She Lives without Regret in This Life

Chapter 1427 - 1497: Mutual Annoyance

After exiting the airport, looking at the unfamiliar surroundings, An’an stood still in place for a full ten minutes.

She had two addresses in her hand. The first was in Chinatown, the second was the Broadway Victoria Theater. Judging by the time, her sister should be at the second address.

An’an took a bun out of her bag and ate it with plain water, bite by bite.

The visit was too rushed and too sudden, plus she took a special route, so nothing was prepared. Luckily, she had developed the habit of bringing snacks when going to the market in the countryside.

Having finished her bun, she took a deep breath and started walking toward the city.

She had crossed half the globe, this distance wouldn’t faze her.

Gu Yunbo had been very busy lately, leaving early and returning late every day. Coming back late at night, he sometimes brought her some food. As he entered, Sheng Ning heard the sound of an argument downstairs.

Peeking downstairs, unsurprisingly, it was Arthur.

”Hey! Ning!” Arthur greeted, looking up when he saw the window open, ”I look forward to seeing you tomorrow.”

Sheng Ning didn’t quite understand and looked at Gu Yunbo.

”Don’t mind him, he’s just a madman.”

”Gu,” Arthur called out, ”I’m your superior, please mind your tone.”

”I’m not from your M country, I’m just an external hire.” Gu Yunbo had a blasé attitude, ”Let me tell you, stop keeping tabs on me every day, or I’ll quit.”

Arthur had been watching too closely lately, making it hard for her to earn extra money.

”Alright, I’m leaving now, goodnight.” Arthur waved at the two and got in his car and left.

Gu Yunbo hurriedly ran upstairs, throwing her hat onto Sheng Ning’s table.

”Arthur likes you, doesn’t he?” Sheng Ning said playfully, spinning a pen in her hand, ”Have you considered it?”

”Not planning to, don’t bring it up again.”

”Alright.” Meng Fan was no longer around, Sheng Ning didn’t want her friend to end up alone, but she also understood Gu Yunbo’s feelings, so she felt conflicted.

”By the way, starting tomorrow, you need to take half a day to go to Xilin University with me for training, and teach me gun skills.” Gu Yunbo casually said before heading to her room.

”Sure.” It had been agreed upon before, Sheng Ning responded readily.

The theater had not officially reopened yet. Aunt Feng would open in the morning as she needed to head out for errands. Today, she had just opened the door when a shadow fell in.

Aunt Feng was startled and couldn’t help but scream, ”Ah...”

Gu Yunbo rushed down from upstairs like the wind, pulling out a knife and pointing it at the shadow.

”Who are you talking about?” She warily eyed the dusty-faced girl in front of her.

An’an rubbed her eyes, struggling to open them against the morning sun. She had walked all night, and her legs barely felt like her own.

She finally made it here, leaned against the door as it was closed and fell asleep. She had barely slept half an hour before waking to the noise.

The grumpy An’an was quite displeased.

”Who are you?” Gu Yunbo didn’t even glance at the gun in her hand, her small face cold as she snapped, ”Why are you here?” She originally thought this was where her sister lived, but the sudden appearance of two strangers made An’an feel disappointed.

Could it be that her sister doesn’t live here?

In Chinatown?

Thinking about having to walk to Chinatown, An’an’s expression grew even darker.

”I say, little brat, who do you think you are talking to? Want me to shoot you dead?” Gu Yunbo was provoked by this brat; she seemed young, but why did her eyes annoy her so much?
