Longevity through Upgrading Buildings

Chapter 294: Chapter 170: The Origin of the Water Dragon Sect

”Has he really been secretly putting in the effort all along behind our backs?”

Ji Yuan speculated in his heart.

”Anything else?”

Hua Yaoyue asked without lifting her head.

Ji Yuan slightly bowed, then proceeded to mention that he had already sent a communication to Master Xuan Shui, but he didn’t suspect that someone had intercepted those messages halfway, he merely stated it as a fact.

”Oh?”

Hua Yaoyue listened to Ji Yuan’s words and turned back, ”I received your communication and set off immediately... So, you’re saying there’s a Golden Core Zhenren in our sect who has joined the Demon Sect?”

”A Golden Core Zhenren?”

Ji Yuan was surprised to learn this from Hua Yaoyue, unable to help but be a little stunned.

”Yes, only someone at the Golden Core Realm can forcibly lock onto a Communication Talisman.”

”Doesn’t that mean that in the future, Communication Talismans are not safe?”

”This thing... has never been safe.”

Hua Yaoyue said, as she seemed to ponder who this Golden Core Zhenren really was, Ji Yuan remained silent.

”Have you informed your Sect Leader Martial Uncle about this?”

”Yes.”

”Then that’s fine.”

”Disciple has one more question... Disciple suspects if there’s any secret about Lishui City, otherwise, why would the Demon Dao people persistently target this city? The previous issue with Isle Master Qing Han exposing his matter was one thing, but now they’re launching a massive attack. If it was truly just for some minor benefits, it wouldn’t make sense, as it’s not quite in line with the Demon Dao’s style.”

This was the question Ji Yuan had been pondering over throughout his journey.

He always felt that the Demon Dao’s attack seemed too peculiar, taking such a huge risk for so little gain, cunning Demon Thieves should not engage in such actions.

”This matter...”

Hua Yaoyue seemed to know something about it.

She put down the small shovel in her hand, patted her hands and stood up, walking along the path between the flower beds, with Ji Yuan following her closely.

”It’s actually related to an incident from a very long, long time ago.”

”A long, long time?”

”Yes, it’s roughly two to three thousand years ago.” Hua Yaoyue said, turning her head to look towards the south, ”Do you know why our Water Dragon Sect chose to establish here, and why it is named Water Dragon Sect?”

”Disciple does not know.”

Ji Yuan had some guesses, but he didn’t say them, preferring to directly hear Hua Yaoyue’s explanation.

”Because thousands of years ago, a true dragon, a water-elemental true dragon, was slain here, and now our Water Dragon Sect still enjoys a bit of the good fortune from it.”

”What?! A true dragon?”

Ji Yuan truly didn’t know about this, and not only that, he had never even encountered similar records in any historical documents of the Water Dragon Sect.

”Yes, this matter is secret, you know it, but don’t spread it outside.”

Hua Yaoyue deliberately reminded him.

”Yes.”

Ji Yuan understood, it seemed even his senior brothers and sisters were unaware of this matter.

”As for that Lishui City, to be precise, it’s more about the river next to it, I believe it’s called...”

”Li Hua River.” Ji Yuan spoke up.

”Oh yes, now it’s called Li Hua River, but it used to be called Dragon Fall River, supposedly formed when the true dragon was struck down, so now there’s still a strand of dragon aura remaining at the riverbed, and those from the Demon Dao likely saw some information somewhere and are searching for it.”

The secret sought after arduously by the Demon Sect was so casually revealed by Hua Yaoyue.

”Dragon aura, isn’t that a good thing?”

Although Ji Yuan did not fully understand, just based on the name, he could tell that it was something valuable.

”Heh, in the Land of the Fallen Dragon, the last bit of dragon aura from a true dragon about to be killed, do you think it’s something good?”

Hua Yaoyue’s mocking laughter interrupted Ji Yuan’s fantasies.

On second thought, it made sense; if it truly were something good, Hua Yaoyue herself would have already tried to retrieve it.

”However, regarding the Sword Manual you cultivate, it’s somewhat useful. Your second sword embryo could be forged above the Li Hua River, where it might even absorb a trace of Dragon Fortune, but remember, once the Water Transport starts mingling with blood aura, you must stop immediately, otherwise, even I won’t be able to save you.”

”Yes.”

Ji Yuan quickly made a mental note of this; unable to acquire dragon aura, obtaining a trace of Dragon Fortune was also beneficial.

By that time, his second Flying Sword should be considerably more powerful, but if that’s the case, why didn’t his first Flying Sword receive the same treatment?

His first Flying Sword was forged in the Cloud Rain Marsh.

Ji Yuan curiously asked about this doubt in his heart.

Hua Yaoyue chuckled upon hearing this, saying, ”The place is known as the Boundless Marsh, yet during those days, it was nothing more than a small mudflat by Starfall River. Can you guess how this Boundless Marsh came to be?”

Ji Yuan thought for a moment and said, ”Fought out in battle?”

”No, when the true dragon fled here, it was down to its last breath, no great battle occurred. This Boundless Marsh was actually... dug out.”

”What? Dug out?!”

Ji Yuan was extremely shocked upon hearing this answer.

It is said that digging three feet into the ground is already preposterous, and yet this place was dug out into a boundless marsh?

”Yes, every bit of soil with a trace of dragon aura was dug out by people, do you still think there’s any good fortune to spread among us latecomers?”

”Don’t overthink it.”

Even Hua Yaoyue couldn’t help but clasp her hands behind her back and sigh deeply.

As soil with dragon aura was highly coveted, Ji Yuan couldn’t help but think about his Fish Pond; according to normal estimations, the Fish Pond could eventually nurture a true dragon.

At that time, he might need to rename it Dragon Pool.

”Master, what level of Spirit Beast is a true dragon considered as?”

Ji Yuan asked curiously.

”Level?”

Hua Yaoyue echoed the question, then softly murmured, ”Just one could easily annihilate the entire Cangluo Continent.”
