Chapter 523: Do you think any of them will come?

The sun had long since disappeared below the horizon, and the capital was immersed in the evening atmosphere. After the end of the working day, the nightlife of the city began.

A portal opened in a dark alley, and a group of people came out. Without saying a word, they just exchanged glances and split into three groups, heading in different directions.

In the first group were Irene, Arslan, and Bera, who now looked like Elsa.

The second group included Yulaya, Hazel and Esma.

The third group consisted only of Idan and Arabel. They climbed onto the roof of one of the houses and fixed their gaze in the direction of the Awakened Association.

They both wore their Guild uniforms, but in a completely different look. Both wore hooded cloaks and a white mask with a wide smile, their favorite Ghost mask. In this image, they did not invent new personalities or even names for themselves. Instead, the couple decided to create a crazy and mysterious image.

The color of Idan’s uniform was purple, while Arabel’s was dark pink.

”What do you think of what Irene and the others said?” Arabel asked Idan, standing on the roof of the house.

”You mean about the Eye of the Web?” asked Idan, and Arabel nodded.

”Well, as long as he doesn’t get in our way and try to interfere in our business, we won’t do anything and leave him alone,” Idan replied.

”All right,” Arabel agreed.

Unlike Irene and the others, she was still bothered by this mysterious Awakened One.

During the discussion of the action plan, when it came to how to deal with the Eye of the Web, Irene admitted that they, as Heroes of the Federation, could not do anything against him, since they had concluded a contract with him.

According to the terms of the contract, the Heroes should not try to find out his identity and not take any action against him personally. In response, the Eye of the Web will not interfere in the affairs of the Heroes, will not share information that it finds out about them to others, and will not take any orders from other people if they relate to the Heroes.

In addition, ”Heroes” and ”Eye of the Web” have agreed to provide services to each other for a fee.

After reading the memoirs of the four remaining men, Irene learned about several gathering points where there were shelters and places where the abducted girls were held.

Among all these shelters, there were two of the largest, which were targeted by two groups. Irene and Yulai decided to entrust the rest of the shelters to the members of their guilds.

Irene and her companions were in a hurry, realizing that if the Eye of the Net was involved in this matter, then those who were involved in this business could already find out about it and start destroying shelters in order to escape.

In this operation, the main task fell on the shoulders of two groups, with Idan and Arabel acting as insurance and those who could delay outside intervention.

In addition, there was one powerful fighter in each group — Esma and Bera.

No one but the strongest outsiders could stand up to these two, and their task was to protect the members of the groups and prevent serious accidents.

”I’m a little worried about Bera,” Arabel whispered.

She remembered Ned well, and if Bera had been anything like him, Arabel didn’t know what actions she might have taken.

”Ha ha ha, nothing’s going to happen to Bera, Belle,” — Idan replied. ”You gave her very good guidance and instructions on what to do. Although they are a little crazy, they are very obedient, and believe me, Bera will not break your word, even if her life is in danger.”

”It was my fault that I gave Ned too much freedom and let him do whatever he wanted,” Idan said with some sadness, but then quickly became inspired.

More recently, he learned that his First Star had fully recovered, which meant that the threat that a piece of Ned’s Soul would dissipate had disappeared. Now he needed to start feeding this piece with Soul crystals in order to bring his partner back to life.

”Do you think any of them will come?” said Arabel doubtfully.

”I hope so,” Idan replied with confidence. Unlike her, he was convinced that someone would definitely try to interfere with the actions of the two groups.

”I hope it will be one of the fireflies,” Idan added.

”Dan, don’t tell me you’re planning to capture one of them by taking advantage of this event?” Arabel stared at Idan intently, trying to figure out his intentions.

”Why not?” confirmed Idan. ”But I won’t attack them right away. I’ll warn them first, and if they don’t listen and decide to use force, then I’ll capture them.”

”Didn’t you want to help your older sister get one of them?” asked Idan.

”But I didn’t mean those who are hiding in our world, but from another one,” Arabel clarified.

”Okay, okay, I won’t act recklessly. I understand that kidnapping one of them will cause tension between our Guild and the Association. However, I do not rule out this possibility,” said Idan.

Arabel looked at Idan intently, and he felt a little uncomfortable under her attentive gaze.

Then she looked away and sighed.

”Okay, I’ll believe your words,” she said.

After a short silence between them, Idan smiled and asked:

”Are you already waiting for your new subordinates to arrive?”

”A little,” — Arabel admitted honestly. ”I want to find out who they are first, and then see how they prepare their dishes.”

”I also wonder how they do it,” Idan agreed, remembering Arabel’s request when it came to the restaurant.

Yes, the restaurant was indeed on their list of targets, but neither Idan, Arabel, nor the other two groups planned to act against it directly. Instead, they decided to entrust the matter to the members of the Queens Guild.

During the discussion of this decision, Arabel asked to catch the chefs from this restaurant and hand them over to her.

Arabel wanted to get to know them better first, to understand what they were capable of, and only then to decide whether to involve them in the implementation of her plan to develop the cuisine of the new world or not.

”They’ve started,” Arabel said after a while.

”Great, it’s time for us to act too,” Idan replied, and Arabel, taking the form of a Dark Valkyrie, hid them both, disappearing into the night city.
