Chapter 387: Chapter 387: The Nature of Soul Suppressing Dungeons—Survival of the Fittest

The laser beam seemed like the wrath of heaven, and the moment it touched the blue shell, a terrifying temperature erupted instantly.

The seawater around Jody evaporated completely in an instant.

Jody, in a soul state, was hit directly, yet still did not suffer considerable damage, but Jody’s movement was significantly restricted.

Without the embrace of the seawater, it was like a fish out of water, unable to move an inch.

”What is that?”

The beam descending from the sky felt somewhat familiar.

Recalling how Lin Yi was previously restricted in movement and placed in danger, Lin You couldn’t control her temper anymore, it surged to her head.

The Elegy of the Soul stood before her, the immense Power of the Law of Reincarnation condensed into red-black flames.

[Six Dao No-Thought Slash: Asura Dao]

Lin You’s gaze was cold as she suddenly swept forward.

Dare to threaten Lin Yi’s safety! No matter who it is! They must die!

It was at that moment this memory-lost Undead Monarch revealed her most terrifying side.

With a gloomy face, sharp killing intent, and those trembling red-black flames, the five mechanical class professionals kilometers away were instantly flustered.

Even separated by several kilometers, the group of five could clearly feel the intense killing intent, the absolute oppression from the Undead Monarch, which even made everything before their eyes lose color.

Could this be the face of the Undead Realm? The five professionals murmured in their hearts, seeing grey and white scenes in their pupils.

Luckily, Lin Yi was fast enough, hastily alternating between Wind Attribute and Thunder Element displacement skills, to catch up with the enraged Lin You.

”It’s not them, they couldn’t have mastered the power of law to control me for three minutes, kill that turtle instead.”

Lin Yi’s voice echoed in her ear, bringing Lin You back to her senses from her anger.

She redirected the strike originally aimed at the five professionals towards Jody, the Blue Death God.

A dozen seconds later, Lin Yi and Lin You arrived at a place thirty-five kilometers away.

In front of them stood the five mechanical class professionals.

Four men and one woman, with the male leader reaching the Ninth Transformation level, and the other four at the Eighth Transformation level.

Standing before Lin Yi, a Mage at the peak of the Fourth Transformation, the five seemed rather cautious.

Because beside Lin Yi, stood the indifferent Lin You.

What on earth is this little girl’s background? The five couldn’t tell.

But the scene where Jody’s soul body was burned to ashes by a single strike was still vivid in their minds.

Such a terrifying killer god, standing icily in front of them, would make anyone feel scared, right?

Coupled with the grand scene where Lin Yi had previously used the forbidden curse to its fullest extent, anyone would not dare to underestimate him.

”Who are you guys?”

Using the Eye of All-Seeing, Lin Yi could clearly see the strength and general information of the five mechanical class professionals before him.

Across the whole of Xia, these people could be called experts, especially the Ninth Transformation professional.

However, in Lin Yi’s view, as long as the opponents hadn’t reached the War God Level, they wouldn’t be too troublesome.

”H-hello, we are members of the Xia Professional Mechanized Corps, professionals from the other end of Antebellum Canyon...”

The leading male gave Lin Yi a brief self-introduction, then roughly explained the situation in this instance.

Ao Xuan wasn’t wrong.

Initially, Antebellum Canyon was a pirate’s paradise, but after the Xia Mechanical War God led professionals to attack here, the pirate group was exterminated.

Soon after, the pirates obtained the Power of Descent Abyss, transforming into ghostly bodies, and with their unnatural attributes, successfully besieged the Mechanical War God to death.

What Ao Xuan didn’t know was that, before the Mechanical War God fell, he had buried his mechanical heart in a special way into the soul body of Ghostly Blue.

Ghostly Blue would be obliterated if it left Antebellum Canyon.

During this period, the power of Ghostly Blue continued to rise, but each time it reached a breakthrough, it was limited by the mechanical heart, unable to progress further.

To break the mechanical heart left by the Mechanical War God, Ghostly Blue integrated Antebellum Canyon into the Descent Abyss instance.

As the boss of this dimension, Ghostly Blue could choose which professionals entered the instance.

The professionals invited by Ghostly Blue all shared one trait: they possessed law items before the Fifth Transformation.

Why was there such a requirement?

Ghostly Blue had mastered near Harmonization Level law power, just as the deceased Mechanical War God did.

With strength equal to the Mechanical War God, Ghostly Blue couldn’t rely on its own strength to break the mechanical heart embedded in its soul body.

It had two paths to follow.

One was to elevate its understanding of law to the Harmonization Level, suppressing the Mechanical War God in realm.

This method was obviously unfeasible, as the mechanical heart embedded it, it couldn’t leave Antebellum Canyon, and its power couldn’t advance, so how could it achieve an epiphany?

The second was to use the suppression by numerical advantage of laws, to break the mechanical heart buried within its soul body.

Thus, Ghostly Blue made the strictest selection for professionals entering the instance—it cannot be too powerful yet must possess law items.

This mechanical professional introduced to Lin Yi was named Min Hall, and he made a fairly clear explanation.

”So, does that mean this instance is meant to send professionals to their death? Saying it’s an invite from the Descent Abyss, but it’s actually a trap by the boss?”

Min Hall nodded, affirming Lin Yi’s statement.

Isn’t that the nature of all Soul Suppressing Level instances?

Why does the Soul Suppressing Level instance have a different mechanism from other difficulty instances, including a deathmatch mechanic?

Because this instance is initiated by the BOSS of Descent Abyss actively.

A strong instance BOSS would drop rich instance rewards.

But if a challenger is killed upon entering the instance, wouldn’t the resources on the challenger become the property of the instance BOSS?

However, Lin Yi still had one question.

According to the instance announcement, Lin Yi was not the first challenger to enter this instance.

And the prerequisite for entering the Ghost Train instance was owning law items.

Logically, those who failed before must have lost their law items, so why haven’t those helped Ghostly Blue remove the mechanical heart within its soul body?

Looking at him with doubts, Min Hall’s face suddenly showed a guilty expression.

The four people behind him also lowered their heads.

Intuition told Lin Yi, that these five had impure intentions!

They had indeed helped control Blue Death God Jody, assisting Lin You in the kill, but judging by their expressions, their purpose here was absolutely not to help Lin Yi, and most likely it was against Lin Yi’s interest.

”Lin You, prepare to act!”

”Let’s slaughter them first, then read their memories.”

Kindness was never Lin Yi’s style.

If they are not on the same path, even if they are also Xia professionals, Lin Yi would show no mercy.

In this world of the law of the jungle, mercy would only harm oneself, especially mercy towards the enemy!
