Reborn as a Weak Beauty Pampered by All

Chapter 1037: Chapter 1024: Part 2

Upon hearing what Kang Yihong said, Yan Songping’s eyes showed a hint of a smile, his tone carried a hint of apology: ”Silly boy, Dad wasn’t aware of the situation before and inevitably misdirected some blame towards you. Actually, regarding your character, Dad does trust you.”

Kang Yihong: ”Thank you.”

Yan Songping waved his hand: ”What’s with the thank you?! It was you who suffered from an unwarranted disaster, yet I, this old man, misplaced my anger towards you. I feel very sorry for that, you shouldn’t say thank you to me again, otherwise, it would make me seem unreasonable.”

Kang Yihong: ”Dad, you’re not old at all.”

Yan Songping touched his temples: ”These have already turned white, yet you say I’m not old?!” With a laugh, Yan Songping changed the subject: ”You don’t have class this afternoon?”

”No.” Kang Yihong nodded and said, ”I had originally planned to take Yan Rou to visit my aunt and check on my grandma, but after what happened earlier, Yan Rou probably isn’t in the mood to go out.”

”You haven’t been there for two weekends. How about this, you go see your grandma and your aunt and uncle, Aunt Zhang is at home, Rourou will be fine.”

”Maybe I should just forget it.”

”Go on, your grandma hasn’t seen you for two consecutive weekends, she’s probably worried about you. Going over will also put the elderly at ease.”

Yan Songping had put it that way, and if Kang Yihong still insisted on not going, it would seem a bit off. He understood this, and couldn’t help but say, ”Alright, I’ll listen to Dad.”

After lunch, Yan Songping went upstairs to check on his daughter, but didn’t notice anything unusual, then headed back to work.

”I’m going to my aunt’s place to check on Grandma, do you want to come?”

Kang Yihong asked Yan Rou.

”... No.”

After hesitating for a while, Yan Rou shook her head and said, ”You go ahead, I don’t feel like moving.” Actually, she wanted to go... wanted to go to that familiar place, wanted to see those people she knew, but the incident at noon had her mind in a mess, even now, she still felt extremely upset.

Kang Yihong: ”I’ll be back early, you rest.”

”Okay.”

Yan Rou nodded, indicating she understood.

After stepping out of the room, Kang Yihong closed the door and headed down to the second floor.

Not long after he left, Yan Rou came out of the room and stood by the doorway for a moment before heading to the study room.

With her lips tightly pursed, Yan Rou stared at the landline on the desk as she slowly approached. She picked up the receiver but quickly put it down again, then picked it up again, repeating the cycle several times until she ultimately placed the receiver back in its original position.

She really wanted to dial the number she had repeated countless times in her mind, wanted to hear that familiar voice, wanted to be comforted, but she knew she couldn’t, because there was no suitable reason...

Her eyes were sour, and her nose stung, making Yan Rou feel so aggrieved, tears fell heavily.

Why would her current biological mother make such a request of her?

How indifferent can a mother be towards her own daughter to make her divorce her husband for the sake of a stepdaughter?

Yan Rou’s emotions were complex and sour, and likewise, Kang Yihong, sitting on the bus, was feeling very conflicted.

A biological mother not siding with her own daughter, but instead helping the stepdaughter ruin the biological daughter’s marriage, to Kang Yihong, this was utterly brainless!

The courtyard.

”What’s the matter here?”

Around two thirty in the afternoon, Cai Xiufen and Kang Li were sitting in the living room chatting. Casually glancing up, she saw Kang Yihong walking in from outside, noting her grandson didn’t look well, her eyes overflowed with concern.

”It’s nothing.”

Kang Yihong instinctively shook his head, he didn’t want his private matters troubling his grandma and aunt.

”Your grandma and I have good eyesight; with your current expression, just who are you trying to deceive saying it’s nothing?” Kang Li unhesitatingly exposed Kang Yihong’s lie, her clear beautiful eyes filled with inquiry: ”Tell me, what happened?”

Unexpectedly, Kang Yihong pursed his lips and remained silent.

Kang Li couldn’t help but get a bit angry: ”You haven’t called for two weekends, before you walked in, your grandma was worried about you and Yan Rou, afraid that you might be facing some difficulties and didn’t want us to worry, so that’s why you hadn’t called for two weekends. If you’re determined not to tell us now, then turn around right now, go back to where you came from!”

”Aunt...” Kang Yihong felt like a child who had done something wrong, standing in the center of the living room, head down, unable to utter another word for a while.

”What do you look like?”

Kang Li glared: ”A perfectly good young man, encountering some minor trouble turns you into this scatterbrained state, hurry it up, don’t make me keep urging you.”

”I did encounter something.” Raising his head, Kang Yihong’s mouth moved slightly, deciding to speak out. He said dully: ”Today, I saw her mom at Yan Rou’s house... that’s the situation.”
