She Lives without Regret in This Life

Chapter 1628: Chapter 1705: Farewell Between Friends

At the Feng Manor, Liu Yilan bid farewell to Sheng Ning and the others after breakfast. Her schedule was tight, and this visit to the Lincoln Art Center was entirely for Sheng Ning.

She had stayed at the Feng Manor for a few days, and meeting so many good friends had made her very satisfied.

”I’m leaving, who knows when we will meet again.” Liu Yilan waved her hand, looking reluctant to part.

”Aren’t you going home for the New Year?” The Spring Festival is a time for family reunions, and it would be a shame if Liu Yilan didn’t return home.

”I won’t have the time this year; please let Teacher Qiu Bai know for me.” She had intended to go home for the New Year, but she postponed a very important schedule to come to the U.S., so she could only make up for it during the New Year.

”That’s too bad. We’ll all be waiting for you on the mainland.” Sheng Ning hugged her, ”We await your return home adorned in success, with glory and honor.”

”You!” Liu Yilan playfully pinched her nose in resignation, ”Do I seem that old? Return home gloriously, really.”

”Of course! You are the proud Phoenix of all of us, now reborn from the flames, soaring to the heavens. Can’t we gaze up at you in admiration?”

”... Can we still be friends?” Liu Yilan teased. ”How can I compare with you? Whether it’s a billion-dollar foreign exchange or a hospital, those are unparalleled achievements. You’re my idol.”

Liu Yilan held her hand tightly, ”You have always been my role model. You’ve never let me down, and I will continue to strive in your direction.”

”It’s my honor.” The recognition from Liu Yilan made Sheng Ning happier than anything else.

”By the way, when are you heading back to Europe?”

”I’ll probably stay for about a week, mainly to meet some U.S. musicians and attend some events in the music and art circles.”

”My theater opens at the end of this month, on the 30th. Will you play accompaniment for me?” Sheng Ning thickened her face to ask, ”It’s a stage play I wrote myself! If you come, I guarantee it will be a hit.”

Without thinking, Liu Yilan agreed, ”No problem, then I’ll join for accompaniment on the 30th and return to Europe on the 31st.”

”Great, hahaha...” Sheng Ning giggled naively, ”I’ll have the score sent to you by the manager later.”

”Okay!” Liu Yilan waved again and then gracefully got into the car and left.

Sheng Ning watched her leave, tears flickering in her eyes.

The days when they could reunite would become fewer, yet she felt very content and relieved. Everyone was doing well, each finding their direction in life.

After Liu Yilan left, Sheng Ning called Demira.

”Hi Boss, did you agree to be the lead dancer?” Demira asked excitedly.

”Of course not.” She had too much going on and still had to worry about Living Yama’s safety, leaving her no energy to be the lead dancer. With the Feng Family about to move back to the mainland, she must remain cautious and couldn’t be distracted.

Dancing requires intense focus, and doing it while distracted would only waste something valuable.

”Boss, are you sure you don’t want to reconsider? I really think you’re extremely well-suited,” Demira persuaded earnestly.

Sheng Ning chuckled, teasing, ”Who was it who was all but dancing with joy when they heard I wouldn’t be the lead dancer anymore?”

”Uh... Boss, I was blind before.” Who would have thought that the heir of a big family would not only handle business without engaging in social interactions but also be capable of dancing?

Not only dance, but dance well.

It was truly astonishing; he wouldn’t have believed it if he hadn’t seen it himself.

”Anyway, even though I can’t dance, I fulfilled my promise to you. Send the score to the Imperial Hotel where Liu is currently staying.”
