Reborn as a Weak Beauty Pampered by All

Chapter 1421: Chapter 1238: Part 3

However, Uncle Xiao always stopped him in time.

In Xiao Shen’s words, there’s no rush; it’s not too late to reveal the father-son relationship when Loh En is a bit older.

After all, having lived under the same roof for several years, ”Dad” is just a title. He, as a father, can wait. Revealing suddenly to Loh En that he is his father might not be beneficial.

Even though Loh En is now a third-grade elementary student, he is still young. Moreover, Kang Li and Luo Yanqing have done an excellent job as parents, in life, education, and emotional growth, showing great care and fulfilling their responsibilities as parents, allowing Loh En to genuinely feel parental love and sibling affection.

In short, whether it was Xiao Shen, Elder Loh, or Old Lady Li, all were extremely grateful to Kang Li and Luo Yanqing, thankful to Captain Kang and Cai Xiufen, this pair of grandparents, appreciating every family member of the Kang Family.

This is because every member of the Kang Family treated Loh En no differently than they did Min Rui and his siblings, cherishing and loving Loh En as their own child.

”Xiao En is really sensible!”

Listening to Loh En, Xiao Shen patted his son’s head, a faint smile on his lips.

Feeling embarrassed by the compliment, Loh En pursed his lips and said, ”I want to learn from mom and my older brothers and sisters.”

Elder Loh and Old Lady Li, and Xiao Shen: ”...”

”Mom plans to stay with Great Grandpa Jiang and Grandpa Jiang for a while. I’ve been with mom all summer, and now that school is about to start, I must spend time with great-grandparents and Uncle Xiao, or I’ll feel bad. I don’t want to be a bad child.”

At this point, Loh En paused, adding, ”Mom said children should be filial.”

Elder Loh and Old Lady Li looked on with comfort, and Old Lady Li kindly said, ”Your mom is right, but our Xiao En has always been filial, your great-grandma, great-grandpa, and Uncle Xiao all know this!”

Gently shaking his head, Loh En’s face flushed slightly, ”I haven’t done enough. Second brother acts like a little clown at home to make mom and grandma and grandpa laugh, but I can’t do that.”

Hearing this, Elder Loh couldn’t help but laugh, ”Your personality is different from your second brother’s. Your second brother has known how to entertain since he was small. It’s not your fault for not learning it, it’s just that entertaining isn’t suitable for you.”

Outside, the moonlight was cool like water, and the sounds of insects occasionally echoed from the grasses by the wall.

Sitting on a chair by Loh En’s bed, Xiao Shen smiled as he looked at the child lying on the bed, eyes not fully open, lost in thought, and couldn’t help but ask, ”Can you tell Uncle Xiao what you’re thinking?”

”Bun, Tangyuan, and Guoguo are so smart. I’m wondering why they’re so clever?! Anything they see or hear, they can mimic exactly, and they’re only three years and a few months old. Their minds are really incredible!”

As he spoke, Loh En seemed to talk about his own matters, eyes sparkling, ”Today, second brother played ’Unrestrained’ on the erhu, and Tangyuan heard it once and then played it on the piano, without a pause, smoothly, and it sounded great.”

”The song is called ’Unrestrained’?” Xiao Shen confirmed he hadn’t heard it before and asked, ”Do you know how to play it too?”

Loh En suddenly became excited, sat up, nodded, and asked Xiao Shen, ”Does Uncle Xiao want to hear it?” Needless to say, the erhu, too, was taught by Kang Li.

”If you’re not sleepy, Uncle Xiao would like to hear this ’Unrestrained.’”

With a smile in his eyes, Xiao Shen saw Loh En immediately get out of bed, take his erhu, and sit back by the bed. After a moment, Loh En tuned his instrument, and with focused expression, began to play. As the prelude started, Xiao Shen unconsciously became immersed in the erhu melody.

As time passed, Loh En finished the piece. Xiao Shen had yet to return to his senses, as Loh En blinked, and continued telling the story he had heard from his siblings. Finally, clearing his throat, he stood up, placed the erhu back, and in a poetic recital, declared ”Brew a pot of bittersweet to mourn the youth, the bright moon remains, why the melancholy? Better to roam free through wind and waves, with a song echoing across the ends of the earth.”

Snapping back, Xiao Shen’s eyes shone brightly. He lightly applauded, asking, ”Were the song, story, and your poem written by your mom?”

Loh En shook his head, and his young voice filled the room, ”Mom said she heard it by chance. When she heard someone playing ’Unrestrained,’ she felt it was particularly soul-stirring, a warmth amidst the sorrow and solitude, so she asked the person what the piece was, and from that person, she heard the story I just told.”
