Longevity through Upgrading Buildings

Chapter 350: Chapter 189: Acquiring the Decayed Firefly and Yin Locust Tree

Ji Yuan had been staying in Great Love City for five days without any disturbances.

During this time, he went out multiple times to purchase various cultivation resources in Great Love City, as every place has its unique offerings, especially within the territory of Joy Palace.

For example, in terms of elixirs, there was quite a difference.

Apart from the common cultivation elixirs, the best-selling ones here were those aiding in male and female pleasures.

Like something... never mind, it’s too crude to mention.

So Ji Yuan only purchased a few first-grade elixir recipes, planning to take them back and open a new market for the Water Dragon Sect.

Of course, the main focus was on some herbs that weren’t available in the Water Dragon Sect, solely provided by Joy Palace, for which Ji Yuan specifically bought a full storage bag of herbs.

Just waiting to make a fortune after he returns.

A few times when he went out, he didn’t pass by Wu Yunbo’s shop, but he used his Divine Sense to probe it.

There was a notice posted inside Wu Yunbo’s tavern.

It only had a simple sentence on it.

”Can meet for detailed discussions.”

The notice carried the aura of Deng Pinghai.

Ji Yuan knew this was an invitation from him to meet.

After all, although Ji Yuan received the Communication Talisman, as long as he didn’t activate it with Spiritual Qi, Deng Pinghai wouldn’t be able to find him.

Should he go?

If he did, Ji Yuan didn’t need to be told. He already knew the other party wanted to persuade him to join their Great Love Sect.

During this period, Ji Yuan also inquired within Great Love City and learned a bit about the Great Love Sect and the Ghost Seeking Cave.

Firstly, the Great Love Sect wasn’t operating in the shadows.

In fact, they could be considered quite open.

Those Foundation Establishment Cultivators rented several streets in Great Love City together and set up a market named Great Love Square.

The prices aren’t high, and the safety is guaranteed.

So Deng Pinghai and his group have always had a pretty good reputation within Great Love City.

Next was the gossip about the Ghost Seeking Cave.

The reputation of those forces wasn’t so good; many cultivators who entered Ghost Seeking Cave to search for treasures either fell under the Celestial Calamity Demon Beasts or at the hands of those Demon Cultivators.

The murders and arson within Great Love City were mostly committed by cultivators from Ghost Seeking Cave.

They themselves are desperate types, and once they finish a job in Great Love City, if they’re quick enough, by the time they escape back to Ghost Seeking Cave, the other party likely wouldn’t dare to pursue them.

Even if they met someone daring enough to pursue them, they could attempt a counter-kill using the sinister elements within Ghost Seeking Cave.

So, the reputation of the cultivators from Ghost Seeking Cave has always been poor.

After hearing this, Ji Yuan immediately burst into laughter.

”They’re all Demon Cultivators. Can any of them have a good reputation?”

Comparing the two, in fact, Ji Yuan was more inclined to join the Ghost Seeking Cave. Why?

Because they’re Demon Cultivators.

After some deliberation, Ji Yuan still decided to meet them and then make a decision after hearing what they had to say.

In any case, he inclined to not take sides for now, and wait until the two sides are done fighting. He could then switch identities to enter the Ghost Seeking Cave and do business with them, and possibly try to join them.

Having made the decision, Ji Yuan sent a Communication Talisman to Deng Pinghai the day after, arranging to meet at the second floor of a teahouse by the East City Gate.

”Brother Qiu, if you hadn’t sent a message, I would have thought you had left our Great Love City.”

This time, Deng Pinghai didn’t use any ghostly methods but walked in through the door instead.

Ji Yuan sat in the main seat without any courtesy, ”Speak, what else do you want from me?”

As Deng Pinghai just entered, he raised an eyebrow, thinking to himself there’s a chance.

”Brother Qiu is a smart man, no need to say much about these things,” Deng Pinghai said with a chuckle.

”Better say it, to avoid mismatching lips like a donkey’s and a horse’s,”

Ji Yuan picked up a Spirit Fruit from the table and tossed it into his mouth. It was sweet and sour, quite tasty, similar to eating grapes, except the amount of Spiritual Qi it restored was minimal, barely worth mentioning.

Deng Pinghai nodded slightly, then cast a few restrictions around the room before sitting opposite Ji Yuan.

”Our Great Love Sect would like to invite Brother Qiu to join us and undertake a grand enterprise together.”

”A grand enterprise?”

Ji Yuan shook his head with a mocking smile, ”Same as I said before, I was chased enough up north. Now I came here just not to live a life of being constantly chased.”

”But your Great Love Sect’s situation, you know it yourselves. Wouldn’t you say you were forced into Ghost Seeking Cave mostly by Joy Palace?”

Deng Pinghai wasn’t surprised by this, instead, he chuckled:

”Would Joy Palace move, forcing us away? Even if a Golden Core Zhenren came, we would still only have our necks on the chopping block... Brother Qiu, why not think again.”

Ji Yuan furrowed his brows, ”Think about what, just say it directly.”

Deng Pinghai didn’t expect such a response from Ji Yuan, and amidst his slightly awkward laughter, he lowered his voice and said, ”There are certain things Joy Palace can’t do openly, so it’s up to us.”

”Oh?”

With these words, Ji Yuan seemed interested, leaning forward, ”You mean... we are people from Joy Palace?”

Deng Pinghai spread his hands with a slight smile, ”I didn’t say that.”

Ji Yuan’s eyes flashed, seemingly extremely excited.

But actually...not to mention the doubt in this, stepping back ten thousand steps, even if the Great Love Sect were indeed members of Joy Palace, so what?

That would still make them outsourcing personnel, while Ji Yuan was a bona fide disciple of the Water Dragon Sect, and a student of a Golden Core Zhenren.

Such a trivial identity wasn’t enough to tempt him.

”Brother Qiu, how about it, join our Great Love Sect,”

Deng Pinghai saw Ji Yuan wavering and quickly pressed on with persistence.
