Reborn as a Weak Beauty Pampered by All

Chapter 832: Chapter 832: I Really Am the Family’s Favorite

”I’ll call back and ask.”

Kang Li smiled, thinking about how both her second and third sisters-in-law were hoping for daughters, but ended up with sons, she couldn’t help but chuckle, saying, ”Mom, don’t you think our family is getting a bit too male-heavy?”

Cai Xiufen: ”Isn’t that the truth?! Your eldest brother has four sons, your second brother originally had two, but he had another the year before last, so that’s three sons, your third brother matched your eldest brother the year before last, also with four sons, your fourth brother has two sons, but from what your fourth brother tells me, your fourth sister-in-law is likely carrying another son,

I’m getting a real headache looking at this sea of boys in our family! When your youngest brother gets married, if he adds a few more sons to our family, I reckon we’ll all be stressed out!”

Hearing this, Kang Li burst into laughter: ”This is quite funny, huh! But honestly, I really am the gem of our family!”

”Absolutely, you are indeed the jewel of our entire Old Kang’s Home. Back then, when your grandparents heard that I had a pair of twins with mixed sex, they didn’t even go see your younger brother. The whole family, led by your grandparents, surrounded you, all wanting to hold and cherish you!”

Looking at her precious daughter, the affection in Cai Xiufen’s eyes was undeniable: ”This lifetime, I don’t wish for anything else, just hoping you might bear a child or two, so I can enjoy happiness every day. Even after a hundred years, lying underground, I would still be happy.”

”Mom, I know what you’re thinking, but having a child isn’t as simple as wanting one, not to mention my health...” Kang Li’s face didn’t show any unusual emotion, she paused briefly before continuing, ”However, I can promise that if I do get pregnant, I will do my best to have the child.”

”Your health has gotten much better over the past two years, I’m sure you can conceive.”

As she said this, Cai Xiufen, recalling that Luo Yanqing would be on a long break at home, couldn’t help but lower her voice: ”Li Bao, what do you think about this idea?”

”What?”

Kang Li widened her eyes, full of curiosity.

”Since Yanqing will be home for a while, you two should make the most of it and try to conceive before his break is over. What do you think?”

The mother and daughter thought they were speaking quietly, but little did they know, Luo Yanqing heard everything clearly from outside the door.

It wasn’t that Luo Yanqing was eavesdropping; he had come out of the study, didn’t see Kang Li in the bedroom, guessed she was probably in the room with his mother-in-law, and came over, only to hear his mother-in-law telling his wife to put in more effort as he was about to knock on the door.

In that moment, Luo Yanqing’s handsome face turned red, and the blush spread all the way to his neck and ears.

”Mom...”

Kang Li was a bit embarrassed.

”What’s there to be shy about? You and Yanqing are a married couple; it’s perfectly normal to do that sort of thing. Besides, I hope while I’m still able, to help you take care of the child until they go to elementary school!”

This was Cai Xiufen’s sincere wish. She was truly worried about her precious daughter, afraid that one day she might suddenly not wake up and miss seeing her daughter with at least a child or two, just thinking about it made her heart ache.

”How can you just stop at elementary school?”

Kang Li was moved: ”Mom, you have to help me take care of the child all the way through middle school, high school, and onto university. Even see them get married and have kids. You will definitely live a long and prosperous life, and no gloomy talk is allowed.”

”Alright, alright, I won’t say it.”

Seeing her precious daughter almost in tears, Cai Xiufen’s heart melted completely. She said, ”Mom is so strong, living to a ripe old age of one hundred isn’t a problem! Darling, please don’t drop golden beans in front of me, or Mom’s heart will ache!”
