Stronger by Paying Salaries and I Have 1 Billion Employees

”Boss, this is the pre-launch warm-up and promotion plan for Yu’e Bao, along with the marketing strategy for launch day. I’ve already coordinated with Mr. Huang from Pinbei, President Liang from Today Technology, and President Zhang from Byte Technology. When the time comes, we’ll launch a cross-platform, network-wide campaign to ensure the product gets plenty of exposure.”

Zhang Yinjia set down a paper document and began to explain.

”The launch is set for October 11th, exactly one month before Singles’ Day. This will encourage users to transfer their idle funds into Yu’e Bao to earn interest, creating a closed loop of consumption and financial management.”

Chen Yansen took the proposal and flipped through it quickly, grasping all the information in no time.

Starting October 8th, Orange Pay would begin sending event notifications to users. These would take the form of a feature page detailing Yu’e Bao’s financial management functions, emphasizing its low barrier to entry and flexibility: invest from as little as one yuan, and deposit or withdraw anytime.

Both Toutiao and Lingxi Browser would feature ad placements for Orange Pay and Yu’e Bao in prominent spots on their homepages, generating over 20 million daily impressions.

The primary goal wasn’t the app’s download conversion rate, but rather to cultivate more potential users in preparation for the Yu’e Bao product launch.

Social media platforms like Weibo and various forums were also important promotional channels.

The staff at Orange Pay’s Market Department had also invited a group of finance bloggers and major internet personalities. As soon as Yu’e Bao went live, they would immediately share their positive user experiences to build good word-of-mouth for the product.

In addition, advertisements would run simultaneously on subways and buses in cities like Yanjing, Hu City, and Jinling, reinforcing the concept that ”Yu’e Bao is an upgraded checking account.”

Back in 2012, the benchmark interest rate for demand deposits was 0.35%, while the one-year time deposit rate was 3%.

Simply put, the returns on Yu’e Bao’s flexible-term funds were even higher than the interest rate for a one-year bank time deposit.

Moreover, the T+0 redemption mechanism, which meant users could withdraw their funds at any time, greatly enhanced their trust in the product.

”Okay, Boss. No problem,” Zhang Yinjia nodded.

With that, he and Zhou Mingxuan left.

Chen Yansen opened his computer and logged into the data backend. As usual, he reviewed the business and financial data of each subsidiary. After confirming everything was in order, he opened his email to continue handling tasks like procurement, patent licensing, and marketing expense requests.

His physique score of over 30 had once again reduced the amount of sleep he needed. Now, he would automatically wake up after less than three hours of sleep each day.

Song Yuncheng, exhausted after a full day of flying, had returned to her dorm room and immediately collapsed into bed.

He, however, felt no fatigue at all. His energy and stamina remained exceptionally high!

The sky outside was dim. A crescent moon rose above the shadowy branches, hanging in the air.

Chen Yansen glanced at his wrist. A quarter past six. The autumn air was growing colder, and the streetlights in the Science and Technology Park had already come on, just after six o’clock.

The Rolex Explorer that used to be on his wrist had now been replaced by a Patek Philippe Calatrava mechanical watch.

It was a gift from Song Yuncheng, who had spent two months’ worth of her salary and overtime pay to buy it for him in Switzerland.

’This idiot!’

Chen Yansen swore under his breath, gazing at the watch.

’Although he was reluctant to admit it, he knew deep down that Song Yuncheng was different from those girls who were ”all about the money, not the romance.” She knew he had a girlfriend, yet she still threw herself at him without a second thought.’

For a moment, President Chen’s heart couldn’t help but feel a flicker of warmth.

With a faint smile, Chen Yansen closed his laptop and got up to leave.

A minute later, he ran into Old Gao in the first-floor lobby, who was just on his way in.

”Boss, you’re back from your vacation... er, business trip?” Gao Weilin asked instinctively, quickly correcting himself.

”I sent the letter of intent for the Spotify investment to your email. You’re in charge of the follow-up. The preliminary valuation discussed is 2.8 billion US dollars. If Spotify’s data hasn’t been doctored, go with that price.”

Chen Yansen paused and instructed Gao Weilin.

”Understood,” Gao Weilin responded immediately.

He had already learned about the Spotify investment two days prior and had started compiling a detailed file on the company. The file included its historical funding amounts, post-money valuations, and the daily active and paid user data for each financing round.

”Oh, one more thing. Buy me two... no, three detached villas in Luzhou. They don’t need to be too large—five hundred square meters is enough. Make sure each house is at least five kilometers away from the others.”

Chen Yansen instructed.

’Three villas?’

Gao Weilin froze for a second. ’Besides Meng Jie and Song Yuncheng, who’s the third one?’ he wondered.

”Understood.” Though he was curious, Gao Weilin knew there were things one shouldn’t ask and shouldn’t say.

After he finished speaking, Chen Yansen walked out of the office building, got into the driver’s seat of his Bentley, turned the car around, and began driving slowly toward Xuyuan.

The current class of freshmen had just finished their military training. After a month, most of them had adapted to the learning and living environment at Xuyuan.

Groups of young people milled in and out of the restaurants across from the East Gate of Xuyuan, heading to hometown gatherings, student council mixers, or club dinners.

Chen Yansen glanced at the scene through his car window and sighed. ’Even though I’ve been reborn at twenty, I’ve lost that youthful spirit.’

’For him, the main point of attending university was to give Lao Chen and his mom some peace of mind, and perhaps relive his college days on the side.’

With that thought, he passed by the Xueyuan Supermarket, picked up a pack of beer and a bag of marinated snacks, and ambled his way into Room 8302.
