Reborn as a Weak Beauty Pampered by All

Chapter 435: Chapter 435: Are You Underestimating Me?

”Okay, I’ll trust you for now, but you must stop that job if you feel unwell at all.”

”Alright, Professor Luo.”

Kang Li replied with a mischievous smile, then continued, ”The second thing is that I am now a member of the national sports team...” She hadn’t finished her sentence when Luo Yanqing interrupted, ”You mean you’re an athlete, and on the national team at that?”

”That’s right, I am indeed formally an athlete for the national team, and around next August, I will be going abroad to compete with our national sports delegation.”

Seeing the man’s serious expression, Kang Li couldn’t help feeling a bit uneasy and asked, ”Do you not think highly of me, or do you disapprove of me becoming an athlete?”

Luo Yanqing was silent for a long while, his expression grave, ”Can you tell me exactly what’s going on?” An athlete, and a national one at that, how did this come about all of a sudden?

”It all started like this...”

Without any attempt to conceal, Kang Li shared everything that had happened to her during the day, not leaving out a single detail, and then she said, ”Do you also find it absurd? That’s how I felt at the time, but Director Loh insisted I was an excellent sports prospect, and he went out of his way to persuade me to bring glory to our nation, taking me directly to their training grounds...”

As a result, my performance greatly satisfied Director Loh and his superiors. They allowed me to skip the daily training, but I must participate in the training camp before the competition, though it will only take half a month of my time.”

”...What do you think?”

After a pause following Kang Li’s words, Luo Yanqing’s crisp voice slowly spilled from his lips.

”I... I actually didn’t think much about it...”

Under the man’s piercing gaze, Kang Li’s foxy eyes couldn’t help fluttering as she confessed, ”Okay, I’ll tell you the truth, I initially refused. But Director Loh was just too persuasive, making me feel like if I didn’t agree, I would be letting down the country, the people, and even my parents and all my loved ones who love and care for me.”

Luo Yanqing frowned, ”Do you think I’d believe that?”

Kang Li covered her face, and after a moment, she said with a laugh, ”The refusal is true, I can swear to that in front of you.”

Luo Yanqing: ”Xiao Li, do you think your body can handle the strain of intense sports?”

Kang Li: ”The event I’m participating in isn’t considered a strenuous sport.” When she said this, Kang Li teased the man, ”Can you smile for me? Come on, turn the corners of your mouth up...” She took the initiative and curled up the corners of the man’s handsome lips slightly, ”There, just like that. I really like the way you look when you smile with your lips curled up.”

”Stop fooling around, we’re discussing a very serious topic right now.”

Grabbing his mischievous little wife’s slender fingers from his lips and holding them in his palm, Luo Yanqing’s inky phoenix eyes were filled with disapproval, ”With your delicate body, what kind of competition could you possibly partake in?”

”You’re underestimating me!”

Huffing indignantly, Kang Li retorted, ”You must have forgotten that time I carried Mo Yan to your place, right? Let me tell you something, I’ve had a special ability since I was little, which is extraordinary strength. No matter what it is, once it’s in my hands, I barely need to exert any force to crush it to pieces. To avoid scaring my family and to not be labeled a monster, I kept this special ability a secret and didn’t tell anyone about it.”

”Because of your strength, every time you overuse your power, that’s when you feel completely drained, right?”
