Stronger by Paying Salaries and I Have 1 Billion Employees

Xucheng. Zhuxianzhuang Science and Technology Park, Building Seven.

”As of September 28th, Orange Pay has accumulated 140 million registered users, with 17.2 million daily active users. The average daily transaction volume is 940 million yuan. The number of applications for merchant QR codes has reached 73,000. The growth in transaction volume is primarily driven by Pinbei Mall, Fast Taxi, Cloud Speed Express, and Orange Mall...”

Zhang Yinjia spoke slowly in a conference room by the window.

”Continue.”

Chen Yansen said with a placid expression, giving a slight wave of his hand.

”On September 21st, the payment failure rate in the East China Region rose by 2.9 percent. An investigation revealed it was caused by a local network failure, which led to a regional increase in server load. This, in turn, caused payment requests to be queued, lowering the success rate.

To address this, the technology department’s preventative measure is to implement an asynchronous retry mechanism. If a payment request temporarily fails due to network issues, the system will automatically attempt to resubmit it, thereby improving the payment success rate.”

Jiang Leiming from the technology department was the second to report. After outlining the development plan for October, he took the initiative to bring up the system failure from a week ago and proposed a viable solution.

”Take that line of thinking a step further. QR code payments will run into similar issues, so we need to introduce an offline payment feature to guarantee a good user experience.”

Chen Yansen nodded slightly, adding a reminder.

”Offline payment? When there’s no internet...” Jiang Leiming looked confused, not immediately grasping his boss’s technical strategy.

”When a user is online and opens the Orange Pay payment code page, the app will pre-generate multiple dynamic payment codes, encrypt them, and store them in the local cache. When there’s no network or the signal is weak, it can simply call up an unused code, allowing the user to complete the payment.”

Chen Yansen explained in a calm, unhurried manner.

’Given Jiang Leiming’s abilities, he could probably figure out a solution himself if he mulled it over for a couple of days, but Chen Yansen saw no reason to waste time.’

’He might as well just give him the general idea and let Jiang Leiming handle the execution.’

”Right, Boss. I know what to do now.” Jiang Leiming’s eyes lit up as he replied quickly.

’Sure, having a boss who understood technology meant they couldn’t slack off, but with a programming guru like Chen Yansen, even his occasional insights on fault-tolerant system design could save the tech department months of going down the wrong path.’

’No wonder Daniel Povey from the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory was always running to the boss’s office. Ostensibly, he was an employee, but in reality, he was there to learn.’

’A month ago, a clip of Daniel calling Chen Yansen his ”godfather” at a press conference had even gone viral for a time.’

’But no one actually believed in Chen Yansen’s technical prowess. They all just assumed Daniel, the savvy foreigner, was shamelessly sucking up to the boss by helping him cultivate the persona of an ’R&D genius.’’

”Lao Zhou, what’s the progress on the Yu’e Bao project?”

Chen Yansen asked, looking at Zhou Mingxuan.

”We’ve confirmed the partnership model, business rules, and technical integration plan with Sky Rich Fund. The only thing not yet finalized is the revenue sharing agreement. I met with President Jiang yesterday, and we expect to go live after the National Day holiday.”

Zhou Mingxuan answered immediately.

”The user-facing interface, the back-end fund management system, and the transaction interface with the fund company are all complete,” Jiang Leiming added.

”Have the operations team draft an SOP and start training the customer service staff. They need to quickly master Yu’e Bao’s product features, business processes, and key service points. Also, the Market Department’s promotional campaigns need to run concurrently.”

Chen Yansen agreed without raising any objections, simply adding a couple of reminders about the pre-launch preparations.

Zhang Yinjia, Zhou Mingxuan, and Jiang Leiming immediately nodded, quickly jotting down everything their boss said.

”That’s all for today. Happy holidays,” Chen Yansen said with a faint smile as he stood up.

”Thank you, Boss,” Zhang Yinjia and the others replied with smiles.

In 2012, the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays were combined, resulting in an eight-day break after work schedule adjustments.

Since the banks would be closed the next day, the third-quarter performance bonuses, along with September’s salaries and overtime pay, had already been deposited two hours prior.

At that moment, every employee from Orange Technology, Orange Pay, Pinbei Mall, and Today Technology had a smile on their face.

Clearly, the third-quarter bonuses were quite generous!

Back in his office, Chen Yansen sat on the sofa and summoned his system panel.

Cloud Speed, Kuai Pao, and the Orange Phone Factory had become his most important sources of Human Dao Fire, while Pinbei, Orange Technology, and Gaode Map also generated a substantial amount each month.

He had gained 210,149 wisps of Human Dao Fire in September, enough to synthesize 2,101 wisps of Divine Dao Fire. Now that his concerns about his weight were resolved, Chen Yansen decided he would first strengthen his physique to 100.

’Synthesize! Allocate points!’

With a single thought, a wrist-thick stream of golden mist materialized from thin air, radiating a terrifying, intimidating energy.

’Wait!’

’That seems a little thick!’

Chen Yansen had barely finished the thought when, in the next second, the vast, potent mist shot into the space between his eyebrows.

Tiny specks of golden light followed his bloodstream, instantly flowing to every corner of his body. His muscles, bones, and flesh greedily absorbed the golden energy, their density, hardness, and strength all subtly increasing.

After just a few moments, everything returned to normal.

His Physique attribute had risen from 10.15 to 31.16!

The enhancement was comprehensive, strengthening him from the inside out. It affected his strength, agility, endurance, sight, smell, hearing, and even his control over all these abilities.

He wouldn’t accidentally crush a cup or crack the floor just because his strength had suddenly surged.

Chen Yansen let out a long sigh of relief and lifted his shirt to take a look. His muscle mass had increased, becoming well-defined and clearly outlined, though it was completely unnoticeable under his shirt.
