Reborn as a Weak Beauty Pampered by All

Chapter 486: Chapter 486: Not Holding Back

However, she pursed her lips and suddenly her eyes darted. Kang Guoan, who happened to see this, said sternly, ”Make sure your actions match your words.”

”I always do what I say, but...”

Watching the expressions on the faces of Kang Guoan and others, Kang Li’s fox-like eyes were crafty, and she hesitated to finish her sentence.

”But what?”

Kang Guoan’s face was severe.

Cai Xiufen: ”Li Bao, are you still keeping something from us?”

Team Leader Kang and Kang Yiyang remained silent; however, the grandfather and grandson both fixed their gazes on Kang Li simultaneously.

”It’s like this...”

While acting coquettishly and adorably, Kang Li revealed the matter of her joining the sports team.

Of course, she didn’t forget to explain the reasons to Team Leader Kang and the others.

As she finished speaking, the living room fell into such silence that you could hear a pin drop.

After a while, Kang Guoan was the first to recover but still seemed somewhat incredulous as he confirmed, ”Li Bao, are you saying you are now an athlete and that next year you will go abroad with the national team to participate in competitions?”

Kang Li: ”Mhm.”

Kang Yiyang: ”Little aunt, you can’t joke about such things!”

Kang Li: ”I’m not joking.”

Cai Xiufen patted Captain Kang on the arm: ”Old man, did you hear that? Our Li Bao is going to compete abroad next year... Can she handle it? And her health...”

Kang Li smiled: ”Mom, the event I’m participating in doesn’t actually require a lot of strength.”

Cai Xiufen disagreed: ”No, I’m not at ease!”

Kang Li: ”It’s already decided, mom. Your opposition won’t change anything. Besides, I’m going to win glory for the country. Are you sure you want to hold me back?”

”It really won’t have a bad effect on your health? Won’t it be like today, suddenly collapsing to the ground?” Team Leader Kang asked Kang Li after some thought.

”It won’t. Dad, please trust me. When the time comes, I will be sure to measure my strength and absolutely not cause you all to worry!”

If she used too much strength, wouldn’t the javelin, shot put, and discus end up being thrown out of the field?!

Whether that counts for points or not, I don’t know, but it’d be a big deal if it hurt someone!

And she, not being simple-minded, would certainly know better than to overdo it.

”Dad can see that during this past year in North City, you have changed a lot. You’ve become more composed and calmer in dealing with things, more methodical and steady in solving problems. Li Bao... Dad hopes that you remember, no matter what you want to do, you always have to think of your family!”

Team Leader Kang said earnestly, ”You can also be assured that for something like winning glory for the country, we know what’s at stake and won’t hold you back!”

”Dad... I’m aware of what I’m doing. You can be at ease, and mom, little brother, Yangyang too. You all can rest assured that no matter what I do, I will know my limits and not engage in anything beyond my ability!”

Kang Li was moved as she spoke. She nestled into her mother’s arm, burying her head in her embrace: ”Mom! I know that everyone in the family cares about me and doesn’t want to see me get hurt. I understand all of it, and I will definitely not let you all be saddened because of me!”

”Tsk tsk tsk! What are you talking about? Don’t talk nonsense about being sad. Quickly now, spit on the ground!”

Cai Xiufen spat on the ground three times in succession, then hurriedly patted her darling daughter’s back, urging her anxiously.

”Oh.”

Kang Li responded, imitating her mother’s action, turned her head away and lightly ”tch” spit onto the ground.

”Alright, we’ll keep the matter Li Bao just spoke of between us for now. As for the others in the family, let’s not tell them yet.” Team Leader Kang spoke, and of course, Cai Xiufen, Kang Guoan, and Kang Yiyang had no objections. Then, Team Leader Kang asked Kang Li, ”Does Little Luo know about it?”
