Gu Xijiu saw Di Fuyi in the oasis. He was sitting beside a geyser as he waved at her while she was running toward him. She finally heaved a sigh of relief. “Here, drink it,” he said as he delivered some water to her.

He sighed as he watched her finish drinking the water. “Xijiu, it’s almost time for me to go. Could you please forget about me? This is would be best for you.”

Suddenly, her head went blank as if someone had struck her really hard. She quickly tugged his sleeve. “I thought you have three more months?” Why are you leaving all of a sudden?!

He remained silent as he glimpsed at her gently. She refused to let go of his sleeve. “Di Fuyi! This is not funny at all!”

He ran his fingers through her hair and sighed. “Xijiu, we are disobeying the heavenly laws and karma is about to come; hence, I’ve lost the three months of my lifespan as well…”

“Impossible!” Gu Xijiu’s voice sounded hoarse. “You… you still need to teach me all your skills. How could you die? You haven’t taught me anything…”

“Xijiu, someone from heaven will come and teach you. Take good care of yourself; my only regret is not being able to take care of you for the rest of your life…” His voice was getting softer as a seven-colored ray began to engulf his body. While she watched him slowly fade away in front of her own eyes.

“No!!!” She screamed and rushed forward. She wanted to hug him… However, he faded and finally disappeared from her embrace. She tried her best to make him stay, but she failed.

“Di Fuyi!!!” She screamed aloud with a lot of sweat covered on her forehead.

…

Gu Xijiu sat on the bed and idled for a short while. She was sitting on her own bed in the National Celestial Master’s mansion. All the furniture remained the same and even the Yulan flower in the vase was still fresh as though she had never left. It was a sunny day and the sunlight shone into her room. The clock in her room looked shiny under the sunlight.

Luo Zhanyu was anxiously looking at her from the opposite direction. “Xijiu, are you alright?”

Gu Xijiu was still unable to absorb everything that just happened; her heart was racing, and she was still a little slow-witted as she looked at Luo Zhanyu.

“Xijiu? Xijiu?” Luo Zhanyu waved at her.

Gu Xijiu finally shifted her gaze to him. “Why… Why are you here?”

Luo Zhanyu sighed. “Xijiu, you’ve been sleeping for more than 24 hours! I’m so worried!” She paused upon hearing what he said. Was that a dream? Was it a nightmare?

She calmed herself and looked around, only to find that she was in her own bedroom… How did she return home? She could not recollect how much of her past was now a dream. She was a little confused and seemed to have recalled something. “Where’s Di Fuyi?!” She asked Luo Zhanyu as she held his hand.

Luo Zhanyu rubbed his brows. “Xijiu, where have you been these days? You’ve gone missing for a month! Many people said you were with The Lord… However, I have never seen you. I wanted to find you, but The Lord was always in a hurry and always left before I arrived. He has been building credit temples for you. There were rumors saying The Lord intends to appoint you as his successor… Xijiu, I’m confused… Di Fuyi came yesterday when he sent you home. He said you were exhausted and you would probably sleep for two days and one night. After that, he just left…
