Longevity through Upgrading Buildings

Chapter 131: Chapter 112: First-Grade Superior Alchemist

The handwriting is different, seemingly from several different people.

At the top, it boldly states: ”I am the first master of this Cave Mansion, known by my Dharma name Qingpin. As I sit here in meditation for the last time, reflecting on my life, it truly has been as impoverished as my name suggests. Even after dedicating my entire life, I could not achieve Foundation Establishment. It is a loss, a regret.”

The second line reads: ”Damn, Brother Qingpin, your Dharma name was the problem. If you had been called ’Wealthy Daoist,’ perhaps you would have achieved Foundation Establishment by now.”

The third line’s handwriting is similar to the second, probably from the same person, but the tone is entirely different.

”In my old age, I exhausted my entire fortune to purchase a Middle Grade Foundation Establishment Pill from the Medicine King Valley. Life or death, it all hinges on this one try...”

Whether this elder succeeded or not... Ji Yuan looked further down.

This line of text is extremely short.

”I, Phoenix Peach, have established my Foundation here and started an island today, leaving these words!”

Seeing this, Ji Yuan couldn’t help but brighten up. This house had someone achieve Foundation Establishment; it seems to have some fortune after all.

Lastly, there is a line that looks newer, probably written not long ago.

”I am originally a Loose Cultivator from the Jin Kingdom. Accepted into the sect by a senior’s favor, I joined at an advanced age. Over twelve years have passed, and I’ve achieved nothing. I fear my end is near.

I have nothing to leave behind but an Alchemy Insight, placed in the drawer of the Alchemy Room, hoping to aid future cultivators.

I am leaving.”

Ji Yuan stood before the wall, silently looking at the rows of characters for a long time.

The words may not preserve the people, but they preserve their entire lives.

Of the four elders, only one succeeded in Foundation Establishment... which should be quite good on this Chulong Island.

Ji Yuan exhaled deeply and returned to the Alchemy Room. Inside was a single table with just one drawer, which he pulled open to find a heavily worn booklet.

He briefly flipped through it.

It contained Alchemy experience ranging from Low Grade to High Grade of the first tier, with a blank page at the end labeled ”Foundation Establishment Pill.”

But there was no content.

High Grade of the first tier... Ji Yuan was currently stuck at this threshold, unable to refine High Grade Elixirs of the first tier.

Perhaps the opportunity for a breakthrough in my Alchemy Dao lies here!

Ji Yuan felt a surge of joy, not expecting that staying in a place could present such a chance.

No, it’s not just this house. Many residences likely hold the legacies of past seniors. This is part of the charm of the Immortal Sect’s power, isn’t it?

Many things difficult to obtain outside are right at one’s fingertips here.

Having taken the Alchemy Insights, Ji Yuan once again went to the backyard, glancing again at the words on the wall... Whether successful in Foundation Establishment or not, when the time comes, I too should leave a line for those who come after.

As for what to leave, Ji Yuan hadn’t decided yet.

No doubt, when the time comes, his mindset will be different.

Walking in the backyard, there happened to be a small pond, so there was no need to dig a Fish Pond.

Just within this Water Dragon Sect, Ji Yuan didn’t intend to raise fish. As long as the construction effect is activated, daily minimum gain suffices.

Raising pigs and fish would be best done on Mist Island.

However, he could erect two fences in the corner, using them as Pigsty and Chicken Cage to claim daily gains.

With this in mind, Ji Yuan entered the backyard house. Besides the bedroom and bathroom, there were two empty rooms... The Enlightenment Room and Talisman Room were just ready-made.

As for the kitchen at the back, Ji Yuan inspected it thoroughly and, ensuring there were no problems, he summoned the panel.

Activated all building effects with one click.

By now the sun had set, and according to the panel time, it was evening. The Spiritual Qi density inside and outside the house immediately increased by 30%.

”Whew—”

Feeling the ample Spiritual Qi, Ji Yuan exhaled long.

Cultivate, it’s time to cultivate!

Such excellent conditions should not be wasted.

He quickly retrieved Tu Yue from the Storage Bag, instructing her to first gather the Water Dew from the Fish Pond, then find some firewood or similarly usable items in the kitchen, and fence off the Pigsty and Chicken Cage in the backyard.

After collecting the daily minimum, it was time to tidy up the house.

This was, after all, a place others had inhabited; even though Ji Yuan had activated the Cave Mansion effect, removing dust and such, it still needed to be tidied up.

Anything needing to be discarded should be thrown away, anything needing to be burned should be incinerated.

After only a few hours of cultivation, Ji Yuan felt his Dantian had already refilled, with all previous exhaustion replenished.

Infusing Spiritual Qi into the Water Dragon Sect Robe, the dust removal effect triggered, leaving him completely clean.

Excellent, this even saved the step of washing up.

Though it was Ji Yuan’s first day joining the Water Dragon Sect, he wasn’t one to waste time. Ending his cultivation for the moment, he headed to the Enlightenment Room in the backyard.

This was the place he had first instructed Tu Yue to organize, so the room was already cleaned thoroughly.

All odds and ends left by the previous elder were efficiently dealt with by Ji Yuan using a Fireball Technique.

Once more, he retrieved Yue Zhu’s meditation cushion from the Storage Bag. Seated cross-legged, he then took out the Alchemy Insights he had just acquired and began carefully examining it.

Refining High Grade first-tier Elixirs isn’t too different from refining Middle Grade ones.

Except for the initial herb processing part.

Subsequent steps involve fusion, impurity removal, and Pill Formation.

But these steps are extremely difficult, especially the impurity removal part.

Ji Yuan initially had a formula for only one High Grade Elixir, the Spirit Gathering Pill, so to aspire to the High Grade Alchemist level of the first tier, he can only use this.
