Longevity through Upgrading Buildings

Chapter 20: Chapter 20: Changes

Ji Yuan’s gaze fell on the fish pond; this time the spirit fish that advanced were the ”Doghead Catfish” and ”Blood Spirit Carp.”

The Blood Spirit Carp should sell for at least 1 Spirit Stone more.

”Two spirit fish, they should sell for at least 35 Spirit Stones, the other 5 semi-spirit fish together should fetch around 8 Spirit Stones.”

”That’s another 43 Spirit Stones earned, even after accounting for the cost of continuing to purchase semi-spirit fish, there’s still about 30 remaining.”

Ji Yuan couldn’t help but look at the panel.

The upgrade conditions for the Level 2 [Fish Pond]: Low-grade Spirit Stones ×30, Cold Iron Sand ×5 pounds, inscribing an Ice Condensation Talisman.

Perhaps it’s the heavens’ favor, or perhaps it’s because he’s inherently a fisherman, this Level 2 [Fish Pond] isn’t like some [Pigsty] or [Cave Mansion], which need 50 Spirit Stones to upgrade.

It only needs 30 Spirit Stones.

The most important thing is that after upgrading the fish pond, it can produce 1 drop of Water Dew daily, worth 8 Spirit Stones... This is a stable income, far more stable than the advancement of semi-spirit fish or spirit dolphin growth.

a day, 80 a week, 320 a month...

The ”Calculation Method” emerges, and Ji Yuan is already fantasizing happily.

Upgrade!

Must upgrade!

As for magic, there’s no shortage at the moment, and learning more is beyond Ji Yuan’s Qi Cultivation of the fourth level to perform.

Simply put, the mana bar is limited.

A single ”Artifact Manipulation Technique” to control a magical artifact, plus the Water Drop Finger for a basic attack, is already about right.

The same goes for magical artifacts.

So, currently, the best use for these Spirit Stones is to upgrade the [Fish Pond], thereby obtaining stable Spirit Stone income.

This way, no matter what you plan to do later, it becomes much simpler.

Just that this Cold Iron Sand’s price is unknown, plus inscribing this Ice Condensation Talisman... Sticking one on and seeing if it works?

Or do you have to inscribe it yourself?

If you have to inscribe it yourself, don’t you still have to learn some talisman painting skills?

Oh well, tomorrow I’ll first ask around about this Cold Iron Sand at Zengtou City.

After all, the sky is getting dark, and once night falls, the concentration of Spiritual Qi inside the room will increase. With such good cultivation conditions, Ji Yuan doesn’t dare waste it.

Early the next morning, Ji Yuan, who had been cultivating diligently all night, woke up early.

He first casually killed the two spirit fish with two fingers before he went to the door, a thought in his heart released his White Boat Dharma Ship at the shore.

Finally, there’s no need to row the covered boat to sell fish. Ji Yuan can’t help but feel a little emotional.

It’s somewhat like trading a bird for a cannon.

Just didn’t expect that before he could board the boat and release the fish, a middle-aged man came walking on the nearby path, yawning, with red eyes and dark eye circles, walking a bit unsteadily, but without a whiff of alcohol, seemingly just from staying up too late.

He first saw the Dharma Ship by the lake, his eyes lit up, and then saw Ji Yuan holding two spirit fish, and he stopped.

”Ji... Ji Daoist, are you going to sell fish?”

Deng Yunliang’s eyes cleared up a lot.

If such a high-quality Dharma Ship made him somewhat envious, then the two spirit fish in Ji Yuan’s hand woke him up.

In Zengtou City, those who can kill spirit fish are undoubtedly mid-stage Qi Cultivators.

And of those mid-stage Qi Cultivators, it must be one of the skilled ones; let alone a ruthless person like Ji Yuan who can kill two spirit fish in one breath... A truly ruthless person!

Deng Yunliang hadn’t missed much in befriending those mid-stage Qi Cultivators in Zengtou City before, but he never thought there was one hidden right beside him.

And so young!

”Hmm, Daoist Deng, did you just come back from Zengtou City?”

Ji Yuan remembered Wu Qin’s inquiry from last time and wondered what Deng Yunliang was up to.

