Reborn as a Weak Beauty Pampered by All

Chapter 943: Chapter 740: Old Ginger Is Spicier

Maybe it won’t take long before all of us farmers have land to cultivate. By then, everyone’s lives will surely get better and better. I’m saying this because, Dad, why don’t you stop being the Team Leader and come with us to North City after the New Year? What do you think?”

”What would I do in North City?”

Captain Kang’s face showed no change. He said, ”Your mom can help you look after the kids and cook meals at your place. The most I can do is pick up Ruirui and them from school, but otherwise, I’ll be idle. Over time, it’ll make me feel uncomfortable.”

Kang Li: ”If you don’t go, who will pick up Ruirui after I start college? Dad, you can’t expect Mom to work hard every day, can you?”

Captain Kang: ”Yanqing is taking extended leave this time.”

Kang Li: ”That’s true, but when school starts, he has to teach at Shuimu University. And I have to go to Shuimu University too. The school definitely won’t allow freshmen to live outside. Besides, Shuimu University is far from our compound!”

Cai Xiufen: ”Didn’t Shuimu University allocate Yanqing a three-bedroom apartment?”

”They did allocate a big house.”

Kang Li nodded and then said, ”Is Mom suggesting transferring Ruirui and them to a nearby elementary school at Shuimu University?”

”That’s such a hassle.”

Cai Xiufen shook her head and expressed her intention: ”I think since Yanqing has an apartment at the university, it’s more convenient for you to stay at your own home. There’s no need for any dormitory business.”

Saying this, Cai Xiufen shifted her gaze to Captain Kang: ”How about you come with us? Once Li Bao and Yanqing go to school, it’ll just be me, an old lady, and Ruirui and the siblings left in the compound.

I don’t mind picking up the kids and being busy at home, but I’m worried that if something happens and Li Bao and Yanqing can’t come back, what would I do then?”

”Dad, don’t you care about Mom at all?”

Actually, Min Rui and the other two go to school with the kids from the compound, so there’s no safety issue. After all, elementary schools have a unified dismissal time, and many kids from the compound attend the same school. The elementary school is just one stop away, and it doesn’t take long going back and forth. Her main intention in wanting her dad to go to North City was to have him accompany her mom, so the old couple could enjoy some leisure time together.

After all, in their hometown, neither could stay idle and inevitably ended up working in the fields all day.

As Captain Kang remained silent, Kang Li continued, ”After the New Year, many from our family will leave. It won’t just be Mom, me, Luo Yanqing, and the three Ruirui. By then, my little brother, Yangyang, Chenchen, and Yihong will all have to go. As the head of the family, can you really let so many grandchildren move to North City without worry?”

Captain Kang: ”You all aren’t children anymore. Why should I be worried?”

”Alright then, if you’re at ease, let me make it this way...”

Rolling her eyes a bit, Kang Li said: ”North City is a big city and the capital. Any new national policy will be known there first, and if you come with us to North City, you can check out any good opportunities and tell my older brothers...”

”Just say it straight. There’s no need for all this roundabout persuasion to get me to North City. Just tell me what you really want to do.”

With Captain Kang’s words, Kang Li felt a bit awkward. She scratched her nose and laughed self-deprecatingly: ”Old ginger is still spicier.”

Cai Xiufen laughed out loud: ”Look at your daughter, she’s this old yet still so mischievous!”
