team of Divine Convergence Realm experts leading the assault.

As the spy reluctantly ventured forth to execute Wang Jianʼs plan, he observed from the sidelines, contemplating the intricate web of schemes he had woven. The success of his maneuver relied not only on the spyʼs actions but also on the subsequent response of the Forbidden Demon Clan.

Wang Jianʼs mind calculated the potential outcomes, weighing the risks and rewards of his actions.

A couple of days passed by and just as Wang Jian had planned, the entire team of human cultivators that attacked the demon outpost on the outskirts was completely and easily defeated.

The news of the defeat and capture of the team sent shockwaves through the Southern Settlement, where all the human cultivators resided. The atmosphere was tense, and an air of uncertainty lingered as the cultivators gathered in small groups to discuss the unexpected turn of events.

In one corner of the settlement, a group of Divine Origin Realm cultivators exchanged worried glances and hushed whispers.

”This is disastrous! How could the demons overpower a team led by Divine Spirit Realm experts?”

”Itʼs unprecedented. I never thought the Forbidden Demon Clan could be so cunning and strategic.”

”The captives include Divine Spirit Realm experts; this could be a severe blow to our forces. We need to reassess our strategies and tactics.”

As the Divine Origin Realm cultivators fretted over the implications of the defeat, those at the Divine Convergence Realm also engaged in anxious conversations.

”We need to be cautious. The demons seem more formidable than we anticipated.”

”Someone needs to take charge and devise a plan to rescue our captured comrades.”

Amid the worried discussions, Lin Xingya received the distressing news about the defeat of the team and the capture of her personal maid. Her face turned pale as she absorbed the information, the weight of regret settling on her shoulders.

In a secluded space within their residence, Lin Xingya gathered with her two remaining personal maids, her eyes reflecting a mix of sorrow and guilt. The two maids, sensing their mistressʼs anguish, tried their best to provide comfort.

”Itʼs not your fault, Lady Lin. No one could have predicted such a dire outcome,” one of the maids reassured, her voice gentle yet firm.

Lin Xingya, however, couldnʼt shake off the burden of responsibility. ”I should have gone with them. If I had been there, maybe we could have avoided this tragedy.”

The other maid chimed in, ”You canʼt blame yourself, Lady Lin. The demons caught us off guard. We need to focus on finding a solution now.”

Lin Xingya, still grappling with her emotions, acknowledged the truth in their words but couldnʼt fully absolve herself of the guilt. ”We need to rescue them. I wonʼt rest until we bring our comrades back safely.”

The remaining two personal maids nodded in agreement, their loyalty unwavering. Lin Xingya, determined to rectify the situation, began contemplating the next course of action.
