Stronger by Paying Salaries and I Have 1 Billion Employees

Redwood Capital was unable to provide DJI with additional sales support, so Wang Tao ruled them out.

Under Old Gao’s leadership, Senlian Capital successfully secured DJI’s Series A funding round for 15 million US dollars, acquiring a 15% stake.

The future return on investment would be at least 200-fold!

”How are sales for the Phantom 1?” Chen Yansen asked casually.

”We’ve sold a total of 77,000 units, with 38.7 million US dollars in revenue. It’s all thanks to President Mao for his help promoting the Phantom 1 and cultivating users with videos on Mimo.”

Wang Tao was very enthusiastic when dealing with an investor like Senlian Capital.

He knew full well that with DJI’s current channel development capabilities, breaking into the European and American markets would be extremely difficult. With Senlian Capital’s help, however, the Phantom 1 could even be sold easily in the Eastern European market.

”So, only half a million units a year? Don’t be disheartened. I’ve seen DJI’s rotor chip technology and flight control system. The potential is there,” Chen Yansen said, patting Wang Tao on the shoulder reassuringly.

Wang Tao froze. A flash of embarrassment crossed his face. He really wanted to say, ’President Chen, I’m actually quite satisfied with forty to fifty thousand units a month.’

But he thought better of it and held his tongue.

’I can’t say that. It would make me sound like I have no ambition!’

”Thank you for your concern, President Chen. I will continue to work hard,” Wang Tao declared at once, his eyes shining.

”Keep it up.” Chen Yansen’s encouragement was perfunctory, but it was enough to make Wang Tao’s blood boil with motivation.

Despite the age gap of over ten years, Wang Tao acted more like a junior, his eyes filled with admiration for Chen Yansen.

”President Chen, I’ll head back to my seat then. I won’t disturb you any further.” Beaming like a child who had just been praised by his parents, Wang Tao took his leave and returned to his seat in the sixth row.

Chen Yansen watched him go, not giving it much thought.

DJI might be a powerhouse in the future with a valuation of over a hundred billion, but right now, it was still small fry.

A company that hadn’t yet unleashed its commercial potential couldn’t be called an industry leader.

For Senlian Capital, investing in DJI was just an opportune side-project.

Turning down free money is just asking for divine retribution!

At nine o’clock sharp, several local bigwigs from Shencheng City took the stage one by one to give speeches, and President Chen found himself getting drowsy.

Chen Yansen preferred listening to concrete numbers, measurable metrics, and the soft moans of a beautiful woman—not long-winded speeches filled with empty platitudes.

’Zhang Chaoyang and Zhou Hongyi aren’t here. Otherwise, I would’ve been asleep already.’

President Chen grumbled to himself.

Just as he was mulling over the construction progress of the Xucheng data center, the bigwigs from the Central Bureau and the event organizers had already left the stage.

He heard Ma Liyun speaking eloquently on stage. ”Ten years ago, Penguin, Qian Du, and Ah Li were all small. When we offered free services, people said we were asking for a death wish. Today, if you try to offer free services, Penguin, Qian Du, and Ah Li will grant you that death wish.”

The subtext was clear: the market landscape dominated by the three giants was now set in stone, and it was nearly impossible for an ordinary person to break through the competitive barriers they had erected.

’Whoever dares to touch my slice of the pie, I’ll make sure they end up dead!’

The first ones on the bus always weld the door shut behind them. Standard procedure.

”Mr. Ma, in that case, how did Senlian Capital, the ’S’ in ’BATS,’ manage to rise?” the host asked with a grin.

Lao Ma’s expression froze. He cursed internally, ’Are you trying to stir up trouble on purpose?’

The host turned to Li Yanhong. ”President Li, do you agree with Mr. Ma’s statement?”

Li Yanhong was in a bind; he couldn’t nod, but he couldn’t shake his head either. All he could do was maintain his smile.

”Let’s give a warm round of applause and welcome President Li and President Chen to the stage to share their insights on the latest trends and developments in the internet industry!” the host continued.

’What the hell? Was this part of the program?’

Ma Wenteng was taken aback.

Chen Yansen, who had been multitasking, heard the host’s invitation and strode confidently onto the stage.

’Would the host dare to make a decision like this on his own?’

’Most likely, it was the organizers’ idea.’

This so-called ”sharing entrepreneurial experience” was, to put it bluntly, just a chance to flex—something President Chen excelled at.

’Since he’d come all the way to Shencheng City, what was the point if he just sat in the audience and watched others flex? That would be a complete waste of a trip.’

’Buzz, hype, and traffic—who could ever have too much of that?’

Chen Yansen took the wireless microphone and sat down to Little Ma’s left.

Li Yanhong quickly recovered and jogged up onto the stage.

The four giants, all gathered together!
