Reincarnated With A Glitched System: Why Is My MP Not Running Out?

Chapter 1783: Descending Into The Ant Colony’s Depths

-----

The reason Tethys, the Great Oasis Spirit, had appeared was not just because Agua prayed to her but also because Khepri had called her through a Spirit Call, a powerful spell spirits used to communicate with one another across long distances.

The conversation she had with her last night likely helped Tethys gain some confidence or perhaps a newfound resolve, allowing her to step out of her comfort zone to protect the Oasis and the people she protected.

However, her power could only manifest temporarily through Agua’s ”Great Spirit Descent” Ability as her Priestess, so she quickly disappeared after helping them conjure such a game-changing spell as that one.

Now, the entire nest of the ants, a gigantic blazing labyrinth with several layers going underground, was flooded, frozen, and left on the verge of collapse.

Ninety percent of all ants likely died or were so weakened they probably couldn’t even move properly now.

The Great Spirit stepping into the battle helped everyone turn things smoother, as a chaotic battle against hundreds of thousands of giant blazing ants was never going to end nicely.

This was especially true when Nepheline and Shade knew this was likely a tactic to weaken and exhaust them before fighting their real boss or the generals this boss was commanding.

”So the Great Oasis Spirit has a name?!” Justicio asked in surprise as he heard Aquarina and Agua talking with Nepheline. ”I had no idea... I mean, it was obvious, I guess? But everyone just called her Great Oasis Spirit or Mother of the Oasis or whatever...”

”Yes, of course she has a name, Justicio...” Agua said. ”But we... well, we didn’t know about that name either. However, it seems Khepri never lied about sharing a past with her. She knew her real name, and her cry was what likely brought her here, aside from my prayers.”

”Now that’s interesting!” Silvia nodded. ”I wonder if the Great Spirit of the Cliff Winds also had a true name? And what about the one we’re about to confront?”

”Well, yes, they do have names...” Khepri nodded. ”I remember them... The green bird was named Eurus, and the... the fire one, I... I think she was named Fornax. I think her appearance was already bug-like before.”

”Hmmm...” Aquarina nodded. ”Well, I guess things ended nicely, mom.”

”Yes, dear, I am quite proud of you today! You’ve been doing amazingly,” Nepheline said, patting her daughter’s head. ”Alright then, we should get going! No time to waste. Let’s go down! The fall shouldn’t be anything you can’t resist, right?”

”Yeah, I guess so. After falling so much, our bones are harder than mithril...” sighed Justicio, looking down. ”Ugh, though I still can’t get over the vertigo.”

”Come on, let’s go!” Silvia said, slapping Justicio’s head and jumping down with him.

”Did you had to do that?!”

As the two fell down screaming, Nepheline and Shade jumped down to catch up with the children. Aquarina looked down, noticing the volcanic labyrinth was now a deep, wet, frozen cave, making her feel completely in her element, stronger.

”Alright, Agua, let’s go,” Aquarina said, quickly walking toward Agua, grabbing her, and carrying her like a princess in her arms.

”E-Eh?!” Agua blushed, feeling embarrassed. ”Aquarina?! What are you...?”

”Hm? I have to carry you like this so you won’t fall and die, right? Come on!” Aquarina smiled, jumping down.

”Uwaaaahaaahhhh?!” Agua screamed in horror as she fell with her friend.

With all six of them descending rapidly through the labyrinth by jumping down the massive precipice at its center, which spiraled with many caves and entrances, mostly all frozen already, the powers beneath began to grow furious.

The monstrous being commanding all ants realized what had happened just a few seconds ago. Her Domain was so strong she didn’t even feel the water or the cold until now.

”WHAT IS THIS?! MY ARMY...! FROZEN AND DROWNED?! HOW...! HOW DARE THEY?!”

Her furious roars echoed, spreading spiritual flames everywhere. The corpses of her children became countless souls she began to absorb, refining them into her growing Divinity. And yet.

”NO... NO, NO! THIS ISN’T WHAT I WANTED! YOU...! ALL OF YOU USELESS CHILDREN MUST SERVE ME EVEN AFTER DEATH!”

Her voice, like divine authority, commanded hundreds of thousands of giant blazing ant souls, fusing them together while turning them into phantasmal spiritual beings.

FLUOOOSH!

”Perhaps my quantity-over-quality approach was wrong! All five of you, my strongest children, go and utterly destroy them! You can fuel your power as much as you wish with your fallen siblings! I’ll allow it!”

The hundreds of thousands of souls moved everywhere, fueling the blazing power of their five strongest siblings, who began growing even stronger through their mother’s horrible magic.

As this happened, not only did she make them stronger while panicking about the strength of those coming after her, but she also continued building new soldiers.

”Don’t think that just because you killed them, you’ll have things easy! I am much stronger than you imagine!”

Thousands of souls merged into gigantic, spiritual, and phantasmal abominations, roaring with countless heads, jaws, antennae, eyes, and legs.

”GRYYYAAARRRGGH!”

Meanwhile, within a dense cave full of emerald-like crystals, a powerful blow sent a gigantic green-scaled and feathered serpent crashing into the ground, shattering these crystals as a few impaled its body.

”Gryyyaaarrrgghh...!”

Letting out an agonizing cry, the Tier 8 Giant Feathered Storm Serpent perished. A winged bird Anima, flew above him, staring at the creature with a serious expression.

”We’re done...”

He quickly descended to a golden cube behind the snake, touching it to reveal its true form as it rapidly compacted into a second mechanical wing of green, gold, and silver metal.

The wing quickly fused into his body and soul, encompassing another of his wings, giving him even more strength.

”With this, we only need two more, Quetzal!” a little jellyfish-like spirit cheered by his side.

”Yeah, Agua, let’s hurry,” Quetzal nodded, flying away.
