Stronger by Paying Salaries and I Have 1 Billion Employees

Early the next morning, a chilly autumn wind blew.

Withered yellow sycamore leaves, beaded with mist, swayed in the wind before drifting onto the bedroom windowpane.

The soft rustling woke Chen Yansen. He slowly opened his eyes to see Song Yuncheng, her hair a mess, still sprawled atop him, fast asleep.

The sky was still dark. Chen Yansen glanced at the wall clock—4:15 AM. Sunrise was still more than three hours away.

He gently shifted Song Yuncheng off him, picked up the shorts and shirt from the bedside, casually threw them on, and walked out to the living room.

He sat on the sofa. To his right was a stack of new books, and he casually picked one up to read.

He didn’t look up until sunlight filtered through the sheer curtains, and he realized day had broken.

He put down the book, opened his computer, and logged into Pinbei’s data backend.

Real-time new customer growth for the day: 1.3 million!

Total orders: 637,000!

Chen Yansen filtered the options to check the data on individual products. The top seller was still the Orange Mobile Phone. In second place was the Jiuyang mini rice cooker, with 59,000 units sold for a total revenue of nearly 6 million yuan. Third was the 129-yuan Mercury four-piece home textile set, which had sold over 30,000 units.

In fourth place were Xiyue navel oranges. In just over seven hours, another 141,000 orders had been placed—an even faster sales pace than yesterday.

Clearly, the group-buying model was demonstrating an astonishing viral effect.

”Morning, Master!”

Just then, a sleepy-eyed Song Yuncheng emerged from the bedroom and greeted him reflexively.

”What did you call me?” Chen Yansen froze for a second, then asked with a smile.

”Aren’t you my master?” Song Yuncheng chirped, running over and crouching in front of Chen Yansen, retorting with a playful squint.

”A teacher for a day is a father for life. Why don’t you call me Daddy and let me hear it?”

Chen Yansen leaned forward and lifted the crouching Song Yuncheng into his arms.

”I will not,” Song Yuncheng refused, turning her head and biting her lip.

”If you call me Daddy, I’ll call you Mommy,” Chen Yansen whispered, leaning in to coax her.

”Really? You can’t go back on your word!” Song Yuncheng was tempted.

After a moment of hesitation, she lowered her head, leaned into Chen Yansen’s arms, and whispered, ”Daddy.”

Chen Yansen nodded, satisfied. ”Daddy will brush your teeth for you.”

With that, he carried Song Yuncheng into the bathroom.

Before the door closed, Song Yuncheng’s furious roar could be heard, ”Chen Yansen, you went back on your word!”

Chen Yansen just smiled. ’My word? What’s that?’

By the time the two of them were ready, it was already 10:30 AM. Song Yuncheng rolled her eyes and shot Chen Yansen a fierce glare.

”I’m never falling for that again!”

Song Yuncheng silently swore to herself, ’This man is an absolute beast, full of lies, with no integrity to speak of.’

”It’s all your fault we’re late today,” Song Yuncheng complained to Chen Yansen, turning after putting on her shoes and lip gloss.

”I arranged with admin last night to change today’s clock-in time to 11 AM. Didn’t you know?”

Chen Yansen retorted with a smile, raising an eyebrow.

The Pinbei employees had worked overtime until midnight, so naturally, their start time couldn’t be the usual 9 AM.

Even though there was overtime pay, people needed proper rest to have enough energy for the next day’s work.

Hearing this, Song Yuncheng remembered that she hadn’t looked at her phone since returning to 0418 last night, so it was normal that she missed the notification.

”I’ll head to the office first, then,” Song Yuncheng said, intending to arrive separately from Chen Yansen.

”Have breakfast with me. I’ll give you a ride after,” Chen Yansen suggested.

”No, thanks. I’ll take the company shuttle,” Song Yuncheng quickly refused, grabbing her bag and rushing downstairs.

Chen Yansen smiled slightly, shook his head, and walked unhurriedly toward the cafeteria.

「Meanwhile.」

At Meiters Headquarters in Hu City, Min Jie had just arrived at the office when the head of the operations department rushed over to greet him.

”Old Wang, how are sales today?”

Min Jie asked casually.

He was referring to Meiters’s performance on Pinbei. Yesterday alone, they had sold 41,000 orders for a total of 1.62 million yuan in sales.

It might not seem to compare to their previous numbers on FoxTao, but these were two completely different business models.

FoxTao’s average commission rate was between 65% and 70%. For 10 million in sales, after deducting rebates, a company would only pocket 3 to 3.5 million.

Besides, he was already quite satisfied that Pinbei could move 40,000 units on its very first day of launch.

In Min Jie’s eyes, Chen Yansen was an absolute godsend for Meiters, and his own personal benefactor.

If FoxTao and Pinbei hadn’t successively opened up external sales channels for Meiters, his position as the general manager of Banggou would be on very shaky ground.

The T-shirts, sweatshirts, and casual pants from 2007 to 2009 that had been piling up in the warehouse could finally be cleared out.

”From midnight to 11 AM, we’ve had 73,000 orders! The inventory for about 125 product links has completely sold out. President Song from Pinbei is urging me to submit new products, and I just finished selecting them.”

The operations head reported hurriedly.

”Email them to me, and I’ll review them right away,” Min Jie replied, quickening his pace toward his desk.

At that moment in the Meiters warehouse, in addition to its own employees, three couriers in Clound Speed uniforms were deftly and busily working, holding tape and packing bags.

One hundred thousand orders in two days!

The warehouse staff was swamped.

The courier in charge of pickups at Meiters Headquarters, seeing the urgency, also started pitching in to pack.

After working nonstop for over two hours, the three couriers finally plopped onto the floor, panting. ”Tell your boss to hire more people, now! There’s no way we can handle this with just the hands we’ve got!”

”Brother Bin, we’re going to make a killing on commission this month, right?”

one of the couriers asked, his face full of anticipation as he looked at the long-haired young man beside him.

”When we get paid, I’m treating you two to foot massages,” Gu Wenbin said with a wide grin, draping his arm over his colleague’s shoulder.
