Reincarnated With A Glitched System: Why Is My MP Not Running Out?

The caverns were very damp, so Pyuku was able to come out without problems. The entire atmosphere was ideal for slimes like him, so he felt right at home!

“Phew, this place sure is comfy!” he said. “And there’s so many bright crystals… You don’t mind if I eat some, Aquarina?”

“Have your way,” Aquarina nodded. “Anyways, Khepri, so where should we go? We just arrived here but there’s four paths already… Which one is the correct path?”

“Hmm…” Khepri was looking at the radar. “I… I think it’s in between the first two.”

“Wait you can’t tell which one is the correct one?” asked Aquarina. “Just how?”

“It’s not like the caves have been mapped in the radar! Look, I can only see my ornament as a dot in the middle of nothing. So I have to make guesses.” Khepri showed Aquarina what she was seeing. “See?”

“Oh, so that’s how it works…” Aquarina nodded. “Alright, let’s take the first path, if that one isn’t it, let’s take the second one. Let’s hurry.”

The group quickly began marching after Aquarina’s commands. Despite how she often acted, she was surprisingly good at leading and taking quick decisions, her strength and charisma were the real deal too, making the others easily follow her words.

“Pyuku! Hurry up, or we’re leaving you behind!”

“A-Ah, right!”

Pyuku found great joy in eating magic and spirit crystals from time to time, as they strengthened his magic power and made him a bit stronger.

However, he had eaten enough and felt slightly bloated, so he quickly decided to drop it and follow Aquarina’s party.

The group walked across the large caverns and their long corridors, decorated with beautiful mushrooms and crystals, it looked like a place right out of a fairy tale.

However, it was weird how there wasn’t any monster or animal around, with so much rich crystals and mana everywhere, and even mushrooms, beasts were bound to appear and populate the area.

But the entire area was… very silent, oddly calming too, and it held a strangely soothing, dreamy atmosphere.

Aquarina thought the mushrooms were weird too.

“Have we ever seen transparent mushrooms like these before?” she wondered, glancing at them.

“I haven’t…” said Silvia. “Usually they’re thick and colorful, but these guys are flabby and very slimy!”

“Maybe they’re just a new kind of mushrooms we haven’t discovered before,” said Justicio. “But still, hm, the damp atmosphere has gotten thicker, there’s even some mist now.”

“Yeah, I noticed too…” Aquarina nodded.

“Let me see them up close!” Silvia licked her lips. “Maybe they’re actually a super new tasty mushroom we could roast for lunch?”

“Ah, hey, maybe they’re poisonous!” said Justicio, following her.

“Even if they are we are pretty resistant to poisons anyways, I think we’ll be fine~” Silvia kneeled in front of a large colony of these mushrooms, as they connected together, they covered the ground with a slimy mold-like blue and white substance.

As she saw Silvia walking towards one to grab it and see if it was poisonous, Aquarina used her System to see their description and information.

[Strange Slimy Translucent Mushroom-like Larvae (? Grade)]

A strange mushroom-like creature that isn’t a mushroom, their bodies are translucent and slimy, and they seem to be mostly composed of water.

However, their analyzed biology greatly differs from the majority of living organisms related to fungi. A better analysis is required to give more details.

It was very vague, but Aquarina quickly realized these things weren’t mushroom!

“Ah!”

Aquarina panicked.

If these things were a new type of monster and they were actually some kind of larvae, then it was better to not even touch them to begin with!

“Silvia, don’t touch them!”

As Aquarina screamed, Silvia was already touching a large one with a gigantic cap, only for the girl to notice something weird.

“Huh?”

Several tiny tentacles protruding out of the mushroom grasped her hand tightly, with even sharper needles trying to pierce her very hard skin.

“Ouch! Uwaagh!”

“Silvia!”

Justicio barely managed to save Silvia from having her hands gored, as he dragged her back, the tentacles were unable to pierce through her skin in time.

“Haahh.. Ouch, that hurt! But it barely didn’t pierce my skin, it was about to! They’re surprisingly strong…” Silvia sighed in relief. “W-What the hell? Those things aren’t normal mushrooms!”

“I told you they weren’t!” Aquarina caught up to them. “Don’t touch weird things! That’s like, one of the most basic rules of survival!”

It was a bit hypocritical coming from Aquarina, but her friends couldn’t deny she wasn’t wrong.

“I guess you’re right… Ouch, ouch…” Silvia sighed. “It feels like there’s some needles still stuck there.”

“Khepri, can you heal her?” wondered Aquarina.

“Okay, let me do it!” nodded Khepri.

“Let me see if I can take them out for you!” Pyuku said. “Maybe I could eat-“

“Geogeogeogeoohh…”

However, as the group talked and panicked a bit after Silvia still felt the needles stuck in her hand, suddenly, a weird and strange voice echoed behind them.

The trio slowly turned their faces behind, noticing the mushroom that was touched by Silvia beginning to release a strange sound.

Its entire body started convulsing and shaking, and the rest of the mushrooms around them were also moving around.

Tentacles sprouted from their bodies, as they began moving in unison like a colony.

“W-what the hell, they’re monsters!” Silvia cried.

“We have to kill them, quickly!” said Justicio.

“Wait, what’s going on with that one?!” Aquarina wondered, noticing the one that Silvia had touched beginning to change a lot.

Its entire body was growing larger and larger, taking a humanoid form, and becoming something similar to Silvia herself!

“W-Wha…?! Is this some kind of joke?!”

Silvia screamed, panicking as she saw a complete copy of herself made of the slimy, translucent body of these mushrooms.

“Ah…”

And it spoke.

“Aeh… F-Food… Hung… hunger…”

And it was so damn creepy!

“Hyeeeh! No way! I don’t want to be replaced by that monster! Die!”

Silvia panicked, manifesting her Soul Weapon and swinging it down, crushing the little ones into a slimy paste!

CRAAASH!

“Ah… Ooh… Pain…”

The copy of herself, however, remained intact, its body releasing a strong aura, as its translucent, blue eyes… became red.

“Dan… ger… kill.”

And then she rushed forward, summoning a Soul Weapon like Silvia, and swinging it against her.

“Eh?!”

BAAAM!