”Yes, yes.”

Deng Yunliang quickly nodded with a smile.

Ji Yuan responded and didn’t ask further, he wasn’t curious about others as long as they didn’t affect him, and then he went back in to fetch a few more semi-spirit fish, today he planned to sell out the fish pond.

Once inside, Deng Yunliang seemed to remember something, clenched his fist, turned around several times, and finally gave up.

”Oh well, I’ll try again tonight!”

”I can definitely turn the tide!”

As he pondered, a name popped into his mind... Lin Hu.

”...”

Ji Yuan went to the fish cage and sold all the fish he had caught, earning more than expected, a total of 44 Spirit Stones.

Attracting the attention of many nearby fishermen.

But this time he didn’t hide his cultivation, the mid-stage Qi Cultivation aura was released, and even though it was only the fourth level, it calmed those fishermen down.

Everyone was just seeking wealth, not risking life.

Soon, Ji Yuan didn’t hurry to buy fish, but first went to the Hundred Treasures Tower.

”Cold Iron Sand?”

The attending Water Dragon Sect cultivator glanced at Ji Yuan with a half-smile.

”Yes.”

”Do you have any Cold Iron Sand?” the Water Dragon Sect cultivator asked back.

”This...” Ji Yuan frowned, this dog-faced guy has a bad temper, unlike that generous elder he met last time when buying magic skills.

”Alright, if you don’t have any, don’t make trouble here, leave.”

The square-faced cultivator waved him off impatiently, and Ji Yuan had to bow and take his leave.

Instead, a middle-aged woman in blue clothes in the Talisman Area beside explained, ”Cold Iron Sand is currently a shortage in the Water Dragon Sect; it’s not even sufficient for internal supply, so how could any flow outside?”

”Our Hundred Treasures Tower has also only been accepting but not selling it recently, if you find any, you can bring it in, we’ll purchase it at a high price, 15 Spirit Stones per pound.”

”That expensive?!”

Ji Yuan couldn’t help but exclaim.

Spirit Stones per pound, even if he could buy it, it would cost 75 Spirit Stones altogether, plus the original 30 Spirit Stones needed for upgrading the [Fish Pond], making it 105 Spirit Stones in total... It would be enough to exchange for a Mid-grade Spirit Stone!

Mid-grade Spirit Stones, huh.

That must be something only Foundation Establishment Stage cultivators have!

”What did you expect?”

The previously sarcastic square-faced cultivator finally spoke, ”To the northwest of Zengtou City, there’s an area called Clear Wave Pool, around there is Cold Iron Sand, if you can mine some, no matter how little, our Water Dragon Sect will buy it.”

”Yes.”

Ji Yuan bowed to both of them before exiting the Hundred Treasures Tower.

He also asked around in the area and learned that there has been no Cold Iron Sand sold by the Hundred Treasures Tower for half a year, and at that time, the price was also cheap, only 5 Spirit Stones a pound, unlike now, which has tripled and still is in short supply.

’I don’t know what the Water Dragon Sect is up to, needing so much Cold Iron Sand.’

The sudden change disrupted Ji Yuan’s plans, so he had to first buy 8 semi-spirit fish and returned home.

The path to upgrading the fish pond was temporarily blocked.

Unless he goes to Clear Wave Pool to find it himself, but Ji Yuan currently has no plans to venture out.

If he wanted a stable income, upgrading the pigsty would also provide that, with blood essence being more valuable.

But upgrading requires 50 Spirit Stones, plus 3 Withered Bone Flowers, and inscribing Purification Talismans.

The matter of Withered Bone Flowers was something Ji Yuan also inquired about.

It turned out the answer he got was that there are none available at Zengtou City, and he’ll have to find them in other markets, even if found, they won’t be cheap.

[Fish Pond] and [Pigsty] are both unattainable for now.

So... should the idea be shelved temporarily?

Ji Yuan looked at his panel, seemingly not so.

The panel is called the building upgrade panel, and the buildings refreshed now are those the original owner roughly had, but it doesn’t mean the panel can only upgrade these buildings.

For example, what about [Alchemy Room] or [Artifact Refining Room]?
