The Billionaire's Heir I Never Knew Was Mine

The moment Sienna stepped outside, she realized how much she already hated this police station. Even the smell of the place now made her uncomfortable.

Several officers glanced toward her as she walked past. Although their expressions were calmer than before, Sienna still lowered her gaze instinctively.

She just wanted to leave as quickly as possible.

The early morning air hit her face the moment they finally exited the building.

For the first time in hours, Sienna could breathe properly again after being trapped inside that interrogation room.

Then suddenly—

Sienna’s steps stopped completely.

Her eyes widened slightly in shock when she saw, right near the entrance, a familiar, luxurious black car parked.

She instantly thought of Zachary’s car.

’Could it be him? But, he is now abroad, right?’ She wonders. ”...it’s impossible for him to appear here.’

Her heart started to pound faster in her chest.

’It has to be him. He’s the only one who can do this miracle.’

Warm relief bloomed inside her chest.

Without realizing it, a smile slowly appeared across her tired face as she continued walking away from the police station building.

Now, everything has made sense.

Who else could arrange a lawyer in the middle of the night like it was no more troublesome than ordering room service? That level of absurd efficiency only matches Zachary Sterling’s approach to handling problems.

The thought alone made something inside her loosen.

But then—

Her steps gradually slowed.

’Girl, you need to remember Zach is Zachary Sterling. The powerful Zachary Sterling...’

The name no longer felt simple. He was not merely the kind, gentle man who somehow enjoyed invading her peace whenever possible.

He was Zachary Sterling. One of the people behind the Sterling Capital and the Sterling Group. A man from a world entirely different from hers.

And suddenly, her earlier relief became tangled together with confusion.

By the time her step finally stopped, she found herself staring at Logan as he stepped out of the car. Then, naturally, her gaze drifted toward the dark-tinted window.

She could picture Zachary sitting inside, with his legs crossed, holding an iPad on his lap, reading his business report. Her heart betrayed her, beating faster at the thought.

”Miss Sienna...”

Logan’s voice snapped her cleanly out of her imagination.

She blinked, returning to reality just in time to see him opening the rear passenger door politely.

”Thank you, Logan...” she said softly.

Gathering the last pieces of strength left inside her exhausted body, she stepped toward the vehicle.

But the moment she leaned in and looked inside, she saw the car was empty, Zachary wasn’t there.

Her movement paused slightly. A small wave of disappointment slipped into her chest before she could stop it.

At the same time, curiosity immediately rose inside her.

’How did Zach learn about my incident?’

Sienna quietly settled into the seat as Logan gently closed the door for her. The warmth inside the car immediately wrapped around her tired body.

After spending endless hours in a cold interrogation room, the simple comfort of soft seats and clean air felt almost unreal, as she hadn’t even imagined it a few hours ago.

She waited quietly for Logan to return to the driver’s seat. Countless questions already crowded in her mind.

But before she could ask any of them, Logan picked something up from the front seat and handed it toward her.

”Miss Sienna,” he said politely. ”This is your bag.”

Sienna blinked in surprise, then quickly accepted it and asked, ”My bag? Did you take it from the Imperial Hotel?”

Since the police captured her inside Benjamin’s office, she had completely forgotten about her bag. Forgotten about work. Forgotten about everything except surviving the night.

She no longer questioned how Logan entered Imperial to retrieve it because she already knew her boss’s true identity, Zachary Sterling.

Still...

Zachary’s genuine concern touched her more than she wanted to admit.

”Yes, Miss... I stopped by your office to pick it up for you.”

”Thank you, Logan,” she said sincerely.

Before she could even properly place the bag beside her, another item suddenly appeared in front of her—A paper bag.

”And, Miss Sienna... you need to eat this burger.”

The moment Logan mentioned food, her stomach reacted instantly. Hunger returned so violently that it almost shocked her.

Sienna finally realized just how long it had been since she last ate. Her fear had overshadowed everything, even her hunger. Now, her stomach was aching terribly, as if reminding her of her need for food.

Sienna accepted the bag quickly.

”Thank you...”

When she opened it, she saw: a cheeseburger, fries, and a bottled drink from a twenty-four-hour fast-food restaurant.

She ate in silence as the car moved through the sleeping city streets. One bite after another, and in only a few minutes, the burger disappeared. The fries followed soon after.

By the time she finished the drink, warmth had slowly returned to her exhausted body.

Only then did her thoughts begin drifting back toward the same person again, Zachary.

Unable to hold back her curiosity any longer, Sienna lifted her gaze toward Logan.

”Logan...” she called quietly.

”Yes, Miss?”

”How did you know I was at the police station?”

Logan’s eyes briefly met hers through the rearview mirror.

But instead of answering, he simply said calmly, ”I’m sorry, miss, but Master will explain it to you.”

Sienna swallowed softly.

”Zach...?” she asked quietly.

Even saying his name felt different now. Not uncomfortable. Just... unfamiliar in a new way. Because now her mind will link him to Zachary Sterling.

Logan nodded once. ”Yes, miss...”

Then he returned his focus to the road ahead.

Sienna did not ask another question. Because now, her mind was already completely occupied again.

’How did he find out? Did anyone from Imperial contact him? Ugh, I should call him now...’

Her gaze returned to Logan as she asked, ”Logan, has Zach come back yet?”

”Not yet. Maybe tomorrow.”

’Should I text him now?’ Sienna wondered as she took out her phone, but disappointment flashed across her face when she saw it was out of power.
