I Can Gain One Skill Point Per Second

Chapter 586: Chapter 586: Entering the Hive—A Stunning Sight

When Nangong Su was vividly recounting to his colleagues how Lin Yi supported his daughter by visiting the Nangong Family, the soldiers responsible for front-line security were stunned.

They were completely dumbfounded.

It wasn’t because of Lin Yi’s rapid action, but because of Lin Yi’s decision.

To travel through the passage linking numerous star systems to the Insect Hive Star.

What a crazy decision it was, Lin Yi must have lost his mind.

On the other hand, the Queen of the Insect Nest had no idea that the Insect Race’s doom was about to arrive.

From the first encounter with Lin Yi, it was like a greedy cat that suffered all losses, unable to gain a single advantage at Lin Yi’s hands.

On the Insect Hive Star, within the stone fortress, tens of thousands of insects of various forms were busy.

Some resembled snakes, others ants, each undertaking different tasks.

Under the leadership of the Queen of the Insect Nest, they began clear social division of labor, even breeding other weak creatures on this planet to ensure the Queen of the Insect Nest received more nutrition.

Day in and day out for thousands of years, in front of the Queen of the Insect Nest, piles of diverse creatures captured by the Insect Race accumulated.

Normally, the Queen of the Insect Nest would eat incessantly and lay insect eggs for the reproduction of the Insect Race, to acquire more nutrients and genetic sequences.

However, today, the Queen of the Insect Nest lost interest in both activities.

The swarm sensed the queen’s foul mood, their tasks conducted with great caution, fearing that a single misstep might provoke the queen and be torn to pieces.

As for the Queen of the Insect Nest’s personal guards, each lay prostrate on the ground, not daring to lift their heads even slightly.

The Queen of the Insect Nest kept replaying the scenes of its encounter with Lin Yi in its mind.

It realized something that was hard to accept.

After years of fighting with Blue Star, a true nemesis of the Insect Race had emerged in the human ranks.

Judging from the composed demeanor during battle, the Queen of the Insect Nest could analyze that Lin Yi did not use his full power against it.

If it had been the real body rather than a projection, perhaps it would no longer have the right to survive.

Fortunately, this nemesis of the Insect Race chose not to delve deeper into the heart of the Insect Race’s territory, otherwise the Queen of the Insect Nest wouldn’t know how to resist this terrifying human.

Yet, this knowledge failed to cheer up the Queen of the Insect Nest.

It was clear about one thing: the quality of the Insect Race was about to improve once again.

Moreover, this time, it had to consider the growth in intelligence of the Insect Race.

For the Queen of the Insect Nest, who had the ability to rewrite genetic sequences, boosting the intelligence of its offspring was no challenge.

But it also understood that once its offspring developed intelligent minds, they would start considering more aspects.

At that time, it would no longer be able to ensure its absolute leadership position in the Insect Race.

Soon, the Queen of the Insect Nest would find out that its worry was unnecessary.

Before long, it would meet its nightmare.

Just as rumored.

When Lin Yi traversed the Space Channel and arrived at the Insect Hive Star, his immediate attempt to use the Space Channel to return to Blue Star proved futile.

Although Lin Yi didn’t receive a specific explanation, he clearly sensed that he was lacking something which prevented him from re-entering the Space Channel.

Using the Eye of All-Seeing to scan, he received a prompt indicating a need for 96 hours of interpretation.

In other words, after waiting four days, Lin Yi would understand what he was missing and find a way to return to Blue Star.

Not a bad start.

Turning around, gazing over the entirety of the Insect Hive Star.

Lin Yi realized that this planet was vastly different from what he imagined.

He had expected the Insect Hive Star to be barren.

Such a setting seemed more fitting for insects with nearly non-existent intelligence.

Unexpectedly, the environment here wasn’t much different from Blue Star.

There were lush mountains and clear waters, flourishing forests.

Lin Yi could even use the Eye of All-Seeing to capture information about various mammals living in the dense foliage.

Just as Lin Yi considered the power of the Insect Race on the Insect Hive Star as rather limited, the Eye of All-Seeing extended a long scan line, capturing information that amazed Lin Yi—the Insect Race had domesticated many large mammals.

Within the dense foliage, one could find various large mammals of different shapes.

But upon closer observation, one would notice the dense, strong threads surrounding these pieces of dense foliage.

Thousands of huge spiders, crouching in every corner of the forest.

Those sturdy threads, produced by these spiders, were used to restrict the movement range of animals.

”No wonder the speaking Queen of the Insect Race has even developed animal husbandry.”

”Insects keeping mammals, truly an upside-down world.”

Thinking this, Lin Yi immediately activated the mechanical wings on his back, slowly ascending.

Powerful wings whipped up strong gales.

The commotion from ascending immediately captured the attention of several spiders, which crawled along the tough threads and gathered toward Lin Yi’s position.

Watching the scattered animal remains on the ground, weathered down to mere bones, Lin Yi couldn’t help but shake his head, feeling sorrow for the other animals on this planet aside from the insects.

Thud, thud, thud~

At this moment, strands of thick white sticky liquid shot toward Lin Yi’s direction.

The stance seemed like it was trying to drown Lin Yi.

But before the white sticky substance could hit Lin Yi, a terrifying vertical gravity burst forth instantly.

The white sticky substance lost all momentum approaching Lin Yi, crashing fiercely to the ground.

Instantly, the earth trembled violently.

The creatures that ambushed Lin Yi managed to reach the scene, yet facing a human sized thousands of times smaller than themselves, these hill-like giant spiders dared not make any unnecessary moves.

A sense of instinctive fear rose from deep within.

But without the Queen of the Insect Nest’s command, they dared not retreat one bit.

Only relying on intimidation, they surrounded Lin Yi.

At this moment, the Queen of the Insect Nest received signals from the guards watching the passage—they encountered trouble!

The ability-driven Queen of the Insect Nest nearly simultaneously injected its consciousness into its citizens’ perspective, witnessing the formidable opponent that instilled fear—Lin Yi!

The reconciling with this frightening adversary perplexed the Queen of the Insect Nest.

It couldn’t understand why Lin Yi ventured this far despite the risk of not being able to return home.

After battling humans for millennia, it was the first time the Queen of the Insect Nest faced such a troublesome adversary.

Just as it began analyzing Lin Yi’s weaknesses, the insect guards responsible for guarding the planetary passage lost connection with the Queen of the Insect Nest.

Clearly, Lin Yi had made his move.

This scenario was all too familiar to the Queen of the Insect Nest.

As an Insect Race, only death can free one from the queen’s control.
